To Mutia

To Mutia
Kill me first

"Sorry to make you wait a long time." a second later Yudha sat her body next to Haikal who was sipping a drink. "I'll have to wait for lunch from Mutia before I get here."

"Lunch from Mutia?" haikal slowly put down his glass containing lemon tea, as his eyes stared out the window with a bright look.

Mutia used to cook lunch for me and take her to the office. No matter when it was a hot day or a heavy rain, he would still come. Mutia had always done all her duties as a wife, but I actually injured her and even dripped salt water on her wound.

"Ah, it's okay." said Haikal later while forcing a smile. "You want to order some food? I've already ordered it first." his chin was poking at the plate and glass in front of him.

Yudha responded with a small smile. Take out a food box from the cloth bag he was carrying and put it on the table. "I just had to order a drink" he said, then waved one hand into the air to call the waiter, then mentioned his order as the waiter stood nearby.

"Can I eat first?" yudha asked after the servant left their table. Because to be honest, Yudha felt a bad feeling. Somehow Yudha was sure that something Haikal wanted to tell her would make her appetite go away, while she was currently feeling very hungry.

Haikal nodded, along with the arrival of the servant who brought Yudha's order.

For a few minutes there was only silence between them. Both are busy eating lunch, while the brain continues to think. Haikal thought about where he should start telling Yudha about him and Mutia.

While Yudha was wondering what Haikal would say to her and the worst possibility that Yudha thought was, Haikal Mutia's ex-lover who could not move on like Ghifar, obsessed like Azril, was, and now Haikal came to him to threaten him into leaving Mutia.

Thirty minutes later they finally finished lunch. After washing their hands and asking the waiter to clean their table, the two now looked at each other to talk.

"So... What do you want to talk about? Honestly, your words this morning made me not focus on work and want to see you soon to find out what you want to talk about. Too bad, I have an obligation I can't just leave."

"Before, I wanted to introduce myself." Haikal's hand was outstretched to Yudha, asking for a shake.

I want Yudha to turn her eyes. They had met twice and this time they had even sat face to face for over half an hour, but Haikal was only about to introduce his name. Real nice.

Then Yudha welcomed the hand of the man she recognized as Mutia's friend.

"I'm Haikal."

Yudha scrunched his forehead. He had a pretty good memory and it was like he had heard that name. But before Yudha could remember where she had heard Haikal's name, the man before her had again made a sound.

"Mutia's ex-husband."

Ah, ja. Is correct. Mutia's ex-husband. She had seen Haikal's name on Mutia's family card after her marriage, on her job application file and several times Mutia had also mentioned her ex-husband's name.

But wait a minute..is not Mutia's husband dead?

Yudha's black bead rained down on Haikal sharply, as her lips turned to a cynical smile. "You think I'll be that easy to believe what you say? I know you're lying. So tell me who you are and what's your purpose in saying that to me?"

This time it was Haikal who scrunched his forehead. "Whatchu mean? I'm not lying at all. Mutia is my ex-wife and Joseph is my son."

"Shut up!" Yudha kicked the table hard, stealing a lot of attention, but she did not care at all. His jaw hardened and his hands clenched on the table, just waiting for a little bit to be ignited again, Yudha would explode and most likely hurt Haikal.

"I'm not really lying, Yudha." as much as possible Haikal remained calm and quiet in his chair, even though at this moment he felt like he was standing on the edge of a ravine with a hungry lion right behind him.

You have to survive if you want to get Joseph, Haikal. The other side of him cheered up, making Haikal nod faintly.

Leaning back, Yudha smiled as she looked at Haikal with scornful look. "Ah, lucky I got Mutia. There are so many men who are crazy about her."

Haikal sighed softly, then reached for the bag he was carrying and pulled out a map containing copies of his wedding and divorce papers with Mutia, which he had asked Sonya to send by email.

"You may not be able to believe my words, but these files can definitely make you believe." slowly Haikal thrust the map he brought before Yudha. "Open up."

