Mutia was playing with Joseph in her lap, when Yudha got out of the elevator after completing her business paying taxes. The corner of his lips was attracted to form a warm smile when he heard Mutia's crisp laughter, which he had been fond of since when.
"Look, Dad is back" he said to Joseph, then straightened his son's body and set the position facing Yudha who was walking towards them.
"Hello, champ."
Upon arriving before Mutia, Yudha immediately took over Joseph. Raising the height of Joseph's tiny body, then rubbing his face on the stomach of the five-month-old baby, making Joseph laugh because he was amused.
"Did I make you wait a long time?" Yudha looked at Mutia after she carried Joseph properly.
Mutia shook her head, smiled and got up from sitting while reaching for the bag that contained all of Joseph's needs. "I didn't even notice Mas's departure and suddenly Mas was here again with us."
"Yes, it was fortunate that the queue was not too much." then Yudha stretched out her hand to cupper the side of Mutia's face, then rubbed the woman's cheek that met her thumb. "Today we're going to grab an invitation or a fitting of your dress?"
"Guide, deh, Mas. Because the show is not up to one month away, the invitation has to be spread. If the dress was yesterday just pecilin on the upper arm only."
"OKAY. I see what the future wife said, I am a good and wise husband candidate." Yudha's words were accompanied by a blink of an eye, successfully making the red hue on Mutia's cheeks more clearly visible, and the, while an amused laughter came out from between his lips.
"We're leaving now?" asked Yudha, who got a nod from Mutia. Without wasting any time Yudha grabbed the woman's hand, grasping it tightly while walking side by side.
Staring at his hands that were interlocked with Yudha, Mutia could not help but comment on the smile. Yudha's hand was warm and promised protection, as if saying; I will not let you go no matter what, making Mutia tighten her grip and drawing Yudha's attention to look at her. They looked at each other, then threw a smile for a while.
"The handle is not too strong, Mutia. Take it easy, I won't be able to leave you." she said in a witty tone.
Mutia looked at Yudha with one eyebrow raised. "Why is it impossible? If married people can get divorced, let alone us who are just getting married."
Sontak Yudha stopped his steps, even with Mutia. The man's black bead stared fixedly at Mutia, while the look on his face looked solemn. "I will not allow any woman to experience the same destruction and suffering as Mami because she is a man. I do not want any other Sultan and Yudha, who were victims because of their father's actions. You can hold my words, Mutia, but if one day I disavow my words, then I can cut my own tongue in front of you right then and there."
Mutia smiled rattlingly, then used her free hand to rub Yudha's arm, trying to relieve the tension the man showed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to doubt you, Mom."
I doubt myself. Wouldn't it feel so selfish if I kept you with me, while you didn't love me. What will our marriage be like? Would I go back to experiencing the same thing again?
Mutia stared right into Yudha's eyes, looking into the depths of the man's heart, but she found nothing but faith. "I want you to promise me one thing."
"What?"
"If later Mas find the woman that Mas loves, please tell me, insya'Allah, I will sincerely take off Mas to be with him. But please, don't betray me by having a relationship behind my back."
Without a doubt Yudha nodded steadily. "I promise." Because it'll never happen.
...* * *...
Mutia asks Yudha to accompany her monthly shopping at the supermarket, as the supplies at home are running out. So here they are now, standing among the supermarket shelves that contain various types of kitchen needs.
"Oh yes, the milk of Joseph's bread is still there?"
After consulting a doctor, at the age of now Yusuf is allowed to eat solid food, but still must be in soft form, such as milk porridge. As for the interlude or snack, doctors recommend Mutia give Yusuf baby special biscuits in the form of pieces to practice the skills of his fingers (smooth motor) as well as stimulate the growth of baby teeth.
For formula milk, Mutia did not completely stop giving breast milk to Joseph. He still gives exclusive breast milk and combines it with formula milk. The doctor had chosen the right formula milk to be consumed by Joseph. Actually Mutia did not give formula too often, only when she was taking Joseph traveling or was in the crowd that did not allow her to breastfeed Joseph.
"Ouch, good thing Mas ingetin. I forgot to record it."
"Yes, if so I took Joseph's needs. It's still the same brand, right?"
Mutia nodded. "You guys take porridge, tomato same papaya yes, Mas."
Yudha knew that papaya and tomatoes were often used as juice to give to Joseph. "OKAY. I went there first." Yudha's index finger pointed at the shelf containing baby food.
When he got the nod from Mutia, Yudha did not immediately leave. He still took the time to kiss the cheek of Mutia, who successfully made his future wife blush and reflexively patted his arm.
"Kok, I got hit, anyway, wife-to-be?" his eyes glanced at the joke, as his lips gave a smile. "What am I wrong?"
"Ngapain pack kiss-kiss everything."
This is the first time Yudha has kissed her cheek, usually the man will only give a kiss on the forehead. If a kiss on the forehead alone can make him blush red, let alone a kiss on the cheek that feels intimate, managed to make Mutia feel her cheeks burning hot.
Still with a blushing face, Mutia observed around, which fortunately was not too crowded and no one was watching them. "It's not good to see people, Mom."
"Yes, yes, I'm sorry." Putting a hand on the top of Mutia's head, Yudha ruffled the woman's hair, leaving some of her strands untied and looking messy.
"You can make me angry. Your cheeks are now so much like squishy, who asked to be pinched and squeezed."
"Udah, Mas." Mutia once again patted Yudha's arm. Between annoyance and shame. It is true, since giving birth to Joseph, Mutia felt her body slightly filled, even with her cheeks. "Entar is listening, making a misunderstanding."
