The Rose of De Haas

The Rose of De Haas
Chapter 33: Beledigd

"Let me drive the bike" Kees said quickly, taking over the wheel of Cecilion's bike amid the confusion surrounding the black-haired young man.

What really happened until Kees insisted on not explaining the situation?

Unwilling to waste more time thinking too far, Cecilion nodded in agreement and let Kees take over the wheel of his new bike.

Quickly, Kees pedaling the bike at high speed shot towards a place that even Cecilion had never thought of before.

"What's really going on, Kees? why are you asking me to leave in such a hurry?" asked Cecilion once more while tightly holding onto the shoulder of Kees who was riding his bike.

"How should I explain it..." Kees muttered, but continued pedaling the bike pedal quickly along with his heart rate which was now irregular because of the emotions that controlled him.

"Tell me what happened, Kees!" press Cecilion who had started to lose his patience, moreover the feeling of the young man now felt very uneasy.

"Roses... We have to find him quickly, I heard from my Papa that he will soon be betrothed to someone else" Kees said hesitantly, to be honest, he did not get the heart to say such a painful thing to Cecilion but he really had no other choice.

The bike driven by Kees finally arrived in front of a luxury restaurant in downtown Batavia, a destination that Kees had in mind considering the De Haas family often held meetings at the restaurant.

"I will go in first and look for the Rose" said Cecilion quickly who could only be responded with a nod by Kees.

Although his breath stung after pedaling a bicycle at high speed, Kees still moved quickly, he put his bicycle Cecilion on the edge of the restaurant yard and followed Cecilion into the restaurant.

All his life, it was only this time that Kees felt an extremely uncomfortable feeling like this. Indeed, he did not want the Rose to have to marry another man besides his best friend Cecilion.

Cecilion spread his gaze to all corners of the European-style restaurant room, looking for the existence of the lover with a raging feeling.

What's the connection and the rose will end up this painful way?

Cecilion really felt unprepared if he had to lose the Rose that he loved so much.

"Roses!" Cecilion reflexes screamed when a pair of his netra found the lover sitting in the left corner of the restaurant room with his parents.

In addition to his parents, there are also two foreign men who certainly managed to peck anger in Cecilion's chest.

Hearing his name called by the beloved, the beautiful eyes of the Rose are round in disbelief.

How could Cecilion know that he was here after all this time they had not met?

The Rose's chest was pounding, all the longing she had now poured out in the air after she looked at the face of her beloved.

The rose does not have the power to do anything now, it can only surrender to the situation.

"What are you doing here?" ask Cecilion while looking expectantly at the Rose.

The beautiful girl could only shake her head with tears that had already soaked her two eyes. He's so helpless.

"I should have asked you young master Van Der Linen, what are you doing here?" asked Mr. De Haas firmly.

"I came here because I had to take my lover away from here," replied Cecilion no less firmly with eyes fixed on a man who was sitting opposite the Rose and his family.

Mr. De Haas stood with fiery tears, his hands pounding the table to the point of making an unusually loud noise.

"My son will never allow me to get in touch with anyone from the Van Der Linen family, no matter if you are the only son of the governor of this city!" lord De Haas's wrath while pointing his index finger at Cecilion's field chest.

Cecilion only smiled at him, he did not feel daunted even though he had seen the anger of Mr. De Haas.

"Then what can you ask your daughter, who should she choose based on the wishes of her heart?" challenge Cecilion calmly.

Mrs De Haas tried to calm her husband's anger, but it still didn't work.

"Rose, who do you want?" asked Mr. De Haas still with his anger.

"Cecilion van der Linen, Papa. I want him no matter how rich William van de Beek is in front of me," replied the Rose firmly standing, looking confidently at the Papa.

Without waiting for an answer from his parents, Mawar inching away with Cecilion which certainly further ignited the emotions of Mr. De Haas that day.

"Hurry to my house!" whispered Kees was full of emphasis after finding Cecilion and Roses coming out of the restaurant.

A profitable coincidence because Kees house is located so close to this restaurant that they are easy to hide.

"Can't! I left all my savings at home!" exclaiming Roses that remembered his savings and some clothes that he had prepared for this emergency situation.

"Then hurry up," said Cecilion as he rode his bicycle, "we must leave now before your parents catch up!"

...****************...

Mr. De Haas looked at the pair of birds that were perching on the branch of a large tree in his front yard.

The middle-aged man's emotions are now mixed, between anger and worry because the Roses have really gone from home since the incident.

All day Mrs De Haas just cried lamenting her over-exercising attitude to marry Win without thinking about how the princess felt.

"This is all my fault." lamented Madame De Haas as she continued to wipe away her tears that continued to flow without stopping.

"Alright, baby. I'm also guilty of never listening to what he said about his feelings" Mr. De Haas replied lethargicly.

Mr and Mrs De Haas have been using all means to search for their daughter's whereabouts ranging from relying on police assistance to asking for help from their business colleagues but nothing has been done yet.

"Can I still live without my daughter?" madam De Haas asked regretfully.

The usually beautiful face of the Mistress is radiant now looks alarming with reddish eyes and her nose reddened like a burning bath.

He really did not expect that the Roses who had been obedient would take a step so far because they did not want to accept arranged marriages.

"Good day, Mr and Mrs De Haas" said a policeman who had just arrived at the residence of the De Haas family.

"Have you guys got any information on my daughter?" ask Mr. De Haas.

"It's a pity not yet, sir. They are completely gone even the special forces deployed by the governor have not been able to find them" he said.

"How much longer are you going to work?! I really can't live without my daughter!" Mr. De Haas exclaimed in anger, making the Babus who were sweeping the front yard of the house surprised.

"Sorry, Sir. I'll be back to work, excuse me,"

The policeman stepped up in a hurry, leaving the De Haas family residence afraid that Mr. De Haas' anger might explode again.

"Look, now Mr and Madam look like crazy people" Babu whispered to his co-workers while still working on sweeping the dried leaves on the front lawn.

"so. But they really have to pay a lot for their own selfishness, should they ask Miss first before deciding to match her with a foreign man she has never even met."

"Are you meeting that young master Van Der Linen? is he much more handsome than Mr Van De Beek?"

"Have it a few times! Hey, he's so handsome like he's not human! Because he's so young he's not as rich as Mr. Van De Beek, but his charisma is so incredible that I'm sure he can succeed at any job."

Secretly, the Babu and Jongos in the house did provide support to Rose to defend her love for Cecilion.

They can now only hope that the Roses and Cecilion can safely take shelter somewhere and start their new, better lives.
