Chapter 29: Dappere Bekentenis

"What are you guys doing? daring to tease my beloved," Cecilion said firmly with a sharp gaze like a pair of daggers, reminding the young men not to disturb the Rose.

The young men were stunned, shocked to hear the shocking statement of Cecilion van der Linen, the son of the famous Batavian governor in all parts of the city.

They were very unlikely that the Van Marwijk family also invited the Van Der Linen family at this wedding.

"Of course it's true! Did you see that the young men went silent after he said that the girl was his lover. If he's just a regular guy, how come they stop bothering that girl."

Such was the social life of the era, everything circulated from one mouth to another. Not caring about the social status of the person who became the hot topic of conversation, they continued to exchange rumors with each other.

"Are you okay?" cecilion asked in a softer tone to the Roses after they moved away from the youths.

"I'm fine, without you even coming I can actually face them myself," sahut Roses relaxed after taking the last gulp of his soda and then put his glass on an empty tray that was being carried by the waiter who was walking around.

Cecilion chuckled. "don't you be so tough, I'll have to protect you too."

The rose smiled sweetly. "Papa and Mama told me to always be tough to deal with everything. Don't you know how cruel the world is?"

Cecilion agreed with the words of his lover. In his heart he wanted to meet directly with Mr and Mrs De Haas who was very extraordinary in educating the only princess of his puppet.

"Your parents were very wise in education, I became envious. Very different from my parents who were busy with their respective affairs," Cecilion replied with a wry smile.

"Every parent has a different way of educating us where we can hit it flat," Rose said wisely, increasingly making Cecilion stunned.

"Look, there's a pair of very romantic birds in the corner of the party room," Greg's tease that came out of nowhere with his trademark wide smile.

"Congratulations on your marriage, brother. I've actually been looking for you since then but can only meet now" said Roses after realizing the existence of the owner of the show who looked stunning in a white suit.

Greg still maintained his smile.

"Thank you for coming, Rose. Yeah, I know. My mom said you were looking for me. But can you introduce me who this handsome young man is?"

"Ah, he's Cecilion van der Linen," Rose quickly replied, distributing her chin as a code to Cecilion to shake Greg's hand.

Greg shook Cecilion's hand with a friendly smile, while Cecilion smiled formally as he used to when meeting with the ranks of government officials who worked with the Papa.

Even at such a young age, Cecilion was already used to facing such official and rigid meetings.

"My name is Greg van Marwijk, nice to meet you," Greg said kindly, replied with a nod by Cecilion.

Cecilion smiled meaningfully, grabbing the Rose's petite hand into his grasp.

"Well, you're quick to understand, brother. Yes, me and Rose are dating. What do you think?" cecilion said making the Rose elbow the young man's ribs slowly.

Greg does not know anything about the dispute Mr. De Haas and Mr. Van Der Linen, making the Rose so wary if until Greg tells this to Mama and Papa.

It could be terrible if both parents knew that Rose was dating Cecilion!

"You guys are very suitable, I hope you can also get married soon," Greg said with a smile, hoping that his beloved sister could also soon find her soulmate.

"But, can you for a while not tell Papa and Mama first?" the Rose Pinta with a pleading highlight, made Greg become confused.

"Then I have to what if Greg gets caught telling my mom and dad?" Rose asked worriedly, afraid that Greg would forget and instead tell this to others.

"Yes, if something happens that is beyond our expectations I will immediately approach you no matter how," said Cecilion with full earnestness.

"But-"

Cecilion stuck his index finger on the Rose's lips, looking at the beautiful girl after the goal of making the Rose stop her sentence that was already at the tip of the tongue.

"Alright, sweetheart. You don't have to worry about anything like that, no matter what happens I will pick you up no matter who I have to face," said Cecilion determinedly.

For whatever sake, Cecilion is willing to do anything as long as he is not separated from the beloved Rose.