"Ish, what the hell, Mas Yudha. Genitious." lamented Mutia when Yudha poked her chin while laughing, then left her.
As Mutia was focusing on sifting through the necessities on the shelf, someone touched her shoulder, making Mutia automatically direct her attention to the owner of the hand. Then Mutia involuntarily rewinded, as her vision caught a figure she very much did not want to meet again in her lifetime.
"It's true you, Mutia. Finally.." the figure before Mutia seemed to smile, after sighing in relief.
For a few days —to be exact since he accidentally saw Haikal passing through boutique— Mutia was worried, afraid Haikal would find him, but after a week passed the thing that he feared never happened, but after a week passed, so that made Mutia start to feel calm, because thinking maybe that day he just misunderstood. But now, he actually met the figure he was avoiding very much, in places and in stressful situations.
What if Mas Yudha shows up while Haikal is still here? What if Haikal saw Joseph? Oh God, help me. With a feeling of fearlessness, Mutia occasionally threw anxious gazes at the place where Yudha had previously disappeared.
"I'm glad I finally found you, Mutia. Don't run away again, please."
Along with that Haikal grabbed Mutia's hand, holding firmly but not hurting, making Mutia suddenly look at her hand which was in Haikal's grasp and try to escape. Honey, his efforts have not been fruitful.
"Take it off, Haikal." Mutia hissed with her eyes glaring sharply.
"will not. If I let go, you will definitely hide again. I want to talk to you, Mutia, we have to solve the problems between us."
Previously Haikal was so upset when his father told him to go to Bali to help prepare the marriage of his father's sister's son. Both parents could not attend because his mother was in an unhealthy condition, but at the same time he wanted to go to Bengkulu to look for Mutia. But now Haikal feels grateful his father asked him to go to Bali, so he can now meet with Mutia.
"What other problems? Hasn't everything been done since the judge declared us officially divorced."
Haikal sighed. "Our separation is shrouded in anger and disappointment, so I am looking for you to apologize for all my evil deeds to you."
"Okay, I'm sorry. Now you can let me go and please don't show up in front of me. Just like you and Sonya, I also want to be happy with my new life, with no shadow of the past."
"Have you really forgiven me? That easy?"
Mutia nodded. "Yes, forgiveness is easy, but forgetting is hard. Everything that happens will continue to exist in memory, until I die. Or. if I lose my memory."
A long sigh came out from between Haikal's lips, when his eyes showed a sorry look. "If I could turn back time, I would choose to be honest with you, rather than betray you and hurt you, until now I have received the reward."
"There's nothing to be sorry about, Haikal." Mutia pulled back her hand and was grateful Haikal no longer held it back. "I love my life now. And if it wasn't for what you did, maybe I wouldn't be here and find my happiness." Mutia raised her shoulders.
"I've also heard about Sonya's pregnancy which is always problematic. I am sorry for all the loss you have experienced, but do not think that it is the reward of what you have done to me, but now God has not entrusted you to have one of his angels. I've summarized what happened and made it a lesson so I can live a better life."
Then his lips covered a clumsy smile. Really, he did not expect to be able to say a sentence that long with a calm tone, even though he was scared half to death to make a lot of cold sweat began to appear.
"Tens..."
Just now Haikal wanted to ask about Mutia's child which he knew from the conversation of the people around Wak Agus' house, he said, the appearance of someone calling out the name Mutia undoes her intentions and makes her instantly direct attention to the origin of the sound, only to find a man standing behind him holding a baby boy and some other items in his hand. Without any difficulty the man walked over to Mutia.
"Oh, hi. Friend, Mutia?" Yudha who was already beside Mutia threw a friendly smile at Haikal.
"I'm..."
"Yes, Mas. He's my friend from Prabu." cut off Mutia, while looking at Yudha nervously.
"Ah, so." Yudha put all the things she brought into the trolley, then extended her hand to Haikal. "I'm Yudha, Mutia's fiancee."
"Tu-fiancee?" Haikal stuttered and stared fixedly at Mutia, but the woman ignored him instead.
"Yes. Not until one more month we're getting married." Yudha shook her hand faintly, gesturing for Haikal to welcome her outstretched hand and introduce herself.
But instead of giving what Yudha wants, Haikal nailed attention to the tiny baby in Yudha's arms. The baby's face reminds her of her childhood photos. Yes, the face of the baby in Yudha's arms is very similar to her at that baby's age.
"He's..."
Yudha followed Haikal's gaze, then chuckled softly and patted Joseph's back gently as the baby was hiccupping. "His name is Joseph."
Haikal turned his attention to Yudha. "What's her age?"
"Enter six months. Isn't that right, Mut?" yudha's gaze was fixed on Mutia whose face now looked deathly pale, making Yudha immediately look at him worriedly. "You sick, Mut?" he touched Mutia's forehead, neck and arms. "Your body is sweating cold."
Grabbing Yudha's hand, Mutia clasped tightly. "I-iya, Mom. I'm not feeling well all of a sudden. Can we go home now?"
"Yes, I will continue shopping after taking you and Joseph home. Come on," grabbing Mutia's hand, Yudha returned to holding the woman. Before leaving he directed his gaze at Haikal. "Sorry, we have to go first."
With a stiff Haikal nodded his head. It could only flinch when Yudha and Mutia left him.
He has only been in six months. His face was also very similar to mine as a baby. Is he really my son? I have to ask Mutia the truth.
