The Train to The Dungeon

The Train to The Dungeon
Chapter 34: Abandoned Temple

Morning has arrived. I woke up feeling better and fresher than last night. It was not like being inside an S-level dungeon. It's too casual, even the Cornfield dungeon I first entered isn't this calm. I even had time to make breakfast with Portable Couldron.

After breakfast, I am ready to continue my journey. My feet moved closer to the lake. Last night, I got a pretty interesting item. I read its usefulness briefly.

My finger moved open the inventory menu, then touched the column containing the image of the powder container.

In front of me came something like micin powder. However, after I looked carefully it was an ordinary white powder.

[Item: Surface Tension Powder

Item Class: A

Type: Powder

Special powder sprinkled on the ankle. This powder can make its user walk on any liquid. Duration of use 60 minutes]

“This thing is according to what I need at this time.”

In front of me was a huge lake. If I go around this lake, then my time will be cut off even more. The fastest path is straight across the lake. The problem is, the lake is very large. If I force a swim, I may die of exhaustion in the middle of the lake before even seeing the edge.

However, with the Surface Tension Powder item, I was able to overcome the problem.

I put the white powder around the shoes.

It was pretty stressful to do a test. But I do enjoy this feeling enough. When the heartbeat is racing, there is an erratic sense of anxiety in the head. The answer can be found just by trying it directly.

I took a deep breath, just in case I fell into the lake. After that, my feet moved quickly forward.

The surface of my shoes touched the surface of the water and it felt like stepping on top of something solid. The water surface feels stable and does not sway. Solid as above ground. My eyes were so full of amazement.

“I walk on water!”

I screamed with excitement as I ran across the lake. Running on the water was much more exciting than I imagined. I'm not worried about the monsters in the lake either because most of them were killed last night. There were one or two giant fish that tried to eat me, but all I managed to defeat with a single attack.

It only took thirty minutes, I finally made it across the lake.

From this place, the distance to Abandoned Temple was already getting closer. I ran straight through the forest, getting closer to the old abandoned building.

Some monsters in the form of bears, spiders and mushrooms appeared to attack me, but I could all clear up in an instant.

Again, I feel this dungeon is too easy. There was indeed a slight obstacle yesterday because I was attacked by many monsters at the same time, but it did not necessarily make this dungeon difficult.

The trees on the left right are getting rarer. Finally I came out of the forest and stopped right in front of the old building— - an abandoned temple.

The architecture of the building reminds me of the temples in Myanmar. The gold-plated box-shaped stones compose a magnificent building that looks unkempt. Roots of plants spread and grow decorate the temple building. Then there was a big tree that grew in the middle like it was wading through an entire building.

I was stunned for a moment to see the splendor and mystical aura of the place. As soon as I entered the temple grounds, my nose caught a fragrant scent. On the left right of the road that I went through there are two large ponds surrounded by flower gardens.

The temple has two layers of unlocked gates. All in open position. Right and left of the gate was guarded by two statues that were like human— carrying spears and shields. His entire body was lined with armor that looked heavy.

I stopped in front of the closed temple entrance. The door looked fragile, but I felt a strong pressure from inside.

Not only did my heart beat faster, but my instincts called for increased alertness. There is something unusual in this temple.

Cold sweat ran down the temple, my lips touching a smile, enthusiastically filling my chest. The monsters that were inside this temple were probably much stronger than the ones before.

My hand felt the empty air and reflected back. Unseen to the eye, there is a kind of thin sheath that protects the surrounding of the temple.

“Maybe it's time to use lock.”

I opened the inventory and took out the Abandoned Temple’s Key item. The key in my hand is gold in color, the handle has a beautiful liana carving. On his head was a tree with two circles.

When I brought the end of the lock closer to the protective layer, a system screen appeared before me.

[Welcome to Player!]

[Item required Abandoned Temple’s Key (1/1)]

[Please enter!]

My keys are gone into a golden dust grain. I think it's safe to move forward now. My feet also climbed the area that had been blocked by a protective shield. Nothing happened, I managed to reach this abandoned temple.

The tring!

I observed the screen containing the progress of the quest, there was still a lot left unfinished. I just hope that inside this temple there will be enough monsters. At least, to meet the amount requested by the quest.

My feet stepped into the temple mouth of the building whose left right was covered by the roots of the vines. It's so dark inside. As my eyes were about to begin to adapt, suddenly the torch around the walls of the entrance hall lit up.

The inside is composed of gold-coated blocks. Even the torch was made of gold.

I can see clearly. The atmosphere inside the temple was indeed brighter, but the atmosphere still felt gripping. I have to be careful, don't let my guard down and watch if there's a trap.

My Super Sense felt a tremor on the surface. There's another creature inside the temple, it must be a monster. The numbers are quite large, they do not hide but seem to gather in certain parts inside this temple.

I touched the walls of the hallway, as soon as the sensors on my skin received information about the rooms and the street in the temple. There are some parts of the locked room, my Super Sense ability cannot reach it.

The hallway was filled with winding roads, but it was not too complicated and the street branches were few.

“Maybe it's simpler than I imagined,” my mumbling, a little quiet.

The hallway I went through began to turn into a large and spacious hall. The inside of the hall has glass decorated with colorful ornaments. There was a floral motif and a knight there. Among the magnificent golden pillars were a much larger torch as a source of illumination.

As I looked around, I heard footsteps. From one of the hall doors, out a creature.

Its height reached two meters, its entire body was made of wood wrapped around and adhesion. Both of his hands were split and large. His head was shaped like a blooming flower.

My eyes scanned the monster. Wicked Woody, the monster had a name written in yellow. That is, he is a little stronger than my current level.

The monster looked at me and let out a strange scream. The sound is typical with a long and repetitive ‘kek’ sound. When I blinked, the monster was suddenly already in front of me.

“Sial, she is very fast.”

Thanks to Super Sense I managed to dodge the blow. Not only was it nimble, the monster's punches and kicks were extremely powerful. The roots on both of his arms moved and formed something on the back of his hand. The shape is long and sharp.

“He made a sword?’

Wicked Woody came forward and attacked me again with two new weapons in his hand. I can dodge, but it's hard to find the gap from the monster's movements.

Too fixated on Wicked Woody, I didn't realize there was another monster in the room. It crept from the top of the pillar. When I turned his back, the monster suddenly jumped up and ambushed me from behind. His claws made of very sharp wood— pierced the flesh on my body and left deep wounds.

The monster went backwards, I turned around to scan its name. Crawler Cutree, the name is also written in yellow. He crept on the floor, moving with all four legs like a spider. He was very agile and managed to ambush me several times.

At the same time, I was also cornered by Wicked Woody's attack. My body was drenched in blood, hit by a Wicked Woody sword and a bite from Crawlerr Cutree.

I jumped backwards, giving enough distance from the monsters.

“Heal.” I healed myself. Meanwhile, both of my hands tightened the grip on the handle of the weapon. My eyes stared intently at the two monsters.

“I won't underestimate the monsters in this dungeon again.”

My feet are putting on attacking horses.

“This time, I will reply to your attacks.”
