The Angel of Wounds

The Angel of Wounds
Chapter 70

Kevin still faithfully looked at the portrait of the woman who made his world colorful. His smile, his eyes, his nose, he said, all he likes. Three months of knowing Hasna, was enough for Kevin to strengthen his heart to challenge the woman. But fate is not on his side.

It might be enough for Kevin to love Hasna in silence. Let the woman be happy with the man of her choice. And he loved Hasna in his own way.

"Kevin, Mama can come in, baby?" The sound of the mother also knocked on the door that was mutually simple.

Kevin was breathing rough. When he wants peace, there is something that makes him feel disturbed. But he also could not ignore the woman who had given birth to him just like that.

"Look, Ma. Not in the key." Legally.

Ms. Rosita came in with a tray of food. The woman did not want her son to neglect his health.

"Eat first, dear." Ms. Rosita keeps food on the nightstand.

Kevin only glanced at her at a glance, not intending to touch her. He really doesn't want to do anything right now.

"Kevin's not hungry, Ma." Answer Kevin without shifting his focus on the phone screen that is still on.

Miss Rosita took a long breath. Apparently the son is in trouble. He approached and sat down on the bed. Inadvertently, the woman caught a picture of a beautiful woman on her son's cellphone screen. Then he smiled.

So, her son is upset because of that woman? The woman who has made a somersault in the heart of her beloved son.

He recalled a few weeks ago Kevin had told me about his intention to edit Hasna. Ms. Rosita was happy to support her son's goodwill. Moreover, the woman had fallen in love with Hasna's personality. Miss Rosita also wanted Hasna to be the wife of her youngest son.

Then after a few days, Kevin also told me if he had expressed his intention to marry Hasna to his mother. Kevin proposed to Hasna through his birth mother. And he waited a few weeks to get an answer from the shady-eyed woman.

It is possible, Hasna has given an answer, but put forward conditions, Rosita thought. And perhaps the condition Hasna proposed was what made her son upset like today.

Bu Rosita gently rubbed her son's black mane. But it didn't make Kevin react. The man remained unmoved with eyes still focused on his phone.

"What's wrong? Same story with Mama." Pinta Bu Rosita is soft.

"Did Hasna give me the answer?" Kevin nodded, and made the mother smile.

"Then, was your proposal accepted?" This time the man nodded. Miss Rosita frowned.

"Surely he's filed a condition, isn't he?" Again, Kevin nodded.

"Why?"

Not answering, Kevin just lay his head on the lap of the mother. He needs a back up at this time.

Ms. Rosita gently stroked the son's head. Give a little time for the boy to feel comfortable and tell what is making him shut himself up like this.

"Last noon, Kevin met Hasna at her restaurant." Kevin finally opened his voice.

"Kevin asked for an answer to Kevin's proposal to Hasna."

Silent. But Miss Rosita did not open her voice, only her loyal hand rubbed gently on Kevin's head.

"Hasna apologizes to Kevin."

Miss Rosita stopped her mouth for a moment. He understood Kevin's next conversation. That his son's proposal was rejected.

"Hasna's sorry, she can't accept Kevin's proposal. Hasna's...." The esophagus feels choked when going to say the next sentence.

"Hasna's..." Now I hear heavy breathing.

"Hasna's married, Ma." Sluggishly. Those words were so smoothly spoken in his mouth, the clear circular surf breaking forcefully in both corners of his eyes.

"Hasna was already the wife of another man." He said in a slightly raucous voice.

Miss Rosita breathed a heavy breath. The woman knew how much her son admired the beautiful woman so much that his admiration turned into love.

"It turns out we were wrong. We assume Hasna is a single woman. But it turns out she's a married woman." It also feels very difficult to swallow.

"Hasna was married three months ago. A few weeks after we met."

Ms. Rosita felt wet in the clothes she was wearing. Just in his lap, his son was crying. Kevin shed tears for the women he fought for. But his love destiny is not as good as his hope.

"And does Mama know? Hasna was orphaned since childhood, she was raised by her Grandpa."

"You said you proposed to Hasna to her mother?" Feels like his son's arm in the lap.

"Kevin proposed to Hasna to her mother-in-law." The man laughed heartily. Laughing stupidity.

Miss Rosita held her breath for a few seconds. The woman was shocked when her son said he proposed to her mother-in-law. This is the craziest thing his son ever did. He didn't know what he was going to say to Kevin. Anger, disappointment, sympathy or even ridicule for the stupidity of the son.

"Luckily, Kevin was able to avoid it when Hasna was going to introduce Kevin to the man. Kevin won't be able to see them both in plain sight. That's why Kevin said that Mama told Kevin to come home fast." Chortled. Ms. Rosita shook her head to hear it, as she did not feel like she was contacting her son.

Silence is dominating. I heard only heavy-sounding breath.

"Then what about you?" Ask Miss Rosita.

"Kevin will try to crush Hasna, Ma. Not necessarily Hasna would be happy if with Kevin. Kevin's gonna be happy, if Hasna's happy."

Maybe what he will live later is not as easy as what he said just now. But he'll try to do it. For the sake of his love for Hasna, he would not hurt her.

