Chapter 59. Facing Dixie

Eric, as a man who takes full responsibility for the woman he carries. After proposing to the woman personally, they are now in the man's country.

Helen gets nervous when Eric asks her to come home. They will go to Eric's parents and ask permission to marry.

Meanwhile, at Eric's residence, everyone was preparing food. According to the orders of the hostess, namely Dixie.

"Actually who will Eric bring, anyway, Pa? Why so mysterious?" dixie asked her husband, Philo.

"Aren't you her mother? Why ask me that? It's so weird!"

"Philos! I thought that Eric was so close to you, that's why I asked!" Dixie looks really upset. Usually he is very quick to receive news or surprises, but this time he must refrain because no one can give us a surprise today.

A servant's voice surprised Dixie so much that the couple immediately welcomed her young master's arrival.

"Master! Madam! Mr. Eric has arrived! He's with his partner!" said the waiter.

"Hey, how did you know it was my son's partner?" Dixie curious.

"Mr Eric held him so affectionately, Madam."

After Eric's failed betrothal, Philo forbade his wife to betroth her eldest son again. Let the child find his own soul mate.

However, when Dixie welcomes Eric, she is no stranger to the woman he is carrying. To be more precise, Dixie had known the woman before. It's just, Dixie was trying to recall who the woman really was.

"Eric, welcome!" Dixie immediately hugged her son so that the hands of the two people of different types were immediately released.

"A lodge?" Dixie tried to remember the name of the woman who was with her son.

"Yes, Ma. I just booked a room for Helen to spend a few days here" Eric explained.

Yeah, her name's Helen. Dixie just remembered. Some time ago during Rylee's wedding, Abbey introduced her as a woman who wanted to be divorced by her husband. Helen is a widow. "Come, just eat it! The food was cold" Dixie said, allowing the couple to eat.

Eric did not wait long. He immediately filled his plate with some food on the table. After that, he took food for Helen. However, Dixie prevented it.

"Let Helen eat her own food! Men don't have to serve women!" reproof Dixie.

"Our guests are quite shy, Ma. So, there's no harm in me serving him!"

Dixie was frozen. The woman did not even know since when her son was close. After his sister's wedding, Eric gets busy with business. Of course, after Rylee resigned from the company and chose to live independently with his wife.

Dinner was quick for Dixie because she wanted to bring her child and guest into the living room, not the family room. However, for Helen it seemed like a long time revolved around her. The three people had already finished their food, in contrast to Helen who was still half again.

"Finish your meal! After that we went to the living room!" firmly Dixie who then followed Philo behind him.

Eric remained patiently waiting for Helen to finish eating. The man remains in charge of the woman to be married a few days later. However, he had to ask his parents for their blessing first. At least they know and Eric doesn't embrace the elopement system.

"You're so nervous, huh?"

"I'm no longer nervous, Eric. What if your mom refuses our relationship?"

"Don't worry, Helen. I'll try to get our plan to work. Don't be pessimistic, yeah! Come on, finish your meal and then we'll go to my parents!"

Although Eric's age was different a few years under him, but the man was very understanding.

After a few minutes, Eric and Helen were in front of the man's parents. Helen looked down on her head as she was self-conscious that Dixie must have rejected her.

"Helen, don't bow your head! Don't be afraid of us" said Philo unraveled the woman's nervousness.

"Thank you, Om." Helen tried to interact, but her throat seemed to be choked.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" Without further ado, Dixie asks Eric to talk to the point.

"We're getting married soon, Ma. I hope Mama and Papa agree to it without providing any conditions!" firmly Eric.

Dixie turned to look at her husband. The middle-aged woman took a heavy breath then exhaled her. It was as if everything was just going on without his control.

"Why do you feel rushed like that? Did you also impregnate this woman like Rylee did?"

Dixie's question was very interesting. It was like a question of intimidation and pointing at such a cruel thing. Never mind getting pregnant, just touching it has never been done.

Helen intends to leave, but Eric holds her back. However, the man had promised to marry Helen and could not be pushed back.

"Ma, I'm not Rylee! I have always respected women and treated them very well. If Mama asks like that, it's the same as putting your own son down. I'm right, aren't I, Pa?" Eric turned to Philo and then nodded his head.

"Mom, this time we can't impose the will. The more Mama bans Eric from getting married, there are two possibilities. Eric will either elope or have the worst choice of his life that he will be single" Philo told his wife.

Dixie looks just like a beard. I don't know what was on that woman's mind? Eric and Helen couldn't explain it. However, Eric was convinced to marry Helen. Even if he gets rejected, he will do the same thing as his sister, which is to get out of the house and live independently.

"So, what's your decision?" ask Eric.
