That afternoon, drizzle down to discuss Jakarta. I stepped out of the bank carrying a black umbrella. I was glad that all my parents' debts were gone. After Denis transferred the money, I went straight to the bank to pay my parents' debts.
I smiled slightly looking at my account balance on the device. The billions of money was instantly ludes to be used to pay the debt. I used to think even working a lifetime, I wouldn't be able to pay off their debts. I know it's impossible to raise 3.5 billion rupiahs just by working as Porter, but I still do it because there's no other choice.
Now, that huge burden has been lifted completely off my shoulders. My facial expression is more relaxed. The feeling of ‘plong’ in the chest is difficult to describe, but my footsteps so it feels light. The dark fog that blocked my path seemed to disappear. Now, I'm free from the snare of the fucking debt.
Right, I need to inform Aunt Tara.
I sent a photo of the debt receipt to Aunt Tara. Not long after, a reply message from him appeared. Most of them were questions about where I got that kind of money. He was also worried that I was criminal about getting money instantly.
My fingers are pinching the phone, replying to Aunt Tara's various fears with soothing words. Thankfully, he finally believed that I got that kind of money from selling rare dungeon materials. Aunt Tara thanked me and congratulated me.
Aunty Tara: To celebrate, tonight I will cook a delicious meal! Come home quickly, Arka!
I chuckled reading a message from him, then gave a quick answer, “Oke” accompanied by a funny sticker.
“The big problem is in order,” muttered me while putting the phone back in my pocket. “Now, just waiting for Denis back to Jakarta.”
Four days ago, I contacted Denis and invited him to meet to discuss the cooperation with the Moon Orchid Guild. Unfortunately, Denis was attending a conference in Surabaya along with his supervisor.
I also just found out that Denis is a doctoral student at one of the country's top universities. It was hard to imagine how he divided his time taking care of the guild by doing his college duties.
The tring!
The sound of an incoming notification, I guess from the system, turned out to be from a cell phone. I saw on the screen, there was a message from the Hunter Association. They are holding an event at the Jakarta Convention Center. The event included career consultations, free medical check-ups, weapons and armor sales, and Guild Registration booths for Hunters seeking to join the guild.
The event was quite large, they also rented one Hall to wear themselves. There must be a lot of Hunter's coming.
“Did I sign up for Re-Registration?”
When he last talked to Denis, he advised me to join the Re-Registration. It was because he wasn't sure that I was a Rankless Hunter.
I sighed, even up to this second I did not have any elemental information in my profile status. I also did not experience the Rebirth phenomenon. After all, this me cannot be called a fully Hunter.
My strength has indeed increased drastically, which makes me curious and want to check it out during the Re-Registration. Who knows, I'll get a new rating. If so, I'll be the only one capable of ranking updates.
If one were to experience Rebirth and the Hunter Association had already established its Rank, then it was a permanent Rank. Wanting as hard as the Hunter practiced, its rank would never change. He would remain at that rank no matter how great his skill was in using elemental power.
Likewise, the same case with me. No matter how strong I am at the moment, if I do not pass the assessment of the Hunter Association, it means that I will remain at the level of a Hunter Without Rank.
I thought doing the Re-Registration wouldn't be long, I'd be home in the afternoon and I'd be home before Maghrib. Besides I have no activities today, all the Daily Quest I've done.
“Alright, I go there then,” break me, round.
I stopped one of the roadside taxis, then sped up to the Jakarta Convention Center building.
...***...
The entrance to Hall B Jakarta Convention Center is crowded, crowded by the Hunters. There was a long queue in front of the entrance, each Hunter took out their ID and did a scan with the attendant of the Hunter Association.
Inside the spacious room that has been decorated looks some booths belonging to the Hunter Association. Behind him was a large stage and a host was interviewing one of the Hunters. It seems to be one part of their series of events.
I opened the booth plan on the device while walking around. There were rows of booths selling armor in the form of clothing. The booth next to it sold various types of weapons, such as swords, axes, arrows and daggers. There is also an alchemy booth. This booth sells various types of potions, one of the most popular is potions.
The alchemy booth was in the middle and its size was quite spacious. Lined glass shelves display various types of potions. However, the fastest one to run out was the healing potion.
All this time the Hunters could only treat their wounds relying on potions. Potions are expensive then the ability of the healer is also getting greater. Like the potion I'm looking at right now, listed on the price tag reached 5 million rupiah per bottle. This potion is able to treat large wounds such as bleeding until the function of the organ fails.
“Oh, thiskan?” I recognized one of the small-sized potions located in the etalse. The potion filled with red liquid was exactly what I had in the Inventory. The Small HP Potion. My eyes glared at the sight of its selling price reaching 7.5 million per bottle, for such a small healing potion.
While I have 20 bottles in Inventory and I have never used them. It was a small one, not a medium one. However, I have no desire to sell it. The items provided by the system were too valuable to sell.
I've finished touring the trading area and now circling the union booths. There were over 30 guilds setting up new member registration booths. Each booth of the guild was also trying to show its uniqueness.
For example, a Guild called Babi Ngepet. This Guild is included in the 50 Best Guilds in Indonesia. They put a pig stealth statue in front of the booth, then there are members who wear costumes in the form of wild boars. They offer a Hunter-Hunter who passes in front of the booth to join. Some of the Hunters seemed interested and started visiting the registration desk at the booth.
Turns out driving around like this is fun too. However, I cannot linger, it can be bad if I go home too late. I rushed to the Hunter Association booth located in the front left corner, close to the stage.
