"Mom believe me I have truly repented and will not dare to repeat the same mistake" Boris assures.
But Grace's grandmother did not respond to her and looked towards Lucy and Andre hinting to continue eating regardless of Boris bragging about her words. Boris who seemed to be unconcerned in the house became increasingly angry, but he held his anger in fear if Andre and Lucy realized that he had never repented with what he had been doing.
After dinner, Grace and Lucy sit in the living room watching a television screen showing Grace's favorite movie. Suddenly as they were watching Boris come over to them and sit next to Grace's grandmother. However, Lucy and Grace's grandmother did not care much about the old man's presence. They are still focusing their eyes on the television screen. Grandma Grace occasionally combed Lucy's hair using her fingers, Lucy more comfortable lying on her grandmother's lap.
"I really like sleeping on my grandmother's lap like this" Lucy said as she stared at Grace's grandmother.
"Of course you like it, since you were a kid I've done this to you. If it wasn't me and your mom who spoiled you anymore?" ask Grace's grandmother while insinuating Boris.
Lucy only grinned at the words coming out of her grandmother's mouth, while Boris who felt insinuated could only remain silent without refuting.
"So, why are you coming back here?" ask Boris to Lucy.
"Does he have a reason to come back here? He was born here and grew up here, why do you question the absurd?" grandma Grace asked back in a furious tone.
"My mom just asked, what's wrong?" ask Boris wonder.
"What's wrong, why did you suddenly come home? That question should be more suitable for you than Lucy who has been here since the beginning." - Grandma Grace was upset.
"I'm here to see Grandma" Lucy said.
Lucy knew the debate between her grandmother and her father wouldn't be over if she didn't talk.
"really? Isn't there something you want to discuss with your grandmother?" ask Boris suspiciously.
"I mean dad?" lucy asked not to understand.
"Yes, maybe something much bigger so you want to negotiate it. You must remember Lucy, however I am your father, and you cannot take my place" Boris said.
"I've never replaced my father, and what's more I don't understand my father's words" Lucy said.
"The news I heard is that you came here to ask your grandmother for her blessing because you and the director are getting married" Boris explained.
Lucy was flabbergasted to hear the words coming out of Boris' mouth, how could she have heard such a hoax.
"You know, however, when you get married, the one who is written as the guardian is me, who accompanies you while walking on the altar of the church as well as me. You can't just step over me even if your grandmother takes care of you as a child" Boris said.
"Yes of course, you're here to do that, aren't you? Moreover, the director also came with you to meet grandma" said Boris.
"I told you, I'm here because I just want to visit grandma. There was no other meaning" Lucy explained.
Boris frowned as if in disbelief with Lucy's words, he was sure Lucy and her grandmother had discussed the matter of marriage but was currently keeping it a secret from Boris.
"That's right." said Boris annoyed.
"Why? Are you upset that Lucy's not getting married to that rich guy yet? You're talking like you're afraid that Lucy will only take me to her house when she's married. Do you really wish that your son would marry that rich man so that you could live a good life and be content to buy drinks and gamble?" granny asked Grace in a row as if she could read Boris's mind.
Boris was speechless at his mother's remark, how could his mother know his plan. Yes who does not want to live richly with treasures, so Boris really hopes that his only daughter can be the wife of Andre the master director.
"I'm telling you, and you're Lucy too. No one has the right to stay with you after you get married, build your own family. Don't let one person disturb your household what else is wrong in your married life." advice grandmother Grace.
"Why? Why can't we stay with him? It is the duty of the child to look after his parents once they are established. Moreover, she is my only daughter" Boris said as if to disagree with Grandma Grace's words.
Grace's grandmother did not respond to the words of her son, for all that came out of Boris's mouth was like a wind and was not important to hear. Even his current presence was not expected by Grace's grandmother, he really hoped that his grandson could live happily and peacefully without any interference from anyone including his own father.
"I'll remember what Grandma said, but for now I can't be sure if I get married sooner or later. I still want to enjoy my youth and have fun." Lucy said.
"What's fun, once you're married you can do a lot of things. Even you'll enjoy your life a lot more" Boris said.
"No dad, I can't force Andre to marry me" Lucy said.
"W-what? He has no intention of marrying you why visit your grandmother?" ask Boris not to believe it.
"I told you before, we're just here for the holidays and to see grandma. Andre and I haven't had any marriage talks, and he's still very busy with his job and his family just arrived" Lucy said.
Boris was silent to Lucy's words, he felt discouraged because he thought it was still a long time for him to enjoy the luxurious life of his son's future husband.
"No need to think about it, now you enjoy your life. You have to enjoy your hard work all this time, if you rush to get married not necessarily you can enjoy it all." said Grace defended.
"I love you, Grandma" said Lucy, kissing the back of her grandmother's hand, which had begun to wrinkle.
Boris could not interrupt the words that had come out of his mother's mouth, he was sure a thousand times he spoke there would be a thousand answers to the defense of Lucy later.
