To Mutia

To Mutia
Not just me

The room is spacious. Perhaps three times the size of Mutia's room in her hometown. Inside the room was a long table with twenty chairs on each side.

After passing through the sliding door with glass material, Mutia stepped in and walked towards the chair she had occupied from the beginning. All prospective sales seem to have claimed each seat as their own, so no one can move places.

Upon arriving at the fourth row seat which was close to the glass wall, Mutia frowned when she found a special milk pregnant women with a box packaging measuring 240 ml on the table.

Still overwhelmed with confusion, Mutia grabbed the milk box and at the same time a small paper — attached to the bottom of the box— surface fell on the floor and caught his attention. Soon Mutia bowed, then picked up the paper.

Have a good day, Mutia. The spirit!

B. Yudhas.

His name is on the paper. Proving that milk was for her. Mutia unconsciously smiled when she found out that the milk was Yudha's gift.

Then Mutia put down her bag, before walking out without removing the smile from her face. He intended to go up to the fourth floor to meet his superiors and say thank you in person.

"Oh my God, Mutia."

In such a hurry, Mutia almost hit a woman who was just about to get out of the elevator.

"Sorry, Mrs Baldev."

Ms Baldev is a thirty-six-year-old woman who works in finance and is currently pregnant with her second four-month-old child.

"Where are you going? Very rushed."

"You go to the fourth floor, ma'am. Meet the boss. There's something to talk about."

"Well, boss just left. There's a meeting outside. Maybe just came back after lunch."

Mutia's shoulders wiggle along with a soft sigh coming out from between her lips. For some reason he suddenly felt disappointed not to be able to meet Yudha today.

"Eh, you got milk?"

"Huh?" raising her face, Mutia looked at Baldev's mom with her brows furrowed.

"That" Baldev pointed at the milk box that Mutia was holding. "Given you boss, right?"

"Kok, Miss Baldev know?"

The thirty-sixth woman knew it was grinning wide while scribbling her blazer pocket, then showing the same box milk as Mutia's, despite the different flavors.

"Bu Baldev got it too." Mutia could not cover the disappointed tone in her voice.

"Yes. Mr. Boss often give special milk boxes for pregnant women, fruits or healthy snacks for all pregnant women in BM. Not every day, at least twice a month."

Instantly the euphoria that Mutia felt just a moment ago, now disappeared without a trace. It turns out it wasn't just me.

"You don't have to feel weird or confused, yeah. The boss is good. During Baldev's pregnancy I was also confused and even had bad thoughts about the boss, afraid he was interested in me, but it turned out... the boss does the same thing to other employees who are also pregnant. From there I just found out, that the boss always gives special treatment to pregnant women."

Yeah, he's good. Too good, to make me get carried away. Mutia stared at the milk nanar box which a moment ago made her not stop smiling.

...* * *...

At the beginning of work Mutia was so excited, she enjoyed her work and did not feel any pain at all. Until last night her body began to protest, as it was forced to continue working beyond the limits of her condition. And this was the end, Mutia felt her body crumble dimly like she had just been beaten by a single RT person.

A new drowsiness approached him after Mutia performed worship. As much as possible Mutia held herself back from falling asleep, because soon she had to get ready to go to work. But his drowsiness was so unbearable, that it made him yawn repeatedly and ended up sleeping on the floor covered with fur carpet. Even because it was too sleepy, Mutia did not have time to release the mucena that wrapped her body.

Mutia's sleep was so good. The sunlight that broke through from the air vents, not even able to disturb the pregnant woman's sleep. The urge to urinate was the one who finally managed to wake her up, making Mutia lazily move towards the bathroom.

Mutia's eyes widened as she exited the bathroom and found the clock on the wall of her room showing at 07.18 minutes. This made Mutia panic, because she threatened to be late for work. It took fifteen minutes to bathe and get ready, then at 07:40 Mutia was on his way to Barata Mobilindo. Mutia was forced to ask the online motorcycle she was riding to go fast so that she would arrive before eight.

The journey, which usually takes twenty minutes, is now successfully taken in just ten minutes. Although he felt his heart hammering due to the adrenaline rush when the ojek father speeded, Mutia was grateful there was still ten minutes left when he arrived at the office lobby.

"Wait, wait! Please, hold the door." asked Mutia in a high voice, when she saw the elevator that was her destination would be closed.

He had to take the elevator in order to be absent on time, if waiting for the elevator to go down or waiting for another elevator, it could take a minimum of five minutes and he would definitely end up late.

Finding the people in the elevator ignoring her request, Mutia grew panicked. Holding her cramped stomach, Mutia stepped wide, rushing towards the elevator that was just about to close. If only she was not pregnant, Mutia would have run fast by now.

Too focused on the elevator that was about to close, Mutia did not notice her footsteps. The pregnant woman continued to step up, ignoring the warning board. Then when her foot stepped on the floor that was still in a wet and slippery state, Mutia could not maintain her balance, almost fell if only no one held back and held her arm, she said, then take it away from the slippery floor area.

Mutia.

"Hold the door!" the command-pitched speech immediately made one of the people in the elevator push the restraining button. Where could they possibly ignore the boss's orders, just like they did to Mutia. It's the same name as suicide.

"Are you okay, Mutia?" Yudha stared worriedly at Mutia who was still unmoved in her arms. The woman's face was deathly pale with her body letting out cold sweat.

Mutia rubbed her big belly that had just gotten a kick. Maybe the baby wants to tell her that she's okay in there. And that made Mutia sigh in relief.

"I-iya, Mas." along with that Mutia straightened her trembling body. If Yudha was a second late to help her, I don't know what would happen to the baby.

"Your dependency is already very big Mutia, so you have to be very careful. Lose your careless nature." Gets Mutia's hand, Yudha invites the woman to step with her. "What do you think of when you run on this big belly, huh?"

"I'm not running, Mom. I was just walking quickly." Mutia denied, glancing at Yudha who occasionally observed her footsteps.

"In my view, you're seen running with your short legs."

Mutia scowled, but no longer debated Yudha because they had now arrived in front of the elevator. As they entered the iron box, people rewinded their bodies to create empty space. Mutia knew very well, they did that for Yudha. Had he not been with the boss, where would they have given a little space, even though the elevator was still quite quiet.

"I don't want this to happen again." Yudha's baritone voice broke the silence inside the elevator that had just moved up.

"Either to Mutia or any other employee. You both work in this building, both trying and both looking for money. But don't do it all, so you care about your ears and blind your eyes. You have to remember, the biggest reason that you are accepted in this company, because you have an attitude that I consider good. If it no longer exists, then please leave this company. I don't need employees who can't appreciate each other."

Mutia observed the people who were in the elevator with her. They all bowed their heads, as if Yudha's reprimand was an invisible hand slapping their cheeks back and forth repeatedly.

Then Mutia turned to Yudha. The man stood firm, his hands both in his pants pocket, while his gaze was straight forward. Then suddenly Yudha directed her gaze at Mutia who had been watching the man since, making Mutia flutter and misbehavior. But Yudha only smiled, then blinked one eye.

Mutia immediately turned her face, then looked down, staring at the tip of her foot wrapped in flat shoes. A sense of heat spread across his cheeks, making Mutia sure the passage must have been flushed. I don't know for what reason he was flirting. For Yudha's help or the man's smile and wink.

Mutia doesn't know.
