16. Certainty

Winter was silent after Spring about her status. He focused on pedaling his bike without letting out his voice. A little upset for Spring, but also a little confusing for her. Winter's steps stopped. "I'm sorry for what?" he asked without turning to look at Spring.

"I'm sorry for upsetting you."

"If you're sorry, don't ever talk about your feelings again, because I don't like them. I hope you can remain my only friend."

No, Spring will never be able to fight his feelings. Because her feelings for Winter will always be there. Even in her previous life, Spring tries to get into a relationship with Skylar just to erase her feelings for Winter, but the results are in vain. Spring can't keep his promise to be Winter's best friend forever. He gave Winter another answer.

"Since I've apologized, can I walk beside you."

"Yes, it's up to you" replied Winter, who still did not turn to look at Spring.

Spring then hurried to approach Winter. Winter's face was still bent, though Spring apologized to her. They walked to class, without making a sound, like people who didn't know each other. But strangely, as they walked, many people were staring at them. Especially their gazes were fixed on Spring.

"Why are people staring at us. Is it because we look like people who are angry with each other" said Spring.

"Come on," Winter said with a flat look.

"That's because you keep showing your upset face. I've apologized, but you still look upset."

Then suddenly, a man named Jack came to Spring. Jack came with some of his friends. Jack is the most troubled student in school. Jack is the baddest kid in school. His arrival made Spring feel uncomfortable as well.

"Aren't you Spring. I didn't think you could be this beautiful." Jack suddenly grabbed onto Spring's shoulder. "Will you date me."

Winter forcibly removed Jack's hand from Spring's shoulder. "Don't bother him. He is not comfortable with your arrival" he said with a cynical look.

"But she won't date any man. So don't expect to date Spring."

"I don't need an answer from you, all I need is an answer from Spring."

Spring gave a rough sigh. "I'll answer no. Because I may date a man who has never been close to me."

Jack pulls out his phone and sticks it out to Spring. "Then we should get close first. I want your phone number."

Winter quickly grabbed Spring's hand. "He won't give you his cell phone number."

Winter then stepped out his legs while pulling Spring's arm roughly. Until Spring had to feel pain in his arm.

"Can you let me go. I can walk without being held by you."

"We need to get to class as soon as possible, because Jack will keep following you if you're slow."

"But my arm hurts."

Winter instantly halted his steps, then slowly removed Spring's arm from his hand. "I'm sorry, I don't know if you're in pain." Then Winter spontaneously stroked Spring's arm slowly. "Is your arm still hurting?"

"Hm, no" replied Spring.

"Sorry forcibly withdrawing yourself. I just want you not to deal with Jack, anything else until you have to be in a relationship with him."

"Why indeed. Are you mad that Jack asked me out on a date."

"Yes I'm angry, because brand men don't seem to deserve a good woman like you. I hope you don't have any relationship with him."

Spring sigh. "Yes, I will never have any relationship with him, except with you, who is only a friend," he said annoyed.

Spring continued his steps towards the class. Arriving in class, all his friends were made excited by his arrival.

"I thought the beautiful woman who came this morning was a new student, but in fact you spring. You're so beautiful, and so different from before" one of her classmates said.

Lucy immediately grabbed onto Spring's shoulder. "Everybody is talking about your beauty. People are talking, if you've shifted Jinny's position as the prettiest student in school."

Spring was made not to believe Lucy's words. "Am I really pretty. I still feel like I'm lacking to be able to compete with Jinny."

"Hey why ask like that. I've told you many times that you're so beautiful. Are people's compliments still not enough, to make you feel insecure."

"But Winter's heart is still unmoved, even though I've changed my appearance" whispered Spring with a wry look.

"really? A lot of people at school are hooked after seeing you. But why is Winter the only one who can't be captivated by you."

"Let's go, I have to ask first, and then he complimented my performance. I'm sure if the compliment was yesterday, it just wanted to make me happy. She doesn't feel like I'm beautiful." Spring then sat down while clutching his head at the table.