Kevin woke up from his mother's lap, staring at the face of the woman who had given birth to him. Ms. Rosita's hand stretched out rubbing a trace of tears on her son's face.

"For Hasna's sake, Kevin's gonna be fine." A smile Kevin forced rose at both corners of his lips. Miss Rosita nodded with eyes that started to condense.

His son is fragile, but still trying hard. Kevin still smiled even though he was forced. The man relented even though he still held his love for Hasna.

"Hopefully after this happiness will come to you, son."

This afternoon he got a message from Siska, a friend during his first lecture. In the message, Siska said that there was something important she wanted to say to him. It's been over thirty minutes, but the woman doesn't see her nose.

A pat on his shoulder, made the man turn his head, and found the figure of the woman he was waiting for earlier.

"Old sorry, I'm stuck in traffic." Siska put her bag on the table and sat down in front of Tomi.

"No problem. Want a drink first?" Siska nodded.

Tomi ordered drinks and snacks for them.

"Lo want to say something important is it me?" Shoot him to the point.

"On Marissa."

"Marysa?" Repeating Tomi, Siska nodded.

"What's wrong with Marissa? He's fine, right? How's it?" Tomi flocked Siska with a barrage of questions.

That shoulder-haired woman knitted her two eyebrows together.

"Do you know that Marissa is pregnant?" Tomi nodded.

"And I'm sure that's my son." Tomi said sure. Siska looked towards Tomi.

"Lo know that Marissa's pregnant with your child?" Tomi nodded.

"Gue accidentally met right in the hospital. Marissa was in front of the obgyn's office. I'm trying to figure out what he's sick of. And it turns out, she's pregnant."

"Marissa is pregnant with your child, but..."

"Why?" Tomi's face stiffened.

"He does not want to let you know that the child in the womb is your child. Because Marissa wanted someone to acknowledge the child as her child."

"meaning?" Tomi frowned in wonder.

Siska recounts an accidental encounter between herself and Marissa at a nightclub that time, and ends by listening to her best friend's curses in the park near the club.

"Lo know who it is?" Tomi shakes.

"Rama, his boss is in the office. Marissa is crazy about her boss. He often confided in me. And to be honest, I don't agree that Marissa's reckless doing something that's gonna ruin everyone's life." Tomi's jaw hardened hearing Siska's speech. There was no way the woman would tell a lie about her best friend. Tomi knows how Siska is.

"We never know how the personal life of Marissa's boss. He once said that Rama was single. But we don't know if Rama already has a lover and even a future wife." That is exactly what Siska said. Tomi also disagrees with Marissa's thinking.

"Gue tried to speak from heart to heart with Marissa. But he doesn't seem to want my advice. However, he must be able to take Rama. Or..." Siska looked at Tomi who was sitting in front of her.

"Or what?"

"Or she'll be throwing a child in her womb."

Tomi closed her eyes and exhaled a rough breath. His jaw hardened, his hands clenched firmly upon hearing Siska's words. Marissa's gonna need their son's candidate. A truly selfish woman. Sacrificing his own flesh and blood for the sake of his ambition to get his superior.

"Where does Marissa work?" Ask Tomi.

"In the company of Blue Diamond."

A fairly large company. Tomi can easily find out who the boss of Marissa is.

"OK, I'll investigate. And I'm asking you to help me watch out for Marissa. I don't want him to do anything. Even if she doesn't want to admit to the baby in her womb, I'm ready to take care of her myself." Tomi said with confidence. Siska.

Tomi will not take responsibility for her flesh and blood for granted. Although he is not as rich as the man Marissa expected, but at least he is a man who still thinks about the life of his baby. With or without his birth mother, he will guarantee the life of his son.

"Mas."

"Hmm."

Apparently the man was spoiled with his wife. Hugged tightly and kissed the top of his wife's head.

"Tomorrow I'll go to Mama's house, okay?" Hasna.

"Just yesterday we were there." Rama said with his eyes closed.

"Either wrong?" Hasna Protest.

"Yes, not really. I'll pick you up after the office." Rama tightened his embrace.

Hasna wanted to ask Kevin's proposal to Mama-in-law. Why did her mother-in-law say nothing to her for almost a month? It just looks calm like nothing happened.

Hasna just remembered when Mama-in-law asked to be sent home immediately after buying a gift for Papa. Mama had no intention of hiding it from her. Butwhy? Wouldn't it be better if we talked about it?

Still clear in memory, how Kevin expression when getting an answer from Hasna. Although not explicitly rejected, but it is clear that the face implies such deep disappointment.

Hasna felt a little guilty for men as good as Kevin. It was as if she was a woman who gave hope to the man who wanted her. Though not so, he was shocked when Kevin said that the man had proposed to Mama-in-law, who he thought was Hasna's real mother.

"Astaghfirullahal'adzim, forgive me. No intention of I hurt Mas Kevin's feelings. Nor did I give you false hope. But really I've never known this before. I hope he will find a woman who is better than me. He's a good guy, he'll get the best mate anyway."

"Hasna, are you asleep?" Ask Rama, because he did not feel the movement of his wife. Hasna tightened her arms, looking for the most comfortable place in her husband's arms.
