The next day at 08:00 the students were awakened by the sound of an alarm in the dorm room. It was a signal for everyone to get up and get dressed. Once everyone was ready, they would head to the cafeteria together for breakfast.
When Quinn wakes up, she is greeted with a pleasant surprise from the system.
[You have completed the daily Quest ]
[Switch direct sunlight for 8 hours ]
[5 Exp Prize]
[ 75 / 100 ]
The daily quest had been reset at midnight and Quinn had slept for 8 hours rewarding her with her experience. Quinn was happy because this meant he would easily gain 5 exp without having to go out of his way.
Then a rumbling sound came from his stomach.
“I'm hungrier than usual for a reason, maybe my body really spent a lot of energy in that fight.” Quinn thought as he headed to the cafeteria.
The canteen was a large hall but it was quite simple. In fact, while walking around the school, Quinn realized that most schools were simple. Single white walls, no picture frames, or anything else, just occasional windows.
It was a sleek, modern clean look that the world had taken. The canteen was then filled with large tables so we could accommodate three people on each side of the table. As soon as Quinn entered, she immediately realized something.
There are no seats in the cafeteria which means students are free to sit where they like. This immediately caused a split in the school. The low level sits beside the low level and the high level sits with the high level.
As Quinn was queuing with Peter and Vorden, they saw a student arrive late to the queue. He walked past most of the students and ended up cutting the line in front of the others. No one said a word and the simple reason was that he had a higher level of strength than them.
Quinn hated this kind of action but there was currently nothing she could do. After the three of them got food, they started looking for places to eat.
“Why don't we go there?” Voden pointed to an empty spot.
“Are you sure of Vorden?” Peter asked, though,
“That's level one area, you don't have to sit with us if you don't want to, right Quinn?”
“Yes, don't force yourself,” replied Quinn.
“Stop talking nonsense you two, we are friends, I don't care about this stupid power level rule.”
The three of them then went to sit down with the other floor down on the table. The area slowly began to fill but not a single person decided to sit at their table. There was a simple reason for this, they were afraid of the Vorden.
They could see his high strength level and the other low level wanted to stay away.
As soon as the food was put on the table, Quinn immediately started digging and eating everything that was given to her, even the small pieces she normally disliked.
“Hey, if you won't finish it, you mind if I pick it up,” Quinn asked.
“Sure, please,” said Peter.
Quinn not only ate all of his food but also all the other two people left behind as well. Not only that, Quinn had taken out 8 bottles of water because she wanted to complete her mission as quickly as possible.
He noticed the last time when he was in the sun, he was sweating more than usual and thanks to the water he drank earlier, he did not feel dehydrated. If they went out again then this would be of great help to Quinn.
“For a skinny guy, you really pack all that food,” Vorden said.
Although Quinn had obviously eaten a lot, for some reason she still had a bit of hunger that did not go away. Fortunately it can be detained and not bother him too much.
[daily quest completed: Drink two liters of water ]
[ 80 / 100 ]
Quinn was now only 20 points away from leveling up and he would soon see what benefits brought him. Then Quinn suddenly remembered that he had learned the inspect skill yesterday and decided to use it in Vorden.
[ HP 10/10]
[ Race: Human
[Blood type: O]
Quinn paused while reading what she saw. For some reason, the system states that the Vorden has no abilities.
“Hey, Vorden, can you still use Erin's ice power at the moment?”
“Wow, I didn't know you were so interested in me,” Vorden said as she rubbed the back of her head. “Actually, my ability resets every day and I haven't touched anyone today. Other than the two of you of course but you two are useless to my ability.”
With breakfast over, it was time for them to go to class. On the way there in the middle of the hallway, Peter and Quinn managed to see Kyle. Kyle looked like he was in top shape and had made a full recovery.
As he walked past, he made sure to avoid eye contact.
“Do you think he will tell the teacher what happened?” Whisper Peter.
“No, I doubt it, it is a shame for him to admit that he was defeated by someone weaker than him, plus it will only make him a target if people find out.”
It was time for the first class of the day and they had to go to the teacher room together. Their teacher that day was Del who was the same person who took them around the school.
The students took their seats and just like in the cafeteria people chose to sit next to those who had the same level of strength, all except Vorden of course. Vorden decided to sit behind the class with levels one and two and also chose to sit between peter and Quinn.
The other students immediately began to speak.
“He thinks what he did by sitting with those scum.”
“I also saw him sitting with them in the canteen.”
“Wouldn't this cause trouble for the hierarchy in school, wouldn't a second-year student start doing something?”
Note: hierarchy is the rule
“Yes, if he continues to break the rules, then they will bravely intervene.”
The difference in treatment is not just a matter of school, it is also a matter of society. Higher levels of power You have a better job and more salary you can earn. The more support you get from the government while the rest is forgotten.
The one above certainly has no problem with this. The lower levels of strength would do whatever they asked just to gain new skills from them in the hope that one day they could increase their level of strength and anyone who tried to interfere this, where it was quickly silenced.
That was the main reason why the Pure group was in the first place. To fight this system and that is also why they are treated like *******.
Del began his lecture on the introduction of the school and the great war.
“When we lost a great war against the Dalki race that's when they advanced. We call them Orix. This is the first time the entire world has been introduced to the ability. Unbeknownst to us, they kept this ability to themselves for hundreds of years just giving it to their family members.
Thanks to them, they share abilities with others of the human race but not all of them of course. When we talk about the Original, we are talking about the ability founder or the group who decided not to share his abilities with the rest of the world. “
Del then suddenly had a serious expression on his face.
“Although we are currently in a time of pieces, who knows when the war will start again and that is why you are here.”
After class, it is time for students to take a break. Vorden, Quinn, and Peter went out to grab a snack. As soon as Quinn stepped out even though the usual message had appeared.
[ Ding!! Exposed to the sun ]
[All statistics have been halved ]
The three of them sat near a nearby bench and Quinn once again felt weak.
“Hey are you okay, you look sick again?” Vorden asked, “And your sweat is like crazy.”
“Yes, I'm easy hot,” replied Quinn.
The three of them continued to talk about useless things and the experiences they had at school, until suddenly a group of six male students appeared in front of them. Each of them wore black arm badges signifying that they were second year students.
“It looks like the rumor was true.” Said one of the second year students.
“We have a business to discuss with you three, do you mind coming with us?”
