The Train to The Dungeon

The Train to The Dungeon
Chapter 12: The Moon Orchid Guild

I'm heading to the Craftsman Building. The building has 25 floors and is always crowded visited by Hunter. Once inside, I was greeted by a thick medieval feel. Anyone who designs the interior of this building hall deserves a thumbs up because it manages to create an atmosphere like in a fantasy world.

Some Hunters were seen queuing in front of the Money Exchange counter. Money Exchange is here to exchange dungeon money for rupiah money. The Hunter knows three types of currency, namely copper, silver and gold.

One copper is equivalent to 75,000 rupiah, while one silver is equivalent to 350,000 rupiah and 1 gold is equal to 750,000 rupiah. It was no wonder the top-ranked Hunters could get rich quick, considering they were paid a minimum of silver coins.

To the left of the hall are restaurants and cafes, many Hunters who are resting while enjoying a snack or a big meal there.

Riding the elevator, I headed to the third floor. The third to fifth floors are devoted to selling raw materials. Here, the Hunters could exchange the materials they could for dungeon currency.

I passed by the small shops whose displays displayed various plants, animals, to a barrage of monster bones. Some Hunters seem to be negotiating with shop owners, some are sorting out raw materials as well.

“Ah, meet the shop,” my word.

The Fae Ferns store is like a specialty store selling raw materials in general. There are decorations and ornaments of vines around toko—featuring the specilization of the store. Fae Farns's writing was printed on the door with a unique wooden decoration. The glass display displays bottles with various plants that have been dried.

I went inside, I saw a white-robed young man standing behind me. He was negotiating with the shop owner.

“Welcome!” greet the shopkeeper when he sees my presence. The robed young man looked over. However, he looked indifferent.

I frowned. I thought that young man was Guild Leader Moon Orchid, but why would his reaction be like that. Guessing there will be no end, I better ask directly.

The shopkeeper went inside to take the payment money, seeing the chance I had directly approached the young man.

“What Are You Guild Leader Moon Orchid?” my many.

The glasses boy looked surprised. He looked at me again and blinked a few times.

“You Arkana Ganendra?” he asked, as if he could not believe it.

Ah, I guess. He didn't recognize me because my face was different from the photo on ID.

“True, it's me.”

He hurriedly opened his phone. Must be re-checking the photo in ID with my real face at this time.

“Different far yes, I reached pangling, haha,” he said accompanied by bitter laughter.

“It's okay, you're not the first person to react like that,” I said while laughing because I remember the incident this morning at home.

“Greetings, I'm Denis Wardana, Guild Leader Moon Orchid,” greet him while hand thrusting.

I regretted it back. “Greetings, Chairman.”

“Quite call Denis.”

He doesn't look like the Guild Leader I used to meet. His face looked earthy and a little melancholic. I didn't feel a high tone in his words and he looked at me as an equal to him. However, it was no wonder that people seemed to be the Chairman of a less popular Guild. I even just heard the name of the Moon Orchid Guild this time.

“I'm very happy because there is Porter who finally wants to take our commission,” Denis said. “Are you ready if we leave this afternoon?”

“No problem,” reply.

“Good. I'll give you a brief information, this Dungeon we entered is a Tier 3 Dungeon, I see in your ID is a Rankless Hunter, huh? Don't worry, you're quite behind me. I'll protect you and your job is just to help me carry the goods.”

“I understand,” respond me. “How many people will depart from the Guild?”

“Only me.”

“What?” I gawk.

Denis scratched his head. “Ah that, because our guild members a little, but a lot of client requests, so the ones serving in each dungeon are usually no more than three people. Hehe.”

I can only reply with a concerned look.

Finished taking care of the payment, Denis paid to the Money Exchange first. We also agreed to meet at Block M Station.

There is still time, I decided to exchange monster materials first.

My hand pushed against the glass door of a store dominated by red brick. Inside was full of decorations of monster skins and bones on display. On the cashier table there is a large inscription “Toko Abah”.

