"Sister Marissa, you're released today." One sentence that makes Marissa almost lost concentration.
"Sa, you're free." One of her cellmates nudged the woman's arm, as Marissa showed no reaction.
Marissa looked at the woman she first met as a prisoner.
"Sa...my...be...free?" Marissa asked. He can't even say it right.
"Yes, you're free." Answer the female officer.
"Mr? I'm free?" Marissa asked him back to the girl next to her. He was just trying to make sure that what he heard was not a hallucination.
"Yes, Sa, you're free." She smiled at Marissa.
"Alhamdulillah." A drop of clear hair drenched the cheeks of Rama's former secretary.
"Congratulations, yes." Marissa hugged the woman.
"I don't dream, do I? Please Tuti pinch me, me_"
"Aaww..sick, Ma'am." Marissa rubbed the cheek pinched by Tuti, her cellmate.
"Sister Marissa, if you please go ahead. Someone wants to meet you." Said the officer.
"Yes, Mom."
"Sir, I'm free." Screech Marissa with teary eyes.
"Yes, you're free. Congratulations again."
"Thank you, Ma'am." Marissa hugged Tuti.
"Use your chances as best you can. Don't let you have the desire to come back here again." Marissa nodded between her happy tears.
"Find your son, Sa. I can only pray for you to return to a full family." Tuti said sincerely. Tuti knew so much about Marissa's story that she was here with him.
Marissa looked down, squeezing the clothes she was wearing. Looking son? Could it? He did not even know how his son looked. She only knew if she gave birth to a baby boy, that's all. Even Siska, her best friend, had no chance of seeing her son's face, because Tomi had already taken away her baby shortly after birth. His son must have been big. What's his face like now? What can his son do? Can he crawl?
"Why?" Tuti held both Marissa's shoulders. The woman's face got wet.
"Can I meet them, Ma'am? After what I did? I've wasted them." Marissa said on the sidelines.
Tuti clasped the woman's hand tightly, trying to provide support as well as strength.
"I'm sure you can definitely meet them back." Tuti knew clearly how the woman was trying to improve herself, especially after having met with women who were victims of selfishness during the verdict hearing.
"With the declaration that you are free from this place, it means that God has given you an opportunity. Use it well. Find the whereabouts of your son and his father. Hope you get a second chance to be his wife again."
Marissa smiled bitterly at it. Second chance to be Tomi's wife? He thinks it's not fair. Tomi deserves a better woman than him. A woman who respects him as a couple.
Marissa gave a small nod to Tuti. He immediately packed up and said goodbye to his other friends. Tuti's right, don't let him be in this place again. He had done enough foolishness to lose everything.
Marissa carried a medium-sized bag containing her clothes. He was escorted by an officer to meet people who wanted to meet him.
"Please, the guy's there." Appoint the officers to two men who are in the corner of the room.
Slowly he stepped closer to the two men who had been waiting for him, setting his heart. And now, he was standing right in front of the two.
"Good day, Mr. ivan." Sapa Marissa, made Ivan and Mr. Darmawan turn to the woman.
"Jiang." Ivan was a little stunned by the appearance of the woman in front of him now. Marissa dressed more covered even without wearing a hijab on her head.
"Please sit down." Ivan.
Marissa complied and took a position right in front of the two men.
"Today you will be released, because Mr. Rama has withdrawn his claim. Hopefully you can take advantage of the opportunities he gives you as well as possible." Ivan spoke coldly just like he did in the office.
Marissa just nodded small without saying a word. He was quite aware of Rama's generosity. Suppose that standing next to Rama is not a woman like Hasna. He will not be able to get out of prison so soon.
"Sorry, sister Marissa. You must remember me. I am Darmawan, personal lawyer Mr Rama Suryanata." Marissa nodded back.
"We're here to settle the thorny affair between you. Also conveying his trust." Said Mr. Darma.
"Pak Rama dropped charges for a case involving you as the perpetrator, and my client's wife as the victim. But on condition."
Marissa looked straight at the middle-aged man before her. Trying to listen well to every word that the man will say. Mr. Darma thrusting a map right in front of Marissa.
"Please." Marissa looked at the map in front of her and Mr. Darmawan and Ivan alternately.
"What's this?" Ask the girl.
"This is a condition that Mr. Rama asked for as a guarantee for your freedom. Please read it first. If anything is not understood please ask me." Said Mr. Darmawan.
Marissa opened the red map slowly. A letter of agreement. He began to peruse what was written in the covenant letter that was in his hand for a few moments, until he put it back on the table.
"Does anyone want sister Marissa to ask?" Ask Mr. Darma. Marissa shakes.
"Then, please sign it over here." Mr. Darma showed me where to put his signature.
Marissa began to put her signature on the stamped paper, which meant she had to obey what was set out in it. If he breaks, it will bring him back to deal with the law. And he can be sure, Rama will not forgive him as he is now.
"Thank you, may you have a better life after being freed from this." Marissa simply nodded with a wry smile on her lips.
Mr. Darma and Ivan immediately moved on. But Marissa's voice paused their steps.
"Sir Ivan, please thank Mr. Rama and Ms. Hasna. Thanks for everything." Marissa's heartfelt words.
Ivan watched the woman in front of him. There are so many changes that this woman has shown. I hope it's true that way.
Slowly Ivan began to nod his head.
"Thank you." Marissa.
Marissa stared at the departure of the two men who had just met her until they disappeared behind the door.
"Congratulations on your freedom today. I hope you can start a better life." Said one of the officers to Marissa, before she stepped out of the gate where she had been for almost seven months.