For a few seconds Yudha intimidated Haikal with her gaze, then took the map lazily.

While reading the sheet by sheet files Haikal gave, Yudha tried to remain calm. He must not be provoked by excessive emotions, before asking the truth to Mutia and making Haikal happy because it managed to influence him. She had to trust Mutia more than the man in front of her whom she had met twice.

"We got married at Mutia's father's request." Haikal decides to tell Yudha from the beginning of her marriage and Mutia. About their relationship that did not improve, because he could not look at Mutia more than just a sister, but Haikal hid the fact that he was the cause of the divorce that occurred. After two years of marriage, they decided to divorce.

"Mutia never told me that when we got divorced, Mutia was pregnant with my son. Until a while ago, when you came home to Prabu and I visited Wak's house, I heard from the neighbors about Mutia having a son. At that time I still doubted that Joseph was my son, until our meeting at the supermarket made me absolutely sure. Joseph is my duplicate. He was so much like me at his age." along with that Haikal took out a worn-out photograph from inside his wallet and thrust it at Yudha.

Ignoring the photo Haikal gave, Yudha looked at the man in front of her with one eyebrow raised. "Then what do you want?"

Saving back his picture as a child, then sighed softly. "I know my request must be very selfish, considering you're getting married soon. But I can't let Joseph know you as his father, while I'm his real father."

"So you want Yusuf?" yudha's teeth beat and he gripped the edge of the table firmly.

"So did Mutia. Joseph was a child and needed his mother very much. I can't possibly separate them."

Yudha just shook her head in disbelief while throwing a rough breath. Then put a sheet of money hundreds on the table to pay for the message, after which he left with the map that Haikal gave, without responding to the man's request.

...* * *...

Still with tears breaking and as much as possible Mutia reached into her pants pocket. Removing the phone, Mutia reactivated the Haikal number she blocked, then immediately contacted the man.

Unfortunately, Haikal's phone was off, leaving Mutia screaming in despair and slamming her phone.

Mutia bent her legs and came back crying loudly. He had to meet Haikal to vent his anger and pain. It will not be able to repair his relationship and Yudha, but at least it can slightly ease the tightness that is squeezing his chest.

When she remembered her father-in-law, Mutia moved quickly to pick up a cell phone that was a meter away from her. A sigh of relief came out from between the lips when he found his phone could still light up, even though the screen was cracked.

Trembling Mutia unblocked her father-in-law's number, then contacted the pulmonary man who was so kind to her. One time, not lifted. Mutia tried to return, still not being lifted. As soon as it continued until the seventh call, made Mutia want to slam her phone back so hard that it could not be used anymore. But just now Mutia raised her hand to slam the phone, the flat object actually rang loudly.

Upon finding the name of the father-in-law on his phone screen, Mutia immediately answered the call after wiping away her tears. Mutia cleared her throat so that her voice did not sound hoarse, then said hello.

"Mutia, you finally called Dad. Since leaving Prabumulih, I've been calling you, but your number has never been active. You're all right, aren't you, son?"

Mutia closed her eyes for a moment. Feeling guilty for his father-in-law. Indeed, since leaving the hometown, Mutia cut off all contact with the Haikal family, including her good father-in-law.

Dad asked me how I was doing, which means Haikal hasn't told Dad anything yet. "Eum, I'm fine. Own dad?"

"Ah, thank goodness. If Dad, it's getting better after hearing your voice and knowing you're okay, son."

"Dad, heum... Haikal,"

"He's fine too, son."

No, that's not what I want to know, Dad. His inner.

"Haikal is in Bali right now. Representing us to help take care of his Uncle's son's wedding."

"Yes, I met him a few days ago."

"So you've been in Bali all this time, son?"

"I got a job here, Dad." pause for a few seconds. Mutia cleared her throat, before saying her goal was to contact her former father-in-law. "Haikal in Bali where to stay, Dad? I. I want to meet him. There's something I want to talk about."

