The Train to The Dungeon

The Train to The Dungeon
Chapter 9: The Croptiller

I gulped, not expecting the difference in our strength to be so far away. While groaning in pain I tried to get up. Blood was seeping from the hollow part of my body. I cast a Heal skill and recovered my HP bar. My wounds did heal, but the pain was still left in my body.

“Sial, the pain is excruciating,” I said as I put up a position to attack.

My hand was clutching tightly onto the hilt of the machete, ready to attack. However, the Nightshade Raven that was dozens of meters in front of me suddenly raised both of its wings. He moved his wings forward and then backward, as the wind gathered and formed a sharp sword slash. That high-speed wind blow was pointing at me.

Run on!

My mind screams for orders. My feet are slow to respond. As a result, my body was hit by that wind attack. I was thrown further and further away. My whole body ached, when I opened my eyes, I saw long incisions tearing my clothes and pants. Fresh blood flowed from every tear wound in my body.

“Heal!”

My HP bar is recharged. However, I had more and more difficulty withstanding the agony. Nightshade Raven repeated the same attack. This time I should be able to avoid it.

I set my foot firmly on the ground then jumped far to the side. I managed to avoid the sharp winds, but I did not expect the Nightshade Raven to have prepared a follow-up attack. He spread out both wings, then darted sharp black feathers.

Again, I could not avoid or protect myself. Dozens of needles flew towards me, some of which I could field with machetes, but more hit my body.

“Argh!” I fell on the ground.

My whole body was filled with black feathers. It's very painful, some needles penetrate too deep until my joints feel drained when moved.

“Heal!”

I healed myself, but my HP bar that was already fully charged suddenly reduced again quickly. That life line is shrinking. I panicked why my healing ability was not working.

As if not giving me a pause to rest or think, Nightshade Raven again threw winds as sharp as the blade of the sword. I ignored my concern for the HP bar, my focus right now is to dodge the Nightshade Raven attack first.

I activated Shadow Move and disappeared like a shadow. My feet stepped swiftly, circling the Nightshade Raven and appearing behind her. Before he realized my existence, the wounds on my body had to be healed first.

Maybe my HP is shrinking because of these feathers?

I began to pluck one by one the feathers that stuck in the body. My face grimaced every time I pulled the feather. After cleaning, I used the Heal skill again. This time my HP bar was fully charged and did not shrink. I can't be completely relieved that there's a notification from the system.

[Warning! Fatigue Level increased by 18%]

My mana bar was half left, my chest was going up and down as breathing started to stabilize. I was getting exhausted, even though the fight against the dungeon boss had just begun. I took out two bottles of mana potions and upheld them. My mana bar instantly filled up and Fatigue Level dropped to 12%.

That raven monster is still unaware of my existence. Next, I should be able to strike back. I took a deep breath, trying to calm down and suppress the fear. After activating the Shadow Move skill I advanced darting.

My footsteps were like being sucked into the shadows, there was no sound at all. In an instant I managed to get close to Nightshade Raven. Both of my feet were tracing the ground, my body was thrust into the air. Just as it was about to pass through the body of the crow monster, I swung the machete and managed to slash its back.

The furious Nightshade Raven fluttered one of its wings, creating a whiff of wind around its body like a shield that flung things around it. I too was thrown by the wind.

I landed not far from him. I watched my machete that was hit by Nightshade Raven's blood let out smoke.

[Warning! Durability of Ordinary Machete reduced by 82%]

“Durability?” I noticed my blade started rusting. After I checked using the Cloirvayance skill, it turned out that Nightshade Raven's blood had a corrosive effect that accelerated the damage of the weapon and armor.

“It's worth my weapon so this,” I said as I watched the rust spread rapidly.

In retrospect, I also previously used Ordinary Machete to injure the Nightshade Raven's wings. Means that my machete has been exposed since by his corrosive blood, so the durability of my weapon decreased drastically.

The corner of my eye caught the strange movement of the Nighthade Raven. It's like taking a run to run. The giant-sized crow set its feet, its body lifted into the air and a strong wind emerged that pushed its body swiftly towards me. Both of his wings were held to his sides. His entire body was spinning like a high-speed bullet.

My skin could feel a gust of wind swirling all over the area. His strength was very strong and urgent. I had to avoid his attack.

I used the Shadow Move skill again, I darted quickly to the left to dodge. Nightshade Raven's body gushed the ground and caused a huge explosion to thunder. As soon as the smog and the ground fumes disappeared, I saw a large hole and part of the corn field on the edge of the field was destroyed.

If I had been hit by his attack, it was certain that my body would be destroyed instantly.

“Wait, it's a good opportunity!” I saw Nightshade Raven rolled over. His back was on the ground and both of his legs were raised upward, he seemed to have trouble standing back to his starting position.

In an instant I drank the mana potion and used the Heal skill twice to recover the HP bar. Then next, I immediately dashed towards Nightshade Raven while unsheathing the machete.

I shouted loudly pouring all the power into the hilt of my weapon. Just as it was about to pierce its chest, Nighsthade Raven spun around, its head part pointing towards where I was about to land. His black and sharp beak quickly caught the blade of the machete and broke it.