“Welcome, Hunter!” greet a muscular old man with gray hair. “You sell material? Or want to buy? There is 10% discount for Cowbishop skin!”

“No, I just want to sell material.”

“Oh, can-can. For a moment, I picked up the catalog first,” The man in his mid-50s slid into the room behind his cashier's desk.

Meanwhile, I operated the system menu and opened the Inventory. A dark circle appeared in the air, my hands went inside and pulled one by one the material from there.

The owner of the store it—Abah, come carrying a thick catalog. His eyes instantly glared at the pile of raw materials on the cash register table. Some even stacked on the floor.

“A lot! This is the representative of which Guild?”

“No, I hunted him myself.”

Abah's eyes narrowed, looking at me doubtfully. I just put on an innocent smile. I'm telling you honestly, the rest is up to him.

Abah came out of his cashier's desk and checked one by one the materials I carried with the contents of the catalog.

“Quality of these items is good,” murmured. “The cut is neat and does not damage the important parts.”

I silently watched. I don't know what the reaction would be if I told you the material was collected automatically by the system.

He then went back to his cashier table and started calculating my income.

“Hey, son, come here!” call him thirty minutes later. With a step of spirit I approached his desk. “Let me read to you.”

“Gnawtail’s Hair 134 pieces, Gnawtail’s Claw 142 pieces, Gnawtail’s Meat 124 pieces, Corn Bandit’s Meat 120 pieces, Corn Bandit’s Blood 116 bottles, Golden Straw 112 pieces, and Raw Fiber 120 pieces, respectively, total all of them are 4,163 copper and 2,000 silver.”

My jaw almost fell upon hearing the total payment from Abah. The old man placed two brown bags filled with copper and silver coins on the table.

“This is the payoff,” Abah said as she shifted the pouch towards me. “You taken no?” tanyanya for seeing me just silently gawking.

“Ah, i–iya,” reply, groggy. My hand trembled as I carried the two bags out of Abah's shop. It still feels like a dream. The number of coins if awarded can reach 1 billion.

“This is not a dream?” ask me while pinching my hand. Be ill. It turns out to be real.

I'll exchange these coins later after completing the mission with Denis. Meanwhile, I put the money in Inventory first, and then I went to Block M Station.

I took the second-floor escalator at Blok M Station. It appears that the Hunters have formed a long line in front of the guardrail, awaiting the arrival of the DRT. Denis waved his hand from a distance, he looked conspicuous with his robe and white long clothes.

“What material will we look for?” ask me when I get to his place.

“Plant named Dragon’s Breath, have you heard?”

I'm shaking.

“That's a rare and very valuable plant, our Guild client is a conglomerate family, one of their family members is very sick and needs a super elixir to cure his disease,” Denis explained.

“Dragon’s Breath can cure anything?”

Denis nodded. “Tumor, cancer and HIV/Aids drug research is progressing since the discovery of this plant, but due to the limited amount of Dragons’ Breath becomes rare and expensive.”

“Know where if in this dungeon there is Dragon’s Breath?”

“In our Guild there are several dungeon ecology researchers, based on Hunter Influencers vlog on the internet, they analyze the ecological conditions in the past video compared to the habitat literature records of Dragon’s Breath.”

“Then your member's writing reached the client?”

“Clients actually know first because they have an insider in the Hunter Association, they directly contact us and confirm the existence of Dragon’s Breath.”

I'm nodding. It turned out that way the work of the Union which has a specialization of material seekers. It must take a long time to build client connections and trust until they can get a task like this.

“The train is coming,” Denis said. He looked at me. “Sorry, please bring this tool yes, my back is sore because daritadi shouldered it.”

“No problem,” I said while attaching the big brown bag on the back.

The guardrails opened and the Hunters flocked into the carriages.

I saw the window of the DRT through a blue tunnel and out in a large cave. The ceiling of the cave is decorated with plants shaped like anemones that emit a blue light.

While on the side of the train tracks I could see a brown ground decorated with red mucus. Samar, my nose smells of foul scent. As soon as the carriage door opened, the stench grew stronger and pierced his nose. A few non-powerful Hunters instantly vomited on the spot.

