"Lucy's... Lucy.." cried a middle-aged man calling his grandson.
The girl named Lucy looked towards the source of the voice that was none other than her grandmother and waved at her.
"What's up, grandma? I'll be there as soon as I pluck these cabbages." Lucy half-collared.
The grandmother simply watched from a distance without being able to clearly hear what her granddaughter was saying. Because at his age that is quite twilight the hearing of the elderly began to decrease.
"I don't know what you're saying, ah I'll rest myself in the hut while preparing lunch." the old lady passed.
With the spirit of Lucy picking cabbage and put it into the basket to make it easier to carry later. With a small hum he plucked the cabbage, but suddenly his hand stopped and placed it onto his slender belly.
"Ahh I'm hungry, it seems like my stomach has rebelled and this is immediately filled" Lucy said looking towards where her grandmother was.
He did not see his grandmother at the place when she called him, Lucy looked around looking for where the old woman was but did not find her.
"Alright, the old man has left me alone here. I'm sure he didn't hear what I said earlier." Lucy muttered.
Lucy lifted the basket filled with cabbage and placed it onto a wheelbarrow. With small but definite steps he pushed the wagon towards a small cottage on the edge of the garden and placed it there.
After putting the cabbages in a safe place Lucy stuck her neck into the hut where it turned out to be true that her grandmother was inside cooking a soup and burning bread on coals.
"Why doesn't grandma wait for me to have lunch?' ask Lucy from the outside.
"I didn't hear what you said just now, I thought you were full just picking those cabbages" she said.
"Ha ha ha, alright.clean yourself up and we will eat together, I have prepared soup and bread for you." said the grandmother laughing at the words of her granddaughter.
Lucy immediately did what her grandmother said, washing her hands and feet in a shower not too far from the cabin. After he finished he entered the cottage and sat sweetly like a cat waiting for a meal, given by his master.
"Here you eat, a few more months are coming in winter. I will set aside money little by little to buy you a new warm shirt" said the grandmother as she bribed her bread.
"There is no need to buy a new warm shirt, which yesterday-yesterday is still good and still warm when in use. It's just a waste of money, better grandma keep it." said Lucy.
"Your warm clothes are all too small, I've checked everything. Anyway you need it to go out to meet your friends later." said grandma.
Lucy just shut up and ate her food without caring about her grandmother. He only lived alone with his grandmother after one year ago when his mother died.
"Grandma, what if I'm looking for a job? The money from my salary we can use to buy anything later." Lucy proposed.
"Don't joke, you just graduated from school. What jobs would you get if you just finished high school?" ask grandma.
"I can be a waiter of a store or restaurant, it's all a decent salary and fits my graduation" Lucy said reassuringly.
"I don't agree, do you know the crime in our town is terrible. They could have hurt the store clerk who came home late at night. I can't allow you to work like that." said granny angrily.
"I can take care of myself, Grandma. And also I'll look for a shop that only opens during the day" Lucy said.
"I won't let you. Already, quickly you finish your food and don't talk about this anymore" said granny annoyed.
