Winter's pain was a big surprise for Spring. Not a pain that easily healed just by taking medicine, the pain in Winter is the pain that most people fear. The most terrible disease that could threaten Winter's life.
Leaving Winter for the second time was the most terrifying thing for Spring. It's hard for Spring to accept the fact that the man she cares about has to get such a terrible thing.
Spring is so against a fate that can't side with him. Together with Winter until old age is a dream that Spring may never achieve.
After learning Winter has terminal leukemia, Spring reluctantly comes out of her room for days. For days she cried and thought of Winter. Not going to school, not seeing friends, not even refusing to see Winter, even though every day Winter comes to his house. He was too angry at fate, even very angry at Winter who had the heart to lie to him. Angry because Spring can not accept the fact that the age of the man he loves most probably will not be long.
Every time Tessa delivers food to Spring's room, the princess never once finished her meal. How Spring can taste food, if his heart and mind are not calm. Tessa sighs every time she goes to see Spring in her room.
"Are you going to stay in a room like this" said Tessa who was already very upset to see Spring who was still reluctant to come out of her room.
Spring's gaze was very empty, he did not respond and did not even look at his mother. All he did was nod while hugging his knees.
Tessa sat down next to Spring, then slowly grabbed her daughter's hands.
"Receiving reality and letting go is what will make Winter happy. If you're like this, Winter will never be happy even if he goes away from you. Doesn't making her smile and happy is your job."
Spring immediately shed his tears, he then sighed rough while crying looking at his mother. "His job is the same as mine, making me happy and smiling is his job. He shouldn't have given up on his illness. She should have known that I wouldn't be happy if I were left behind by her."
Tessa then wiped away the tears on Spring's face. "If there is a miracle then there will be a cure for Winter. So keep praying and asking God for his recovery."
"How will God do wonders if Winter is reluctant to do treatment. She has given up on me and her life" Spring said with tears growing.
Hugging and gently patting her back was Tessa's way of calming her crying daughter. Spring cried in her mother's arms. Crying in an embrace could make Spring feel a little calm. Though his mind did not completely stop thinking about Winter. But at least, Spring was much calmer compared to earlier.
...****************...
The next day, Spring finally left his room. Her clothes were very neat and she looked very beautiful. Tessa was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief after seeing her daughter come out of the room with her beautiful appearance.
"It looks like my beautiful daughter is going somewhere. What place are you going to?" tessa smiled.
"There's a place I need to go. I'm going to leave now" replied Spring with a wry look, then hurried away from home.
However, after Spring begged, he only got frustrated through a writing that suddenly appeared from the tree trunk. A word that says, when the opportunity for Spring has run out.
Spring sat down crying and did not stop pleading for him to be given a chance to return. But the length of time he pleaded, the result remained the same.
As his heart and mind grew chaotic, Spring stepped out with eyes that did not stop crying. He kept walking without knowing where he was going. His mind was already completely muddled, the fear of losing Winter continued to envelop him. All he thought about was that death could be the solution right now. Because for Spring, living without Winter was a pain for her.
Spring walked across a street full of vehicles. The sound of horn continues to be heard from passing vehicles. Spring did not care about his safety, even if he had to lose his life. Because he thought, by dying he would stay with Winter.
Until his feet stepped, suddenly Winter came, then he quickly pulled Spring away from the highway.
"Are you crazy. Do you intend to end your life" Winter snapped.
"If you die then I'd rather die, too" said Spring with sobs.
Winter immediately hugged Spring's body tightly. "Don't think like that, Spring. Your life is long, you have so much to do without me."
Spring forcibly removed her body from Winter. "After you left, my life was a mess. Although surrounded by people who love and even have a career that is quite successful, it does not make me happy if there is no you. So we better die together. Let today end my life."
Winter quickly hugged Spring. "Well, I'll try to get well, I promise I'll do some medicine. So stop thinking about dying" he said as he shed tears.
"What if you don't heal, what if you leave me again." Spring's tears just broke in Winter's arms.
Winter lets go of her embrace, then smiles while wiping away the tears on Spring's face. "If you want to try, God will give healing for me. So stop worrying me, Spring."
Spring quickly reattached her body in Winter's arms. "You're the one who always worries me. Promise me to heal and always be by my side."
"I can't promise, but I'll try to heal. Stop crying and help me fight this terrible disease" Winter said.
Winter's words and hugs are able to make Spring stop thinking about ending her life. If Winter wants to heal, Spring wants to keep his life.
