Chapter 30 New Months

Eldrige observed the magic objects that were inside the bronze box. There were several fetish sacs, bottles filled with various liquids and powders. There are also manuals using magic spells.

"This is the amulet pouch the waiter once found. Doesn't it look similar to this one?" King Satria handed a pocket of amulets to Eldrige.

"Yes, it's similar." Eldrige nodded in agreement. His hands were flipping open notebooks and spell books.

"Soul Binding Cantera?" Eldrige frowned.

There is a poem of Goetia written on the sheet of the book that has yellowed. His ink had already faded somewhat, but his magical aura still felt strong. The rhyme is a spell calling the Devil Sitr.

Eldrige opened the other page and found no other clue to defeat the eagle woman. Just a picture of the eagle wing in the shape of a crescent moon and below it is written Yareakh which means new moon or new moon.

Eldrige thought for a moment and thought. Calculate the phase of the new moon that happens later tonight. Finally he decided to tell his plan to King Satria.

The king agreed. He ordered all the bodyguards to prepare the equipment Eldrige requested. They also stood guard in all the open areas and in the watchtowers that were in the four corners of the palace. Each was on standby with an arrow whose tip had been dyed with a Sage leaf potion.

Everyone was tense to see the monstrous creatures that did not stop circling and screeching above the palace. They prayed that the creature could be conquered immediately.

Everything Eldrige asked for was finished prepared before dusk. It is estimated that the new moon will rise about twenty minutes after sunset.

Shortly thereafter, the sun sank leaving a golden tinge on the western horizon. The red sky was dark. All those on guard were on standby in their positions.

"We have to lure the creature down. Someone has to be the bait!" Eldrige looked at King Satria, as if to say that he was the one who should be the bait.

King Satria understood and did not mind being bait. As a leader, he is obliged to protect his people. But what he did not like was the way Eldrige looked at him that seemed to mock. It seemed like the elf was very happy if she was in trouble.

"I'm willing to be the bait!" Suddenly Ahren volunteered, making the two of them who were in the cold war startled.

"That's very dangerous, Ahren!" Prevent Eldrige.

The words instantly made King Satria take a sharp glance towards Eldrige. Meaning that the elf had indeed deliberately wanted to put her in a dangerous position.

"It's all my fault, then it should have been if I had done it." Ahren seemed to mean it.

"Well, if that's your decision." Eldrige replied with a sigh.

The King of Satria heard a disappointed tone in Eldrige's voice. Makes her want to scold the fairy but this is not the right time to do it.

"Come on, get ready for each position!" King Satria's orders in a loud voice.

All followed the orders of King Satria, including Ahren. The young man immediately ran to the center of the vast palace courtyard. The young man then waved his hand upwards to attract the creature's attention.

"Yeahammy!"

The creature immediately saw Ahren. After maneuvering for a while in the air, the creature immediately swooped down towards the young man.

The king gestured with his hand for everyone to get ready and wait for the next order.

The flapping of the eagle woman's wings gave rise to a strong wind that struck like a typhoon. It makes dust fly in all directions.

They all held their breaths watching the creature nimbly grab Ahren's body.

It was just then that King Satria signaled to carry out his orders immediately.

From all four directions, the soldiers suddenly threw nets at the eagle woman. Then they shoot it at the same time. Be it the guards that stand guard on top of the tower or the guards that stand guard below.

"Yeahack! Kaaaaack!" The eagle woman shrieked furiously.

He tried to escape from the net on his body. It did not take long, the net was finally torn by the lunge of its claws and beak. The net was unable to lock him up. And unfortunately all their arrows were missed, no one hit them. The creature then flew away carrying Ahren.

Seeing that Eldrige jumped directly on top of a garden ornamental stone, then jumped onto the roof of the palace. He moved as quickly as possible to catch up with the creature. Her silver, glittering braids of hair were highlighted by the light of the palace lights. The braids were swinging on his back.

Eldrige continued to run on the roof, chasing after the creature. His steps make a sound of footing on the tile.

It seems like the creature had no intention of leaving. He just circled around carrying Ahren who from below looked like a puppet swinging around.

Eldrige was getting ready with his bow. Many times he throws his arrows at the creature, but always misses. The eagle woman quickly dodged.

Eldrige's back in pursuit. Agilely the man ran while releasing his arrow. His usually calm face, now looked furious.

"ciiieing!"

An arrow darted fiercely beside Eldrige, very close to almost hitting his ear. The arrow broke through the creature's left wing and made it scream in anger.

Eldrige turned his head and saw King Satria following him. The man smirked sucks. His purple eyes flashed with excitement. He seems to enjoy it a lot.

"Flame.tap..tap..."

They ran after the creature while releasing arrows. Their arrows darted in pursuit of raining down on the eagle woman. Several arrows managed to land on the body of the eagle woman and made her somewhat staggered.

"Yeahammy!"

The creature was furious. Then he flapped his wings many times and caused a strong wind wave. The roof of the palace peeling in some parts and flying in the air.

Eldrige immediately pulled out his whip. The light is so bright it splits the night. Nimblely he twirled his whip like a lasso rope. Then he threw it towards the head of the creature and snared its neck.

"Yeahammy!"

The eagle woman's neck was suffocated. His body was drifting to the right and to the left like a kite. Eldrige pulled him firmly, then the elf jumped down making the creature topple over.

His grip on Ahren slipped. The young man's body plunged freely downwards. However some soldiers immediately caught him just before his body crashed onto the ground. They took him to the edge. The young man was fainted.

"Buruum!"

Eldrige threw the creature's body to the ground. The eagle woman was helplessly sprawled, fresh blood flowing in some parts of her body that were stuck in arrows.

Eldrige looked up at the sky and saw the crescent moon rising up. This was the time, this time he had to succeed.

"Bring the mirror here, and then point it at the moon!" He shouted while holding his whip tightly.

Some soldiers brought the mirror and pointed it at the moon. The bright moonlight shone like a blue laser beam. The beam then bounced and highlighted the eagle woman's body.

Eldrige asked King Satria to hold his whip. The creature thrashed, but King Satria kept his position. A few drops of sweat drenched his forehead.

Meanwhile Eldrige uttered a magic spell while moving his hand in the air. There was a strange greenish-blue light that suddenly emerged from the body of the creature. The light resembled that eagle woman.

The light slowly came out of the body of Consort Mayang and flew into the mirror. Suddenly the mirror exploded and broke into pieces.

The mirror fragments flew into the air and at first glance looked like scattered stars.

Consort Mayang's body lay on the ground with her neck wrapped around the whip. Several arrows pierced his back and legs. That beautiful woman looks so awful.

His father immediately ran over and hugged him. The man was crying. King Satria ordered the guards to bring Consort Mayang into his room.

Eldrige approached King Satria and looked at him seriously.

"It's not over yet. We must immediately hold a treaty cancellation ceremony with the devil!"

King Satria nodded. For tonight, it's enough to get here first. Tomorrow when Consort Mayang wakes up, they will perform the ceremony.
