Part 76 - Cunning Emma

Emma squeezed out the strong dress she was currently wearing, she really did not expect Nathan would be so bold as to bring Davira before Xie's extended family.

Emma's self-esteem feels stepped on by Davira, the woman doesn't know Nathan as much as she does. Davira should not have been standing together with Nathan, passing through the main entrance and being the center of attention.

He should be in that position, not Davira or any other woman. Seeing Nathan so adoring Davira made Emma's face feel slapped so hard. Nathan has rejected it indirectly, the man so deliberately shows everyone that he loves Davira very much.

Though Emma is convinced that if Nathan actually knows her feelings, Nathan must know very well that Emma loves him more than herself. Even Emma is willing to do anything to attract Nathan's attention and get the man's love.

But unfortunately all his efforts did not pay off, he was defeated by a woman named Davira Handoko who did not even fight for Nathan.

If Emma had sacrificed herself and almost died for Nathan, then tonight she would have done the same. He's going to do something crazy to get Davira out of Nathan's life without having to dirty his own hands.

The existence of Davira as a Handoko family's only daughter who incidentally is the main enemy of the Xie family is very appropriate, in this event all the family is gathered and crazy ideas certainly immediately crossed in Emma's brain.

Without considering many things and thinking about the risks, Emma immediately moved out of her chair and called one of her men.

"I want poison" he said after a connected call.

"Sorry Miss? Toxins?"

"Yes, I don't have to repeat it. Meet me at the Xie family meeting place and bring the most potent poison, a poison that can make someone instantly die on the spot, I need two bottles. Soon, and remember one thing, lest anyone find out about this, Lidya. Including my father, you understand?"

"Okay, Miss, I'll be there as soon as possible. We have such poison in the warehouse."

"I'll wait, '" Emma cut off her phone and sat back at her desk watching Nathan and Davira.

The anger that Emma keeps growing when Nathan and Davira join her desk, making her forced to smile and suppress her feelings.

After a while, he finally received a call from Lidya. Emma hurriedly rushed out of the building and immediately met Lidya who was waiting for her near the basement, lucky there was very quiet.

"The poison is really potent?" ask Emma who immediately got a nod of the head from Lidya.

"If mixed into wine will it work?" Emma immediately put in two small bottles of poison given by Lidya.

"This poison is so deadly Miss," Lidya replied making Emma smile on her side.

"Actually.....who will Miss poison? Isn't this the Xie family meeting?" tanya Lidya felt very curious.

Emma cleared her throat briefly then slightly approached Lidya.

"Because this news will certainly spread, I will tell you this so that you do not feel surprised and open your mouth. I'm going to poison Grandma Gayatri" said Emma, rounding Lidya's eyes a little.

"Why does Miss want to do that?" Lidya looked so surprised.

"Because Davira is inside, if Grandma's gone from poisoning, who will be accused besides Davira? One of these poisons I'm gonna put in Davira's bag, and the other one I'm gonna put in Grandma's drink. He'll die right away when he's done toast, and Davira? Can you imagine what's going to happen? Davira's going to be showered with bullets from Xie's extended family, I don't have to get my hands dirty to get rid of it."

"But Miss, that's a crazy idea. And why must it be Mrs Gayatri?"

"He's been planning a lot of things to get rid of Davira, so it would make sense if he was the first person Davira was targeting. After all she was old," Emma let out a long sigh.

"Remember Lidya, I trust you from now on. It will be the secret of both of us, sometimes it must be sacrificed and removed to have what we want. That's what my father always said."

Lidya looked at Emma in disbelief, Lidya did not expect that Emma's innocent face was just a mask. Lidya felt so shocked to hear such a devious plan coming out of the mouth of a woman like Emma.

Emma and Lidya suddenly gasped in shock and turned to the origin of the voice, seen someone who ran away making Lidya immediately chase after him.

"Damn," said Emma began to feel frightened.

Lidya immediately kicked the back of a security guard making him fall down, Lidya immediately dragged the man into the basement, Emma hurriedly followed him.

"You hear everything?" ask Emma while squatting.

"Armghh!' the sound of the security cry was held back when Lidya stabbed her thigh with a small knife that was certainly very sharp.

Lidya smothered him tightly, locking the man's movements with all her might. Emma stared at the name tag attached to the man's left chest.

"Dario Steffano, I know you heard it all. I won't kill you, you just have to shut up so no one knows about this. Because if anyone finds out, I'll not only kill you but your family. It's easy to do, so don't mess with me. I'll put a price on your silence."

Dario nodded slowly with a body that began to tremble in fear, because he knew very well who Emma was and where Emma came from.

Emma was stunned for a moment then looked at Lidya.

"You're an ordinary security, not a permanent guardian of the Xie family. Just the security of the building, it's worth it that you're easily defeated. But I think you can do something for me, you already know everything. Then make yourself useful."

Emma clutching Dario's jaw strongly made her long nails scratch the man's skin.

"Get into the cctv room, and take the footage from an hour earlier and then after the incident, take all the cctv footage and hand it over to me. Youunderstand?"

"Sa-I can't do it Miss," Dario looked so frightened.

"You can, and only the three of us know of this plan. I can't go to the cctv room, neither can my bodyguards. But you can, so do the job I give you. I'll give you an easy choice, do the job and keep your mouth shut anytime or be a corpse tomorrow with your wife's child?"

Dario was stunned in his place, both options put his life at risk. He did not want to die at this time, let alone his son and wife would also be killed if he refused the task of Emma. But if he accepts the task, then he will be involved in the murder case of one of the Xie family members, he can also die if caught.

"You've been thinking for too long, I don't have much time" Emma took the knife from Lidya's hand and pointed it at Dario's neck.

"Do my job and shut up, or die?" emma asked not to mess with her threat.

Dario swallowed his hard-earned salivary, wanting to scream, but Lidya pointed a gun at his head, he was actually at a dead end.

Dario was forced to nod his head in doubt making Emma smile on her side.

"Just calm down, Dario. Every thing has a price, I'll pay you, you'll be safe as long as your mouth is locked."

Dario was pensive in his place considering the events of that night, he never expected to be in the situation he was in. If he could choose, then he would never want to listen to Emma and Lidya talk at that time.

Now he had to leave with the misgivings that had always haunted him.

After receiving some money and handing over the cctv tape to Emma, Dario decides to run away with a copy of the tape in case the Xies suspect him. He'll hand over the tape as proof that he didn't have Gayatri poisoned.

Dario is forced to run away because he knows that Emma will not let him live, he is very sure that Emma will kill him if the situation starts to go awry.

Dario decides to flee before that happens, but his wife and son prefer to stay in Italy and go to their home village rather than run away with him.

Now Dario can only hope and pray that the two people he loves are not involved in his problems.
