Chapter 23: The invasion

I managed to destroy the fourth and third settlements. However, how many goblins tried to run away from my surveillance. They jumped over the sharp fences and tried to escape to the very end of the settlement. However, Chika and Ravi who were watching the place tightly instantly finished off the goblins who were trying to escape.

The spinning machine in both hands Chika gave off an electric spark, at the same time the threads decomposed and Chika immediately shot quickly to the goblins. He jumped on them, his arms moving in a certain pattern, as the unraveling threads moved and bound the bodies of the goblins.

As Chika exclaimed, electricity spread out and shocked the goblins to a scorch. They died instantly.

Ravi chases after the Goblin Raider horde which tries to escape towards the forest. He spread out his hands, the wind whirled around him and instantly lifted the young man's body two meters from the ground.

Using the force of the thrust from the wind, Ravi darted out quickly, like flying. He reached a sufficient distance, his hands were raised upwards and formed an elongated wind cluster with a sickle-like arch.

Ravi hurled those sickle-shaped winds. Each attack from his sickle wind dismembered the bodies of the Goblin Raider and the animals they rode.

Some Goblin Raider seemed to show resistance. Those carrying arrows and javelins pelted Ravi with the weapon. Ravi moved nimbly dodging every attack, he threw down the wind behind him, his body advanced forward instantly and Ravi created a ball of wind in his hand. He shot the ball towards the Goblin Raider.

The ball had a spinning black wind core, as soon as it hit one of the goblins, it exploded and created a small vortex that sucked all the goblins and their mount animals inside. From the vortexes blood splashed. After the vortex subsided, the bodies of goblins in a twisted and bloody state fell to the surface.

Ravi and Chika did their job well. Now, I'm heading to the last two goblin settlements.

The two settlements are close together and appear to be wider than the previous three settlements. I need to raise my vigilance. As I expected, the further inward, the more Hobgoblin's existence would increase.

Suddenly, fireballs flashed from the direction of the guard tower located on the left right side of the settlement. I zigzagged to dodge every attack that came, then activated the Shadow Move Skill.

My footing suddenly wavered and my head felt heavy. A warning screen from the system appears.

I hurriedly glanced at the blue bar in the left corner of the view. My mana has been reduced by more than half. That was because I had been continuously using the Shadow Move Skill.

“I shouldn't just raise the STR or DEX stat,” my murmur.

I realized that there was one other stat to be raised, which was INT. INT does affect the amount of damage generated by magic attacks. Meanwhile, my attacks focused more on the physical. However, the skill that I used many times—Shadow Move, requires a lot of mana. Thats why. I felt I should immediately raise the INT stat to increase the amount of mana.

I took out one small bottle of mana potion from Inventory and directly drank it. Which bar is starting to add up. In addition, I also just realized the usefulness of an item in Inventory. Funny thing is, the item was already in my Inventory from the beginning, but I only realized its usefulness.

Getting the body condition back in prime, I also increased the running speed, then jumped high until arriving at the top of one of the watchtowers. I hung on the edge of the roof of the tower, then landed in the surveillance room. There are two Shaman Goblins. I killed them both.

There is one more tower. The ones standing guard up there were two Goblin Champions with arrows. They shot me from a distance. I managed to dodge all the attacks, then jumped to the other tower and immediately finished off the two goblins.

Long-range attackers have been overcome, now I jump into the middle of the settlement. I clenched my right hand, then punched the ground surface with all my might as I landed. The ground cracked and shattered, causing huge holes that knocked down the houses of the goblins instantly.

Some goblins fell into that big hole. I aimed for the position of the goblins around. When I cast the Shadow Move Skill, within a split second the heads of the goblins were already separated from their respective bodies.

I jumped in and out of the hole I made. Some Hobgoblins ran towards me while deploying weapons. I advanced while dodging every attack, occasionally, I kicked the bodies of those Hobgoblins. Sometimes, I cast a strong fist to thicken a giant that was five times the size of my body.

Grasscutter was drenched in the blood of Hobgoblins and Crimson Edge seemed to light up among the blood red color of the monsters that were emitting steam. I plucked both weapons from Hobgoblin's chest that I last killed.

I got a new title. Since I am currently fighting in a goblin nest, it is better to replace my title with Goblin Slayer.

Smoke trapped the settlement. As soon as Ravi arrived, he grabbed her with a gust of wind. Seen on the land that was once a settlement, now there are only large holes and building debris. I was standing on top of Hobgoblin's pile of corpses, cleaning the blades of his two weapons.

Upon seeing the presence of the two, I jumped down from the pile of bodies and landed in front of Ravi and Chika.

“How is the condition of the back?” my many.

“Aman, we have killed the rest,” replied Chika, spirit.

I nodded proudly at him. “Alright, stay last location.”

I turned around and stared at the most magnificent settlement at the end of the plain. The settlement looks vulnerable because it is located on the edge of the cliff that became the end of this plain.

The three of us stood not far from the settlement. There were several towering watchtowers with several Shaman Goblins and Champions on top. Then, a faint cry sounded, I was sure it belonged to the humans that these goblins kidnapped.

“Listen, I will go inside, then kill the remaining goblins,” I said, giving instructions to Chika and Ravi. “You two focus on saving the hostages and taking them out the portal. Understand?”

Chika nodded, but Ravi seemed to object. I can read it from the change in the look on the boy's face.

“There's something you want to say?” I asked Ravi.

“In this goblin nest there must be their boss,” said Ravi. “You will fight with him yourself?”

“Of course.”

“When there is no guarantee of winning? I can help!”

“You help Chika, protect the hostages until they get out of this place,” I replied, firmly.

“Ravi, stop, listen to the words Arka!” timpal Chika's. “I trust him, he can definitely overcome the boss of the goblins.”

Ravi still looked at me doubtfully, but a moment later he nodded.

I smiled at him thinly. “So much better.”

After splitting the task, I decided to go ahead first. The plan, I will make a fuss and distract all the goblins, including their bosses. Meanwhile, Ravi and Chika will start freeing the hostages.

My plan was shallow and rash, but this is all I can do.

I'm getting closer to the last nest. I was ready, both of my hands clasped tightly onto Grasscutter and Crimson Edge. After muttering the Shadow Move Skill, I snuck into the nest and killed their Goblin Shaman first.

My impromptu attack left the goblins shocked. When the Goblin Shamans were finished off, the Goblin-Goblin Champion started shooting at me with arrows, but I managed to pinch and kill them.

Hobgoblins emerged from within the brown-roofed houses, they carried swords and mace. I dodged the blow of the sharp object attack, slipped behind them and cut the back of the monsters' necks.

For a moment, the remaining goblins I managed to defeat. Safe conditions far outweigh my expectations. Ravi and Chika were able to enter freely and ran towards the four large confinements near the highest building of the settlement.

Inside there were eleven women locked up. Ravi instantly smashed the wooden door of the cage and took out everyone.

Chika looked confused, a moment later she called out to me.

“Arka, mom is not here!”

I'm appalled. If Aunt Tara isn't there, maybe she is…

I was just about to think of the worst possibility, but the screams of Aunt Tara suddenly broke the silence between us. I looked up, looking at the tall building I guessed was where the goblin tribe boss lived.

My eyes bulged, worried that my worst possibility was right.

Aunt Tara is currently in the grip of the monster.