The sound of things breaking, both my eyes glared, shocked because they did not expect the attack. Nighshade Raven opened her beak and let out a loud and painful “Kraa-kraa” sound. A huge wave of his voice shook my body and threw me to the wall of the corn barn.

I fell down, both my hands shaking. My sight became blurred due to the effect of the sound wave attack just now.

[Warning! Fatigue Level increased by 43%]

Wake up.. Wake up.. Don't just shut up! I ordered my body to stand up, but it was hard. Everything I saw felt like it was spinning, my stomach was like being shaken. As my eyes refocused, I saw the sky seem darker than usual.

Nighsthade Raven could finally stand back up. He roared several times, and then the sound of the ravens came. Like black dots above the sky, they gathered together and flew around above the field. Their numbers reach thousands.

Nightshade Raven ordered them to attack me, as thousands of birds swooped down towards the corn barn. The large horde moved in unison, I could feel its power until it shook the ground. I forced myself to use Shadow Move, at least I had to dodge to reduce the fatal wound.

The crows attacked like a huge wave, sweeping and destroying whatever it passed through. The corn barn that was behind me was destroyed, some pieces of wood fell on my body that hid around the building.

“Fuah!” I pushed the wood that was pressing against my body. My chest puffed up along with the amount of oxygen I was breathing. It feels so crowded with these woods. But I am thankful that I am alive.

“Heal!” I recovered again while trying to stand up.

[Warning! Fatigue Level increased by 57%]

I am already exhausted. Both my legs could not stop shaking, my knees hurt amazingly, not to mention the pain from the scars on the body, felt many times more than before. But I have to win this fight. I don't want to lose. I don't want to die a second time.

“I won't die here!” myrag.

My finger moved open the Inventory screen and took out the Whisperblade weapon.

[Item: Whisperblade

Item Class: D

Type: Weapons

A pair of sickle-shaped weapons made of iron]

The blade of the weapon was green in color and emitted a glowing line in each of its traces. I tightly grasped the two hilts of the weapon and mounted the horses to attack. Highlight my eyes fixedly staring at Nighshade Raven, observing every move she made.

Nightshade Raven jumped up while flapping her wings to help her lift into the air, then she darted quickly towards me while unsheathing the sharp claws on her feet.

In that split second I had to make a decision immediately. I will die if I continue to fight in this way. The monster HP bar was still more than 70%, since my attack had not had much impact on him.

Unlike my condition which has been battered several times. Plus the supply of potions where also limited. I can't run out of mana and pass out in this dungeon.

I still have the last ‘gun’, which is the status point. I haven't used it since the first day of the Daily Quest. I used to want to use the status point after determining the fighting style, but now the conditions are very urgent. I have to increase my strength and speed to defeat the Nightshade Raven.

I set my foot on the ground, in one push my body was thrown far ahead and could avoid the Nightshade Raven's stomping foot.

After activating the Shadow Move skill, my movement speed increased. My feet braked on the ground, then turned back towards Nightshade Raven. Both my legs quickly stepped towards him. Nightshade Raven who saw my arrival tried to throw me with a slash of sword winds, but all I could avoid.

My legs became very light and all the objects that passed in front of my eyes seemed to move more slowly. I could read all the movements of Nightshade Raven and dodge the attacks of her dart feathers.

“Now, it's my turn to attack,” I said as I stared intently at his eyes.

In a single jolt, my body floated into the air. I turned around and shot up the Nightshade Raven's body. I put all my strength into the punch and I punched the monster's body.

Nightshade Raven's body was instantly pushed to the surface, cracking the ground and collapsing until it formed a large hole in the center of the field. The HP Nightshade Raven bar line was significantly reduced. Thin, my lips curled into a smile. For the first time since meeting the dungeon boss, I felt confident that I could defeat him.

I won't give her a break. While Nightshade Raven was trying to get up, I launched a follow-up attack with a Whisperblade incision. Both of my hands moved very quickly giving a prick and a slash to his body.

I felt the adrenaline rush through my body, increasing my speed and attack. My heart rate sounded really fast, my body was hot, both my arms were sore but I didn't want to stop. I kept attacking him blindly.

When I saw the Nightshade Raven HP bar was 15% left, I jumped into the air and twisted my body so that my head was facing down. Both of my legs jolted in the air, producing an energy that pushed my body darting towards him quickly.

“Hyaaaah!” I exclaimed as I slashed both blades right at Nightshade Raven's neck. Blood poured out from the monster's neck. I heard the last crack from him before the giant crow finally collapsed onto the grass.

I landed on my knees. Both my hands are still shaking. Sounds like shards of things. Whisperblade destroyed.

I don't have the energy to check the screen on the system. I just heard some incoming notification messages. The feeling of fatigue overwhelmed me. My breath hunts no crap. My head is so dizzy and my skin feels cold.

[Warning! Fatigue Level increased by 80%]

I staggered towards the corn barn. On a flat board, I lay down my body in a recumbent position.

“Pain Absorber? Looks like I need that,” my murmur. After I activated the passive skill, the pain all over my body gradually disappeared. I breathed a sigh of relief, relieved by pain.

My eyelids feel heavy. The atmosphere is so calm and peaceful. Plus the breeze that blows more and more tempting myself to rest for a while in the place.

Maybe it's okay if I take a little nap.

The last thing I saw before my sight turned dark was my profile status.
