ME 39 Cooking

The journey from the next Gold Mine Caravan had not encountered any obstacles. They also make stops in villages along their route. As long as they stopped, it was used by George to teach Matthew to cook.

At first George introduced Matthew with spices that exist. Afterwards, the man taught Matthew to make sandwiches as an initial meal for Matthew to learn. But the boy gave him a big surprise.

Matthew managed to make a sandwich that was good at his first try. Not only that, the boy also made some surprising creations for George.

The boy made something he called a mayonnaise. Not much material is needed to make it. It could be said that it was a very common ingredient found. But the creation of Matthew according to George is something amazing.

As long as he followed Simon's caravan, there were many places he visited. There are many foods that he has tried. But this is the first time he has found something called the mayonnaise. By adding mayonnaise, the taste of the sandwich will increase.

George also heard from Matthew that mayonnaise can also be created to make a food called salad. Although George did not understand what food is called a salad, but the food sounded quite delicious in the ear. He was eager to try it, but Matthew said that so far he had not found the right ingredients to be made into a salad.

All of that made George believe Matthew's remark some time ago, that although he rarely cooked he could make food that was worth eating. George did not expect that he would meet a person who had an extraordinary talent in cooking. He believes that if Matthew were to pursue the profession of cook, the little boy would definitely have a big name in the world of cooks and become very famous.

“So, what will you cook this time Mr Matthew?” ask George.

Since feeling Matthew's creations, George no longer teaches Matthew to cook. Now it can be said that they are cooking partners. No longer a teacher and student in cooking.

“I want to make Uncle's grilled meat. I saw someone selling ketchup in this village. So I'm going to make grilled meat with the extra sauce.” Answer Matthew.

“Do you already have all the ingredients? Otherwise I would have told someone to look for less material.”

“No need Uncle George. All the ingredients I have prepared. So, we'll cook it this time. You can help me burn the meat.”

“Your grilled meat is delicious. So I'll leave the grilled meat business to you, Uncle George. In the meantime, I'll make a sauce for this grilled meat.” Clearly Matthew while showing the bag containing groceries in his hand.

Previously, Matthew had been shopping at a small market in this village. Many of which he bought during his travels with the Carvan Gold Mine. Most of his groceries he did not put in a space bag. He doesn't want to attract too much attention. So, their carriage was currently filled with some items.

Actually John had told Matthew to keep everything in his pocket. But Matthew was determined to show some of their possessions to others. In the end the little debate was won by Matthew after giving fifty portions of his sandwich to John. Looks like the man is hooked on Matthew's cooking right now.

“Alright then. If everything is ready, we can cook. As usual I've asked someone to prepare the kitchen for us.” George.

Matthew then followed George. So far someone has prepared a kitchen for them. What they call preparing the kitchen is not by renting someone's kitchen. Nope. But they will prepare an open kitchen, more similar to a common kitchen.

So even though it was a common kitchen, they did not need to prepare firewood for cooking. They will only use firewood if what they cook has a large size. Like some time ago where they cooked monsters to get on the coals. If so, they will use firewood.

While Matthew cooks, John keeps an eye on Jasper and Ellie who prefer to train their physique by way of push ups, sit ups and pull ups. It seemed that the man was interested in the exercises done by the two.

During the stop, Jasper and Ellie choose to perform the physical movement. They said they wanted to loosen their stiff muscles because they had to sit for a long time during the trip.

The kitchen they were cooking in was near the exit of the village. This was because the Gold Mine Caravan parked their trains near the village exit. There Matthew had seen a folding table and two stoves were ready. Not to forget also some other cookware and also a large barrel filled with water

Matthew walked towards the table that was there. One by one the ingredients he bought he took out of his grocery bag. This bag he bought from the Gold Mine Caravan. Pockets made of monster leather, which is definitely strong and durable for long-term use.

Tomato, garlic, onion, cornstarch, tomato sauce, oyster sauce. One by one the ingredients Matthew took out of his shopping bag. As for the other ingredients, Matthew had already had someone prepare them at the table. So Matthew doesn't have to buy it anymore.

First of all, Matthew smoothes red onions and garlic. He then chopped tomatoes and onions Bombay. After everything was ready, he then sauteed it into a skillet that he had given a little oil. Not long after, the fragrant smell of the seasoning began to smell.

Matthew then put tomato sauce, oyster sauce and added complementary spices such as sugar, salt and pepper. After that, Matthew just put cornstarch that has been dissolved with water into the pan.

Matthew just had to wait for everything to thicken. After tasting that everything was right, Matthew turned off the stove and moved his homemade sauce into the bowl he had prepared beforehand.

Matthew makes quite a lot of saos. He knew that the one who enjoyed this meal was not just himself and George. There are two other never-satisfied stomachs that need to be filled. Simon, Sam and Lucas join them for a meal. So Matthew made one big bowl of sauce for lunch this time.

Everything is ready. Just waiting for George to finish his part. Cooking the grilled meat. Just thinking about it already made Matthew's stomach feel very hungry.

The exercise of the space element that showed progress made Matthew's appetite even more. Maybe his words to John at that time will come true. Within two months he will have six elements.

Once Matthew really has the six elements, it will be Jasper and Ellie's turn to add to the elements they have. They have to grow together, right?

Matthew did not want his two younger siblings to be left too far away from him. At least this way was successful enough for them to be able to have all the elements. Matthew himself had not had time to experiment using weapons that are elements of life and earth that he had obtained before.

Maybe after this he will take the time to do the experiment.
