"I fixed the house key."
Both brothers who had just come out of the room directed attention to the origin of the sound, only to find Yudha sitting on the sofa of the family room, accompanied by a television broadcast news.
Mutia's soot beads looked sparkling, as her lips covered a wide smile. "Thank God. I'm worried that tonight I won't be able to sleep well because I'm thinking about the door of the house that's not locked."
Then Yudha got up from sitting down. "Alright, then I'm back at the office now."
"Mas Yudha has lunch?" Faisal managed to undo Yudha's intention to leave the family room.
"Yet. From here I'll stop by the place to eat."
"Why not just eat with us? I cook a lot of lunch. Aye, right?" turning to Mutia, Faisal asked for support.
"Huh?" receiving a sudden look from Yudha made Mutia flutter, then clumsily nodded her head. "That's it if I want to."
Yudha smiled a little. "Isn't it a problem? I'll interrupt when you guys miss."
"Omong empty," Faisal shook his hand. "I went to Bali for the holidays, not because I missed this chatter." then Faisal invited Yudha to the dining room, leaving Mutia unmoved with pursed lips.
"Based on your ungodly sister." mutia murmured while throwing an irritated look at Faisal, upon arrival near the dinner table.
"Don't be ferocious, Yuk, ntar far away, loh." seduced Faisal, making Mutia's annoyance increase.
"Stupid is so much about a mate, now that I think I can be born safely or not."
"Mutia!"
"Corn!"
Receiving a cruel gaze from two other men of different age nearby made Mutia misbehave and rubbed her nape with a row.
"I don't like to hear you talk like that, Mutia." Yudha's tone sounded resolute and got an agreeable nod from Faisal. "You should speak well, for speech is prayer."
Like an elementary school student who had just done mischief and was called a teacher, Mutia bowed her head, regretting her actions.
"Life and death are in the hands of God, but you should pray that you will be given enough time to care for and care for the child you have borne, until he grows up. You understand, Mutia?"
"I-iya, Mom. Sorry."
Yudha smiled anxiously at Mutia's behavior, still faithfully lowered her head and twisted the front of the pregnant dress that the woman was wearing.
"Can we eat now?" Yudha diverted the conversation, relieving the tension. Her lips turned a smile as Mutia raised her face. "My stomach's been struggling to be filled."
With a smile on Yudha's face, Mutia pulled the corner of her lips, then grabbed an empty plate. Fill the plate with rice, then show it to Yudha.
"Again?"
"Enough. If less, then." Yudha winked one eye, which Mutia responded with an amused giddiness, then she received the plate Mutia gave her.
"I, Yuk." along with that Faisal thrust his plate at Mutia.
"Take it yourself." Mutia turned her face.
Faisal throws lips. "Jahatttt" he said dramatically, then with a grunt filling his plate.
"How many days are you planning here, Sal?" asked Yudha after she took the side dishes and stir-fry vegetables.
"Four days, Mas." said Faisal while enjoying his lunch. "Oh yes, Mas know a boarding house or room that can be rented for a few days around here? Because there's no way I can stay with Ayuk, considering that in this house all the inhabitants are women."
"Why not just stay at a hotel?"
"Muahaal, Mother. What a force, I was just a high school student." cupped his hands in the chest, Faisal lowered his head in an exaggerated manner, making Mutia snort loudly at his acting sister.
"Daily boarding house is also equally expensive, Sal." grabbed a glass, Yudha gulped the contents until the remaining half, before returning to talk. "If you want, you can stay at my house for the next four days."
"No need, Mom."
Faisal who a few seconds ago sparkled to hear Yudha's words, immediately turned to Mutia with a sour look.
"Faisal rent a kost, Mas. If you stay with Mas, you will take care of it. My son likes to worry about it." Mutia glanced cynically at her sister who was blinking lips.
"Look, if I feel troubled, Faisal will immediately kick me out of the house." guyon Yudha, accompanied by amused obstinacy.
"Well, Yuk. Mas Yudha just don't mind me staying at his house" said Faisal enthusiastically. Not out of rent, his mind is carefree.
"But, Mom..."
"I'm sure Faisal's holiday budget is limited. He wants to explore Bali. So. rather than the money used to pay for the boarding, mending used for the streets or buy something. And also, people who vacation, of course, go home must bring souvenirs. Aye, right?"
"That's right, Mas. O Allah, why does Mas Yudha understand me more than my own brother?" sahut Faisal is excited.
Ignoring Faisal, Mutia again responded to Yudha's words. "Or put it this way, Faisal nginep in Mas's house provided for male employees and Faisal will pay the rent for his room. How's it?" Mutia smiled broadly at the thought of having managed to come up with a solution.
"There's no room there, Mutia."
Of course Yudha lied. Because like this house, the house in which male employees live also has many rooms and employees from outside the city who live there can even still be counted with the fingers.
Tilting his body at Mutia, Yudha stared at the pregnant woman sharply and fixedly. "Why are you so stubborn, Mutia?"
Sighing, Mutia nodded slowly. "All right."
...* * *...
"My caller, Mutia. You where? You're okay, right? I'm worried about you."
"Why did you leave without waiting for me to come home first? I know the misunderstanding between you and Teteh must make you uncomfortable as well feel guilty, but should you go without telling me and disappear like this?"
"You shouldn't have left, Mutia. Wait me. I will definitely help you. Find a new place to live and work for you, if you don't want to be between Teh Lamia and Azril anymore."
"Mutia, please. Don't ignore me. Call me after you hear this voice message."
"I still love you. Even to this day. And I miss you."
A heavy sigh came out from between Mutia's lips, as she put the phone on the nightstand, then rubbed her face rough. For several days Ghifar routinely contacted him. Whether by phone, short message, WA, Line, even through direct messages on his social media, but he always ignored the man. Because he never got an answer from him, now Ghifar switched to bombarding him with voicemail.
Unlike Azril's number that he had blocked since leaving Lamia's residence, because he really wanted to cut off any relationship with the man, Mutia let Ghifar and Lamia's cell phone numbers remain on his phone. They could contact her at any time, as Lamia often did. But for Ghifar, the man seemed to have just received a leave of absence, then went home and no longer found him at Lamia's house, so now Ghifar began to contact him.
Maybe I should block Ghifar's number so he can completely forget me.
And Mutia did. Quickly grab the phone over the nightstand, then block Ghifar's number. A second later the flat object in his grasp trembled and let out a loud ring. There was a line of anonymous numbers on his phone screen. Incoming call.
Mutia dilemma. Should he answer the call from the unknown number?
But what if this call is from Ghifar's brother? Or worse, A' Azril. Oh my God, what am I supposed to do?
Call ended. Mutia breathed a sigh of relief. But three seconds later, the call from the same number came back in. Mutia wanted to ignore him, but somehow her heart told her to answer the call.
After struggling with her thoughts, Mutia let out a rough breath, then decided to answer the call.
"Assynolajet. Good night."
Sounded authenticated from across the phone responding to his greeting.
"Yes, I am Mutia. Sorry, who is this?"
And the caller's answer made Mutia turn away with reflexive hands covering her gaping mouth.