Hartono did not answer. It was not that he did not want to tell Mutia, but that he was just being shocked and feeling happy. Mutia wants to meet Haikal? Hartono hopes Haikal and Mutia can get back together.

"Dad asked Haikal to stay at his cousin's house, but Haikal instead decided to stay at the hotel." then Hartono told Mutia the name of the hotel where Haikal was staying.

After thanking her and promising to visit her father-in-law, Mutia ended the call. Then without wasting time he rushed to his room, took a bag and said goodbye to Mbah, before leaving the house.

Within twenty minutes of traveling by taxi, Mutia finally arrived at the hotel lobby where Haikal stayed during his stay in Bali. Soon Mutia approached the reception desk to ask for Haikal's room number, but the woman in front of him did not easily grant his request.

"I am Mutia Haruka. Please call Mr. Haikal and tell him I want to meet."

The tight-natured lady with a professional friendly smile asked Mutia to wait as she contacted Haikal. It wasn't until two minutes that she hung up and told Mutia the room number of Haikal's hotel.

For ten seconds Mutia moved uneasily in the elevator, lucky that there was no one with her in the iron box or that she would definitely make the person with her feel disturbed.

When the elevator door finally opened, Mutia walked quickly to find Haikal's room number. It took quite a while until she found the door to Haikal's room, then Mutia brutally banged on the door of the room while shouting her ex-husband's name. He does not care if people feel disturbed and will get him a reprimand.

"Mutia," for a second the door opened, Haikal's figure appeared with a smile, but the smile instantly disappeared and changed into a look of shock as Mutia slapped loudly on her right cheek.

"What are you doing?!" haikal shouted while holding his cheek that felt sore.

"The pain is nothing with the pain I feel because of your actions, Haikal!" despite trying hard not to cry, in fact Mutia was still a woman who was soft feelings, until the tears flowed out with a rush.

"Why do you have so much heart for me, Haikal? Why did you tell Mas Yudha everything?!"

"I was forced to do that because you didn't want to talk to me, Mutia. If Joseph wasn't my son, I wouldn't have come like this. But the truth is that Joseph is my son and I will not let him grow up knowing another man as his father, while he does not know me."

"But it has to be this way? You told Mas Yudha everything, while I waited for the right time to tell her."

"Waiting for the right time? After she married you, you mean? So that he doesn't leave you, does he? Why are you so selfish, Mutia. I am also entitled to Joseph. I won't let that man's name be on my son's birth certificate."

"My son, my son, you keep saying that, even though you don't even know about his whereabouts."

"That's because you didn't tell me, Mutia!"

"Because you don't even remember when you fucked me, then how could you believe your son Joseph if I told you about my pregnancy back then. There you will definitely accuse me of being pregnant with another man just to annul our divorce, because you feel like you never touched me and make me worse in everyone's eyes!"

Haikal fluttered with his mouth tightly clenched. He could say nothing more, for what Mutia said was true.

"What's my fault with you, Haikal?" Mutia looked at Haikal desperately, full of pain and tears streaming down. "I'm just following my father's wish to marry you. If it's a mistake, it doesn't feel like you're getting back at it by taking away all my happiness."

Despite hearing some hotel room doors open and making her the center of attention, Mutia did not ease her cries at all. The woman was getting louder and louder. Not to draw sympathy, but to relieve his heart.

"I can accept you having an affair with my cousin, I can also accept now that you made my marriage and Mas Yudha void, but I cannot accept that you took Joseph from me. Joseph is my son and he is very precious to me. I will not let go of him to you, even if you are his real father." Removing the distance, Mutia stood very close to Haikal. His head looked up, challenging Haikal's black eyes with a cold look, as he pressed down on Haikal's chest.

"I will defend Joseph at all costs. And if you want to take it from me, that means you have to kill me first."

Then Mutia stepped away, leaving behind Haikal who was sculpting in the doorway.

"So it is true that Joseph was my son." his trembling hand rubbed his face violently. "Oh my God, now what am I supposed to do? I want my son, but if I force myself, then I'll go back to hurting Mutia."