That's when my eyes caught the Hunter troupe wearing uniforms. The women wore black red uniforms with white belts, black leggings and knee-length boots. While the men in his uniform are dark blue and black. On their chests was the logo of Hunter Academy.
“There are students of Hunter Academy here?”
I watched from the direction of the entrance, it seemed like the students from the Hunter Academy had just arrived and they were in a large group. Maybe one force.
“Are they having activities around here, then decided to stop by?”
I put my shoulder down. Don't want to care too much. However, as I was about to continue walking, my shoulder unintentionally nudged a girl I recognized. Especially because his face is very similar to Aunt Tara.
“Chika?” i'm calling.
The long-haired brown girl turned around. His round eyes with plump eyelashes looked at me confused.
“Who are you?” ask Chika.
“I Arka, when you forgot?” reply while laughing.
Her graceful figure instantly disappeared, replaced by an expression of overwhelming shock.
“Chika, why you?” his friend who was walking beside him attended the girl with a worried look.
Chika ignored her friend and walked over to me. “Lies, you can't be Arka!”
“OK, if this is how you must believe,” I crossed my arms while throwing a ignorant smile. “You do not like toge and pickle, if the order of chicken noodles must be a lot, if you buy Mang Asep porridge always ask without nuts, never bring a girlfriend to the house but to the sea Aunt Tara, ever—.”
“OK, okay, enough!” cut Chika. His face looked panicked.
He lifted his head and looked at my face, I could see a red tinge appearing on his cheek. The girl hurriedly threw away her face.
“Try sending chat. If you are Arka, send a chat to me now,” challenge Chika. It seems he still does not believe.
I complied and sent a chat containing random sentences to Chika's number. A message came in, Chika hurriedly opened it. He had an expression I could guess.
The girl turned her head towards me, “You really are Arka.”
“Kan told you,” I sighed.
Suddenly two girlfriends who had been with Chika approached her. They dragged Chika behind and whispered while occasionally glancing at me. Next I can hear Chika screaming.
“What the hell? If you want acquaintance, say it yourself with the same person!”
I tried to hold back the laughter. There has never been a girl in my entire life who asked me to introduce her. I just experienced it. It doesn't feel bad either.
“Chika,” call me, instantly distract the three girls. I'm so groggy being stared at by three beautiful girls like them. I cleared my throat to take care of my wife. “What Hunter Academy is having an event? Tumben saw you guys coming to a place like this.”
“Oh, actually we are out of training in a dungeon near here, then when we go home there is information about the event from the Hunter Association, one-way so all stop by,” explained Chika.
“One generation?”
“True, only my force.”
“Many also yes,” I'm mangosteen.
“How about yourself? No schedule to be a Porter today?” ask Chika.
“I'm on leave.”
Chika is the only daughter of Aunt Tara. I've lived with him since he was in High School. In the past, Chika had never looked at me this softly. Usually he throws a slurred glint every time I talk. Every time I ask him, Chika won't ask me back. He only answered as necessary and then snorted while leaving me.
“Is she this good because of my changed physique?” I muttered while laughing.
Chika saw me, astonished. “So silent, now suddenly laugh. Answer my question first, what do you need in JCC?”
“Oh, I want Re-Registration.”
“Didn't you ever Register as Hunter?” ask Chika.
“Nothing, just want to make sure reset. Although the results may not change,” my answer interspersed with bitter laughter.
“Alright then, I want to look around the armor first,” Chika said as she turned around. “See you again, Arka.”
I waved to him. Hospitality just now, maybe I won't get it if my body is still the old Ark. People treat you differently, depending on your physical appearance. Not something strange, but still painful.
I finally arrived at the Re-Registration. I approached the table with an officer from the Hunter Association and asked to do a Hunter Rank scan.
“Alright, wait a minute yes,” said the attendant. “For a while, please wear this.”
That Hunter Association officer gave me a badge that I had to put on my body. This badge includes a person's Hunter level. Since I have done a scan and the result is Hunter Without Rank, then I wear a white badge that says”Zero”. A real Hunter would wear a gold badge and it would have been written S to E.
From the scanning booth, out came a student from Hunter Academy. He looks much younger than his friends. His body was slightly shorter than Chika, but the look in the eyes of this boy was sharp and his expression was very serious.
I walked up to the room and as I passed by, I heard the boy muttering, “Junk.”
My head automatically turned back and looked at his back which was walking away from the Hunter Association booth. My hands clenched with restraining emotions. “He said trash, that means me, right?”
“Sorry, please get into the booth immediately yes,” remember the Hunter Association officer in charge of scanning.
I took a deep breath, threw away my frustration, then entered the room.
Inside there is a large chair that can be set to the back of his legs and head. I sat there, half-broken and the Hunter Association officer began to put a bracelet on my left hand. This bracelet is in charge of identifying the flow of power from the dungeon. Hunters usually have such streams, while ordinary humans do not.
The Hunter Association attendant activated the scanning device, the machine above my head that was shaped like a solar panel started to flash one by one on.
Suddenly, the phone in my pocket shook violently. Simultaneously, the sound of sirens appeared inside Hall B. My ears heard it clearly, the announcement from the Hunter Association.
“Consideration! There's been an Outbreak! We repeat, there is an Outbreak in West Jakarta Area. Up-to-date information, the territory already controlled by monsters is...”.
The officer from the Hunter Association had not even finished his announcement yet, but I immediately got up and took off the bracelet in my hand. I ignored the voice of the officer in the room who asked me to return. In my head right now there's only Aunt Tara. He's in danger.
