Part 42 - Poison

"I didn't expect you to come with Davira" Emma said as Nathan and Davira sat down next to her.

"I didn't expect to do this either" Nathan smiled faintly then sipped champagne from the glass in his hand.

"You're here too, Emma? I thought this was a family event," Davira sat down leisurely and elegantly without regard for the gazes of those around her.

"Of course I'm here, Grandma Gayatri invited me in person," Emma replied sounding proud of it.

"Is this Nathan's family event?" asked Davira to feel bored.

"After this there will be a dinner together in a different room."

"After?"

"Family meeting, discussing business or other important matters," Nathan replied making Davira round her mouth a little sign of understanding.

"Where to go?" nathan asked when he saw Emma suddenly standing up from her seat.

"Want to get out for a while," Emma immediately stepped her feet in a hurry.

Nathan frowned at her, but she just kept quiet and tried not to care.

"Your grandmother was holding back anger, and your father was terrible" Davira said, noting that one by one Xie's family were talking to each other.

"You scared?" nathan asked, holding Davira's hand.

"I'm not afraid, my Papa is more terrible than anyone," Davira slipped a cigarette between her lips, Nathan immediately lit it, making Davira immediately take a sip of his cigarette and exhale the smoke slowly.

"I know you're not a coward."

Davira gave a small smile, suddenly a narrow-eyed woman joined in and sat down next to him.

"How are you, Nathan?" ask a woman named Atvita who is a cousin of Nathan, Aaron's youngest brother.

"As you can see, I'm fine."

"It's the first time I've seen you in person, Davira," Atvita throws a faint smile at Davira then glances at Nathan.

"I heard Nathan kidnapped you on your wedding day, when you should be Mrs Lee by now, right?

"You better stop talking, Atvita. Keep what you know to yourself" hissed Nathan made Atvita shut her mouth.

"What you heard is true, I failed to become Mrs Lee. But it looks like I'm going to be Mrs Xie," Davira chuckles then exhales her cigarette smoke.

"Atvita!" Emma is seen back and immediately sitting next to Atvita, both of whom look familiar and know each other.

"I miss you, Emma. I didn't get a chance to greet you, how are you doing right now?" atvita asked after their embrace was released.

"I'm fine," Emma looked at Davira who was smoking, she cleared her throat briefly.

"Can you stop smoking? I can't stand the smoke" said Emma, trying to sound friendly.

"It could be," Davira replied, just about to pull the cigarette, suddenly Aaron came and took it.

"Why do you want to turn it off?" Aaron sucked it deep and then exhaled right in front of Emma's face so she coughed.

"Aaron," Nathan's reprimand makes Aaron laugh.

"Sister Aaron should smoke somewhere else," Atvita looked at him dislikefully.

Aaron just looked at her flatly then rubbed Emma's head before passing away leaving their table.

Atvita shook her head, Aaron was very happy to disturb Emma. Aaron once told him the reason, and it turns out that Aaron did just that because he didn't like weak women like Emma. Every time I see Emma, Aaron feels like he wants to oppress her.

"Nathan, you haven't greeted our family" Atvita said.

"Do I have to say hello?"

"It doesn't have to be if you want grandma to get angry," Atvita replied, making Nathan take a deep breath and then stand up.

"Davira, let me introduce you to my extended family" Nathan grabbed Davira's hand.

"You go see them first, I want to go to the toilet" Davira said, picking up her bag.

"Should I take you?

Davira shook his head quickly, "I can do it myself, I'll ask the servants the location."

"Well, meet me quickly when you're done" Nathan said before leaving the woman.

"Going alone to the toilet is not a good idea, Davira. If I were you, I would accept Nathan's offer of company. Don't you realize where you are right now? You're surrounded by people who hate you, Davira."

"I'm sorry, but I'm not afraid, Atvita," Davira immediately stepped into the toilet after asking one of the servants.

Davira had to go through the hallway first to arrive in front of a toilet door, he immediately entered it. There are many toilet rooms there making it open the doors one by one.

After making sure no one else was in there, Davira immediately went into one of the rooms. He revealed the dress he was wearing until his smooth thighs were now visible, and there was a mobile phone that he had tied with a black ribbon.

He smiled faintly, for three days he had kept the cell phone of one of the servants he had stolen in the mansion. And he has contacted someone every chance he has of asking for help without Nathan's knowledge.

Davira again contacted the person in a voice that was so slow, long enough they talked until Davira finally cut off her phone and returned to keep the phone behind her dress.

Davira immediately came out of the toilet room, he was a little surprised to see the arrival of Gayatri who immediately locked the toilet door made him feel anxious. But Davira remained calm, after all what could Gayatri do to him?

If Gayatri attacks him, of course Davira will fight him. Davira could have killed the old woman so easily.

"What's the matter Mrs Gayatri?" davira asked as he walked without any fear until now he stood right in front of Gayatri.

"It seems like you really enjoyed your role of being a prisoner" Gayatri looked at him from top to bottom.

Davira chuckles at the look, Gayatri looks at her as if she is a poor woman who will dredge up her granddaughter's treasure.

