Chapter 63. Meet Abbey

Quarrels after quarrels between Anne and Van. It makes Van's emotions explode and always spill it on some employees in the office. It certainly affected Abbey who had just returned to work after taking time off for the wedding of her brother-in-law, Eric.

"Wow, you just got back, Abbey! Have you had fun with your vacation?" Van deliberately insinuated his secretary.

"I'm not going on vacation, Van. I attended Helen's wedding. Why?"

"Oh, yeah, I forgot. I'm sorry, I thought you were on vacation with your husband and the newlyweds."

Van's voice felt heavy, his appearance was chaotic, looking once like a drunk person. It was true, before he got to the office, he downed a glass of alcoholic drink. Although not really drunk, but the aroma can be kissed by the Abbey who felt increasingly nauseous.

"Van, it's better if you improve your appearance today. I'm sick of smelling alcohol out of your mouth!" The rebuke was blatantly thrown Abbey for his superior.

Abbey raucous without pause.

Again, Van laughed. He laughed at himself who was tossed around by life. In the past, she was with Helen like she's not today. Anne managed to make her life uncertain, even the woman had dared to challenge for divorce and occasionally threatened to abort her womb.

"Anne does not love me at all" Van said after his laughter subsided.

The Abbey froze. Don't they love each other? Why is everything changing so fast? Was there something that the Abbey had not known all along?

"Oh, huh? Why does that sound so strange in my ear, Van. Really, it is not intended to mock or scoff at various questions. Only, why did it happen? Does Anne love other men? Oh, or are you having an affair again?"

"Anne just wants to get back to Thanos."

Along with that, Abbey's phone rang. He got a call from Zaylin. The first call is ignored, but the next call comes back in. It felt like Abbey wanted to raise the call, but a few seconds later she realized that there was a Van in front of her.

"Let's just! It seems very important" Van said then turned from the presence of the Abbey.

Abbey swiped the green button and heard Zaylin's roaring scream so she kept her phone away for a moment.

"Hey, what's wrong? Your screams are deafening!" abbey protests.

"Thanos proposed to me, Abbey! Whaddya think? Do I have to accept it?" Zaylin's voice sounded very light, happy, and it seemed like the woman was overjoyed.

"Wait first! Thanos proposed to you?" Abbey asked.

There seems to be something complicated in their relationship. Van and Anne quarrel, while the woman wants to go back to her ex-husband. Now, Abbey instead gets word that Zaylin has been proposed to the man. What exactly has been missed so far?

"Yes, he proposed to me, Abbey! I don't know who to talk to to to express my current happiness."

"Oh, I thought you'd accepted it. How about we meet after I get home from work?"

Before his best friend drowns in a complicated problem, it is better to talk for a while. Gratitude Abbey can also talk to Thanos.

"Take Thanos!" abbey's orders.

"Okay, Abbey. Restaurant X, 02:00 PM." Zaylin disconnected the phone so Abbey let out a sigh.

"So, when did Thanos propose to you?" The topic of conversation has not changed.

Zaylin fixed her sitting position. He felt troubled when he heard the word information called. Is this about Thanos? What if the reality is not in line with expectations?

"Anything, but if for example I accept Thanos' proposal, how? After all, she's been a widower for a few months, while you've also been her ex-boyfriend in the past."

"Zaylin, it has nothing to do with me! I haven't been in contact with Thanos in a long time. Especially after I got married. We only meet if there is an event," said Abbey quickly. He didn't want Zaylin to misunderstand him.

"Van told me that Anne wanted to talk to Thanos."
