Part 44 - Emma's Sacrifice

Nathan opened his eyelids slowly, and the first thing he saw was Emma's worried face. Nathan immediately remembered Davira making him immediately change his position to sit.

"Davira, where is he?" nathan asked, his eyes wide.

"Damn," Nathan said slowly, he felt panicked and worried about Davira's current state.

"You're sober? Very quickly," Atvita approached him.

"Where's Davira?" Nathan immediately asked that, making Emma's heart throb because Nathan didn't look at her at all.

"Why are you asking that woman again? He shot you, he made us lose our grandmother, too" Atvita said.

"Have you guys caught him?" nathan asked worriedly.

Although Nathan is angry that Davira poisoned Gayatri, he is still worried about her. He doesn't want Davira to be left in his family's hands. Nathan also wants to straighten out all misconceptions, Gayatri is also guilty of telling Davira information that doesn't fit the facts.

Nathan knows that Gayatri certainly intends to get Davira away from him, and Gayatri does not know exactly how Davira is. The woman can do things when she is angry.

"No, he managed to escape," Atvita replied with a long sigh.

Nathan frowned in disbelief, "How could Davira be detached from you?"

"Jakob Moore, the man who helped Davira. Aaron saw it for himself, you know Jakob is good at driving, of course Aaron can't catch up with him."

Nathan was so shocked to hear that, he did not expect that Davira would get help. Nathan knows that Jakob had worked with the Handoko family, but Jakob never interacted personally with Davira.

Then how could Jakob come and be Davira's savior?

"Did Davira contact Jakob? But how is it going?" inner wondering.

"You better not think about it too much, Nathan. You need to get some rest, I'll call the doctor" Emma pressed the bell near Nathan's bed for the doctor to come over to check on him.

"How many days have I been unconscious?" nathan asked Emma and Atvita in turn.

"One day," replied Emma quietly.

"Where do you want to go? Don't be crazy, Nathan. You've even just finished surgery!" Atvita held Nathan's hand, wanting to release the infusion.

"I have to find Davira, she can't go along with Jakob!" nathan's jolt couldn't imagine what if Davira really left and he couldn't find her anymore.

"Calm down, Nathan. Aaron and the others are still looking for Davira, they're not just going to let go. Davira's a fugitive of our family right now, he's killed Grandma."

"What will you do if you find Davira?" nathan asked making Atvita stunned for a moment.

"Your father has given orders, if Davira is too difficult to catch. Then anyone can shoot him at any time and anywhere to find Davira" Atvita said carefully.

Nathan looked at Atvita so coldly, "Where's Paul? Is he back?"

"He's in the lua, r what's Paul really working on? Why did he disappear for days?"

"I don't need to answer your questions, Atvita. Tell Paul to come in right now," Nathan said, making Atvita cluck and then stepping his feet out of the VIP room occupied by Nathan.

"You just regained consciousness, Nathan. I hope you can calm down" Emma grabbed Nathan's hand for him to hold.

"Where can I calm down? My family will kill Davira immediately, so I have to find Davira before they do. Davira also can't get out of this city, let alone be with Jakob."

"So you still care about Davira's safety? I thought you'd be mad, you couldn't close your eyes, Nathan. Your grandmother's gone, and it's because of Davira's poison" Emma rubbed Nathan's back gently.

"My grandmother who has provoked the anger of Davira, besides I still have to find out the truth," Nathan said as he slowly pulled his hand from Emma's grasp.

"The truth about what?"

"About the poison, where Davira got it from, and how Davira was able to put it in Grandma's wine glass," Nathan replied then looking at Paul and several doctors who entered his room simultaneously.

"Have the doctors wait outside" Nathan said, making Atvita roll his eyes lazily, but the woman kept Nathan's orders.

"Finally you're awake" Paul immediately stood next to his bed.

"How was the job I gave you, Paul? Is everything ready?"

Atvita and Emma stare at each other, confused and clueless as to what Nathan is talking about.

At least now he has the evidence he needs.

"I did not expect that Miss Davira would return to acting this recklessly to escape."

"Grandmother told him that we had committed the massacre against the Handoko family, grandmother also said that I personally intervened in the massacre that night," Nathan said making Atvita frown in wonder.

"Is it really our family that has slaughtered the Handoko family? And you...follow andil? Why don't I know what the problem is?" atvita asked who immediately got the headband from Nathan.

"It's not our family, Atvita. And it certainly wasn't me, Grandma said all that just to provoke Davira's anger. In order for Davira to leave me," Nathan replied as he massaged his nose.

"Grandma said that? And Davira is, of course, angry, which means that Davira has poisoned Grandma!"

Nathan exhales violently, he immediately signals Paul to take Atvita away from his room.

"What?" atvita asked, then clenched her chest, she glared sharply at Paul.

"Miss, Mr. Nathan seems to need a break."

"But I'm not bothering him!"

"You're bothering me Atvita, get out before I drag you," Nathan stared at her flat, which of course made Atvita's guts shrink instantly.

"Emma, let's go home now" Atvita took her bag on the table.

Seeing the look on Emma's face, Atvita understands that Emma still has to talk to Nathan.

"I'll wait outside, just ten minutes Emma!" Atvita came out of Nathan's room in annoyance.

Emma smiled faintly and looked back at Nathan's face fixedly.

"Your eyes are swollen, are you crying?" nathan asked just looking at Emma's eyes.

"Of course, I'm really worried about you, Nathan. You always make me feel scared."

"I'm fine" Nathan said, not wanting Emma to shed tears for him.

"I was so scared when I saw the bullet again lodged in your body? You know how scared I am, Nathan? I even had trouble breathing when I saw you lying down from that shot, I remembered the incident back then."

Emma let out a heavy sigh, she wasn't lying, she was indeed very worried about Nathan.

"Emma, you have to promise me. No matter how bad I am, even if I'm almost dying. I'm begging you not to sacrifice anything for me anymore" Nathan clasped Emma's hand.

However, she loves Emma and cares for her, much less that Emma has sacrificed so much for her.

"How can I just let you go when I can give you something I have to keep you alive?"

"Not anymore, Emma. I don't want to accept anything else from you, you think I'm happy?" Nathan shook his head.

"When I found out you donated your kidney to me, I was devastated and angry with myself. Because of me, you have to feel pain every month. Taking the drug for an indefinable period of time."

"Why are you talking about it again? I don't want to talk about it, you say it like you don't want my sacrifice. Your kidneys are also injured because of me."

Nathan let out a long sigh then let go of his hand. He looked at Paul for a moment and then turned back to Emma.

"Your father got you a kidney donor? Do I need to find him? It's been five years, it shouldn't be hard to get a kidney for you. You don't need hemodialysis therapy if you've got a kidney."

Emma was stunned for a moment to hear it, then shook her head slowly.

"Alright, after this you can no longer refuse. I'll find you a kidney myself."

"really?" emma's question made Nathan nod his head immediately.

"Of course, in a month's time I'll get it. I promise."

Emma twisted her fingers while looking at Nathan's face.

"What if I want Davira's kidney? Can you give it to me, Nathan?"