"I enjoyed every single thing that happened in my life, being Nathan's prisoner? I have of course started to enjoy it, Nathan treats me very well."

"really? I was quite surprised to hear that. Congratulations Davira, you managed to conquer Nathan," Gayatri clapped for a while before silence finally enveloped the two of them.

Gayatri's face instantly turned so flat in just an instant.

"It seems like there is something the Madam wants to tell me, is it a threat? I see you have to lock the door," asked Davira no longer linger facing Gayatri.

"There is something I must tell you, I feel sorry for you, Davira. Very sorry, I think you should know about this before anyone else tells you first" Gayatri did not immediately continue, he smiled faintly at the look on Davira's face which began to turn a little tense.

"It's about the massacre of your family that night, Davira. Are you sure you'll still enjoy your role as Nathan's prisoner after learning of this reality? All this time you've been struggling to figure out the truth, and today you're gonna find out. The guess and everything you think about the Xie family is true. We were behind the massacre, Davira. And Nathan was so far along on that mission, Nathan. That's why you're alive today, because Nathan wants you to keep breathing."

Deg.

Davira's heart immediately stopped beating for a while, he looked at Gayatri with eyes that had turned red. His hands clenched firmly looking at the smile on Gayatri's face.

"So all this time my guess was right? It was indeed Xie's family that did it, and Nathan was even involved in it. So you've been lying to me, Nathan?" his inner.

Davira's chest immediately felt tight, his heart was so sore because hearing the fact was directly given by Gayatri to him. Even Gayatri looked so satisfied to have revealed all that to him.

"I swear to avenge you" hissed Davira making Gayatri chuckle.

"I hope you'll still be there when the dinner begins" Gayatri then steps out of the toilet and leaves Davira alone inside.

One drop of clear liquid came straight out of Davira's eyes without being able to hold it anymore, his feelings and heart were broken. Davira feels so foolish as to believe and think will forgive Nathan's guilt for Damian's death.

But now that Davira has been slapped by reality, Nathan is the mastermind behind two of the greatest devastations of his life. So how could he just forgive that man?

"Davira?" the sound of Nathan calling out to him from the outside made him immediately wipe away his rough tears.

Davira stared at the reflection of his face in the mirror with a chest that felt so tight.

"I'll go in if you don't come out, Davira."

"I'm going out!" said Davira, his voice sounded a little vibrating.

Davira immediately opened the toilet door and out of there, Nathan was stunned to see Davira's eyes look red.

"What's wrong?" nathan asked worriedly.

Davira did not answer him and continued to move his feet down the hallway after the passage, making Nathan immediately accelerate his steps to pursue the woman.

"Davira, what's going on? Did someone hurt you?" Nathan manages to grab Davira's hand, but the woman immediately throws her down.

"Don't touch me!" joked Davira with a hateful look.

The gaze returned Nathan got after quite a while no longer getting it.

"Say something, don't be like this."

"Nathan, it's time to eat together!" exclaiming one of his cousins made Nathan and Davira suddenly turned his head.

Nathan immediately blocks Davira's hand so that Davira can't let go. Nathan leads Davira who is silent and does not try to rebel in order to follow his steps.

Emma and Atvita who saw him could only look at each other, because Nathan's face looked hard and Davira's eyes looked red.

"It looks like they're fighting" Atvita whispered, making Emma feel so curious.

They all entered a room that was so spacious, there was a dining table that was so long and wide. On it has been presented various types of food and drinks. Everyone sat down at their own place.

Seeing only his seat left made Nathan immediately sit there and pull Davira to sit on his lap.

Nathan hugs Davira's waist without caring for the gaze of his father and mother.

"It is impolite to hold Davira in front of our entire family, Nathan," Julian said.

"It's more disrespectful if guests are left standing, should we both sit on the floor?" Nathan raised one eyebrow.

Davira clenched his hands so tightly that his long clenches scratched his own palms, he was so fed up with Nathan. The gentle and kind attitude of the man was already unable to touch his heart when he had learned the facts given by Gayatri.

"Let him, Julian," Gayatri then stood up holding the wine glass in her hand.

Everyone immediately noticed him, Gayatri threw her smile looking at the entire Xie family gathered together with him tonight. Although her husband had died, all of her sisters-in-law still had great respect for Gayatri and kept Gayatri from becoming the most important person in the Xie family.

"It feels so good to see all of us getting together and having dinner together tonight, seeing Xie's family always together with affection made me feel like living a little longer to keep seeing this."

Davira's blood was boiling hearing the speech that kept coming out of Gayatri's mouth, the woman seems to have been so intentional about making Davira's feelings even more hurt by continuing to talk about how much fun togetherness is currently entwined within the Xie family.

"You must be very happy because you have managed to lie to me, Nathan," Davira said in a soft voice.

Nathan scrunched his forehead, "What do you mean?"

"I already know everything, you're the culprit. You're the one who massacred my family that night."

"Who told you that?" nathan asked, making Davira give a small chuckle while looking at Nathan's face with eyes so cold.

