Part 71 - Given Time

"Faster, Paul. I want to see my father soon."

"Okay, sir," Paul immediately added to his car's speed, splitting a fairly crowded highway.

Nathan stared out the window, looking up at the beautiful night sky of Rome. Nathan recalls Davira, he misses the woman when he just set foot in Rome.

Nathan smiles a little considering Davira continues to try to persuade him to come with him to Rome, but Nathan stays with his decision. He doesn't want to take any chances, Davira has to stay safe until everything works out.

In Rome it is very dangerous for Davira. Aaron, his father, and most of Xie's extended family are still searching for Davira.

The ringing sound of his phone is now heard, Nathan immediately reached for the flat object, Emma's name is listed on the screen of his phone. Emma keeps calling and texting him since he left her for the Dominican Republic, but Nathan knows Emma must be very angry with him.

Nathan finally decides to pick up the phone from Emma, he attaches his phone to her ear, the woman's voice starts to sound.

"Finally you picked up my phone, I was really worried about you, Nathan. Where are you actually going? You just left, you said you were going to Rome, but you lied to me."

"I'm sorry for that, Emma. There's a problem I have to solve, and I don't want you involved, that's all."

"So where are you now? Is Davira with you? You know Nathan? Your father was looking for you, he always asked me where you were because he knew I was following you to Saltykovka back then."

"I'm in Rome now, I'll see him."

"really? You....no are lying to me, are you?"

"No, Emma. Is there anything important? I'll turn off the phone if there isn't."

Emma let out a long sigh, "I want us to meet, and I wonder where you hid Davira? You can't be like that Nathan, your whole family is looking for him right now."

"I can't see you, there are still a lot of important things I have to take care of. I can't tell you about Davira's whereabouts, either, which she's obviously in a safe place."

"You don't trust me, Nathan?"

Nathan smiled faintly, "I can't trust anyone, especially after Aaron managed to track me down."

"W-what do you mean Nathan?"

"You know what I mean," Nathan immediately disconnected their phone unilaterally.

The man swiped the screen of his phone showing a picture of himself and Davira while on the beach, they both looked very happy making him always smile when he saw the photo.

In contrast to Emma who started to feel frightened, the woman walked back and forth in her room with an uneasy feeling.

"Nathan's in Rome, I have to see him. It seemed like he already knew that I told Aaron about Davira's whereabouts in Moscow back then," he murmured then chuckled in annoyance when he saw the wall clock that had already shown at 9 p.m.

Emma immediately remembered with Erick asking her to meet tonight, Emma had to make a decision. As for her life's safety, she must choose between pursuing Nathan's love, or becoming Erick's lover in order to gain protection from the man.

And Emma seems to have decided what steps she should take, Emma will not put her life in danger, and neither will Emma release Nathan.

"Please, sir," Paul opened the car door for Nathan when they were right in front of the mansion's main door.

Nathan immediately stepped down while removing his suit, leaving a black shirt attached to his athletic body.

Some of the guards looked surprised at his arrival, Nathan stepped calmly into the mansion along with Paul who was following him behind.

Nathan's footsteps stopped when he saw Julian coming down the stairs with a sexy woman whom Nathan didn't recognize at all.

Julian who was initially seen laughing is now immediately silent when he saw the presence of Nathan, Julian suddenly released his embrace of the woman who had been his mistress for one month.

Julian sped up his pace until he confronted Nathan.

Bugh.

The raw bogeman was immediately floated by Julian right about Nathan's jaw.

Bugh.

"How can you attack Aaron just to protect that woman?!"

Julian really looks overwhelmed with anger makes Paul and Jessica, his mistress feel anxious.

"I'm here to solve this problem Dad!"

"Recover? Did you bring Davira?! Are you going to kill him in front of Xie's extended family?!"

Bugh.

Julian punches Nathan in the face again until the corner of his son's lips is torn and bleeding, Julian pushes Nathan's body to make him fall to the table.

"Killing Davira is not a solution! Because he's not the culprit!" Nathan spat out a salty taste of the blood in his mouth.

"Then why are you showing yourself here?! You've betrayed the Xie family by saving the man who killed your own grandmother?!"

Julian looked at me sharply while pulling Nathan's shirt collar.

"Davira didn't do it! He never put that poison on Grandma's drink!"

Bugh.

"Stop defending him Nathan!"

"I will continue to defend her because she is innocent, she is a woman who has been my prisoner for months. I took her to the meeting and she was with me the whole time, how could she get the poison and put it in Grandma's drink?! How can Davira go to the cctv room and video recording in some corner of the room while she herself does not know where the toilet is!"

Nathan brushed Julian's hand off the collar of his shirt, looking at his father without any fear.

"I'm just here to warn you not to tell anyone to arrest or even kill Davira, anyone who does will deal with me. No one touches Davira until the real culprit I find, I'm gonna drag Grandma's killer in front of all of you."

"What if Davira really killed your grandmother?" julian's question made Nathan chuckle while wiping the blood coming out of his nose.

"It wasn't him, I wouldn't have come here if I wasn't sure. Give me some time to make you all believe and stop bothering Davira."

Julian clenched his hands tightly, he really felt overwhelmed in the face of Nathan's stubbornness. If Nathan wasn't his real son, then he would have disappeared long ago. Nathan was always at odds with him, fighting him without fear. And now Nathan is warning him not to go after Davira anymore.

"I'll give you seven days, if after seven days you haven't brought him before us, then that means Davira is the real culprit, and we'll kill him, Nathan."

"Tell Xie's extended family not to look for Davira's whereabouts for seven days, especially Aaron, tell him not to bother Davira anymore. I'm going to drag out the perpetrator as soon as possible" Nathan said.

"For Aaron, I can't handle it. You have to see him alone, he's not gonna let Davira go after everything that's happened."

"I'll meet him," Nathan turned to look at Jessica and chuckled.

"Where is mom now? Does he know there are******* in this mansion? Looks like after dragging grandma's killer, I should start dragging every****** that you bring."

"Shut your mouth, Nathan! You don't have to interfere with my personal affairs!"

"So is you! Once I find the culprit, then Davira and I will be free! No one can touch him, and I can't interfere in my personal affairs. No one will be able to prevent me from being with Davira."

After saying that, Nathan immediately turned around and stepped his foot.

"Where else are you going, Nathan?!"

Nathan receives a handkerchief given by Paul to clean the blood on his face.

"Walking to Aaron, he needs to know I'm alive."