Representatives of the Hunter Association who supervised this activity spoke with loudspeakers.

“Paution, Hunter! This is the third day since the Dungeon appeared, the location of the dungeon boss has yet to be found, so I ask that all prioritize hunting down the dungeon bosses so that this portal can be closed immediately!”

“It's been three days?” I asked Denis. “How long was it?”

“This Dungeon has many tunnels branching out, so it is difficult to find the location of the boss,” Denis replied.

The ground surface of the cave was sticky and caused an uncomfortable sensation. There was a sound of “plak-plak” when our shoes stepped on it. There were strange flowers spitting out rotten-scented red powder. Occasionally, there was a green liquid dripping from the end of the cave's staglatite. I immediately put on a hoodie because I didn't want my hair to get hit by the liquid droplets.

The Hunters began to move in small groups, entering one by one the tunnel doors that were there. When I was about to catch up with Denis, my shoulder was nudged violently by someone.

I turned towards the person, my eyes glaring at him instantly. Hatred, anger and resentment burst forth at once, taking possession of my mind and heart.

Anto!

Bad memories inside the Treasure Room were like being played back. My hand reflexively gripped both of my arms. That man once rinsed me in the Treasure Room. He was one of the people who left and let me die inside the dungeon. He's killer.

My ears hear a distinctive laughter, very familiar. The curly-haired man who walked after Anto was Malih. Another person appeared who caused me to be killed. They both appeared to be wearing full armor in red and white.

The Red-White Knight Guild Uniform. It turned out that they had already joined a Guild and seemed to have gained a decent position. It seemed that several other members of the Red-White Knight were walking tail behind them.

There were nine people including Anto and Malih, they all walked towards the same tunnel as me and Denis.

“Denis,” call me, half whisper.

Denis stopped his steps and turned around. “Why?”

“Do we have to go into this tunnel? Is there no other way?”

Denis shakes. “From the guild's analysis note, this tunnel has a habitat that best suits Dragon’s Breath.”

There's no other choice. Inevitably I had to walk the same path as Anto and Malih.

“Denis, be careful,” I said, warning.

“Thank you, but, worry about your safety first, Arka.”

He said so because he did not know my true abilities. He also had no idea there were two rotten Hunters who would walk in the same tunnel as him.

“Hey, you two!” Anto suddenly exclaimed. He looked at me and Denis. “You are from which Guild?”

“My name is Denis, from the Moon Orchid Guild and he's the Porter I hired.”

It seems like Anto didn't recognize me. Maybe because my physical condition has changed completely. He must have thought I was dead, too.

“Oh, Porter!” Malih. “I also know a Poter, he used to always be a burden in our Party.”

“Yes, but he's dead,” timpal Anto. “Biasalah, Low rank Hunter likes a lot of style and eventually dies due to his own carelessness.”

Sloppy? I'm dead because of you guys, you son of a bitch!

My emotions almost exploded right then and there, but the words that shot out of Denis' mouth instantly dampened my anger.

“Porter is mostly low-ranked Hunter, but it is our high-ranked obligation to protect them. It is already in the contract agreement.”

Anto's facial features changed, he immediately disliked Denis. Denis's straight attitude and naive mind were something Anto hated most. The man grumbled and then turned around.

“As far as you are, we have reminded ya. That porter will soon burden you!”

Malih. “Anto said like that just to wish, because you guys are taking the same path as us. Remember, don't be a burden to us.”

Denis and I let the nine men enter the tunnel first. After they were gone, I saw Denis folding his hands to his chest and snorting.

“Alright once the porter has to work with them,” he said.

I didn't answer, but I did it in my heart. I did suffer a lot while working with Party Bothunter.

Then Denis and I went into the tunnel. The air inside was moist, a fishy aroma spread out and many puddles were at foot-high. Eve did not feel good to propagate from the depths of the tunnel, making me sure that there were strong monsters residing in this place.