The distance between the two faces was so close, Davira even put one hand on the man's neck.

"Bastard" said Davira, holding back his anger.

Gayatri raised her glass, "For Xie's family."

Everyone immediately raised their glasses, except for Nathan and Davira, who were staring at each other.

"For the Xie family," said everyone simultaneously and then drank their wine.

"I will definitely avenge the death of my family, Nathan," whispered Davira bringing her face to Nathan's ears.

Praang!

Suddenly the glass in Gayatri's hand fell to shatter instantly, Gayatri's face immediately stiffened with eyes that glared at Davira.

"Akhc!"

Gayatri's body almost fell to the floor if only Julian had not been so quick to welcome her.

Gayatri's mouth immediately let out foam, her body trembling making all family members directly approach her.

"What's going on?"

"What's wrong with grandma?"

"Laura, check on grandma now!" amara's yelling made Laura come closer.

"Mrs poisoned!" laura was so surprised.

All eyes were staring at Davira who was now standing beside Nathan, in just an instant, the entire Xie family had taken out their pistols and pointed them at Davira.

Nathan looked at Davira with a strange feeling, he turned to look at the grandmother who was lying on the floor with a mouth that continued to foam.

"Surely that woman did it!" shouted one of his uncles.

"Don't accuse me!" jak Davira defended herself.

"You're the enemy of our family, don't dodge it!"

Nathan stared at his entire family who pointed a gun at Davira.

"Let down your guns" he said coldly.

"You still want to defend her after what she did to grandma?!" atvita's voice was heard rising.

"There's no proof! No one can get close to Davira!" Nathan clasped Davira's hand tightly and made the woman close to him.

"Nathan is right, there's no evidence. Don't accuse Davira right away" Emma opened her voice.

"Then we look for evidence! Let's see what's in Davira's bag!" sahut Amara immediately seized Davira's bag by force.

Nathan was silent and left, his heart was pounding as Amara pulled out all the contents of Davira's bag until a small glass bottle fell out of Davira's bag. The white powder inside the bottle was immediately scattered on the floor.

Amara immediately inhaled her scent, she looked at Davira sharply.

"It's poison!"

Nathan's eyes suddenly widened, Nathan looked at Davira with a look of disbelief.

"I-mom died!" julian's shout made Nathan immediately pull Davira's hand by force.

"Shoot me if you want to!" Nathan hugs Davira's body protecting her from the bullets that are so ready to be fired by the entire Xie family that now surrounds them.

"Don't be crazy Nathan!"

"You still want to protect you?!"

"Look! Grandma's gone because of him!"

"I won't protect Davira anymore, because I'm the one who's going to torture her," Nathan immediately pushes Davira's body until she almost falls down if the table next to her is not there.

"He's my prisoner, I'm the one who's going to kill him" hissed Nathan looked at Davira with fury.

"I'm not sure you're going to do it!"

"But I'm sure!" sahut Emma's.

"Nathan won't let the man who killed Gayatri's grandmother live" Emma's words make Nathan immediately pull Davira's hand and drag her by force.

"We'll kill you if Davira's alive till Nathan's morning!" shouted Aaron who was currently holding Gayatri's head.

"Arghh fucking woman!" Julian shouted loudly feeling so angry.

"Follow them! I can't believe Nathan's gonna kill him!" julian's orders send all of Nathan's cousins on the run to catch up with Nathan who has dragged Davira out.

"Take me off Nathan!"

Davira tries to get his hands off Nathan's check which hurts him so much.

"You're out of your mind? You killed my grandmother!"

"I'm not the culprit!" elak Davira, but of course Nathan doesn't believe him.

"The poison is in your bag, you also said that you will take your revenge. Because I thought we were the ones who killed your family!"

"That's the reality! You're the mastermind behind the massacre!"

Nathan continues dragging him until both of them come out of the building.

"We're not the culprit!" nathan shouted as he shook Davira's body.

"You lied! You always tell me lies! Your own grandmother said it!"

Davira looked at him with a hunting breath.

"That means you're the one who poisoned my grandmother?"

Davira did not answer, unexpectedly by Nathan. Davira immediately picked up a gun tucked in Nathan's waist and then stomped on Nathan's foot with 7cm high heels that he was wearing.

"Gurgh!"

Davira moved backwards after releasing Nathan's grip which left a reddish mark on his wrist.

Dor.

Without warning, Davira immediately pulled the trigger until the hot lead penetrated Nathan's right chest.

Davira shed tears looking at Nathan's eyes which were now staring at him.

Dor.

Davira again shot Nathan, and the bullet hit the man's stomach.

"Nathan!"

"Don't let Davira get away!"

Davira stared at Nathan's collapsed body, but the man still had not lost his consciousness and continued to stare at him.

"That was for Damian and also my parents," muttered Davira then running as fast as possible.

Dor.

Davira lowered his head as shots started to be fired at him. He kept running with his eyes that actually looked reddened.

A black Lamborghini stopped right in front of him.

"Hurry to Davira!"
