Mom, Let Me Be Happy

Mom, Let Me Be Happy
CHAPTER 8. Express feelings

A week went by, not a single day did Denny miss without thinking about Mariam. Until his body is unable to hold back any longer.

"Den, I've noticed lately that you've been daydreaming a lot...What's the matter, son?" asked Denny's mother as she approached her son who was lying on a sofa.

"No ma'am... Denny's okay!" repelled.

"Don't lie, no one understands you better than Mom!" mother's toilet.

"Is this about Mariam? Mom tell you this! meet him, because the more you avoid your feelings the stronger," said Mother again.

"But Ma'am... What if Mariam thinks Denny's taking a chance in a narrowness?" denny asked doubtfully.

"As long as your intention is not so, there is no need to fixate on judgments that have not occurred. I know you've had feelings for Mariam. Go, son, chase your love before it's too late for the second time."

Mom gave Denny advice and advice at length. As a mother who understands the nature and character of her child, of course Denny's mother really understands what Denny is thinking.

"Well ma'am, then Denny will go see Mariam...."

Denny's mother smilingly rubbed Denny's shoulders, a sign of encouragement and blessing in her prayer. After all, he already knew that Santana had divorced Mariam. On the other hand, 4 years without being given a living are born and doomed without a justifiable reason. Of course it is enough for Mariam if she wants to untie her.

With his favorite motorcycle, Denny went to meet the idol of his heart.

Arrived at Mariam's house....

As usual, Denny greeted with a greeting, then Mariam answered him. Without speaking stale longer, Denny immediately expressed his heart intent.

"Mariam... Did you never think of remarrying?" ask Denny.

"What do you mean by this question?" Mariam asked back.

"I want to marry you, Mariam!" Denny's toilet.

"I'm sorry, but I don't want to rush" replied Mariam.

"For that long and long wait of yours, it doesn't feel right to say hurry, Mariam!" denny said with confidence.

"For me it's been too long Mariam. I always loved you even before you decided to marry Santana mas" continued Denny.

Hearing Denny's words, Mariam was very surprised. However, Mariam does not necessarily have the hope of assuring the proposal Denny.

"But Mas. I don't want Mas to marry me just because I feel sorry for me" Mariam said.

"Mariam, you're too tough for me to feel sorry for, even I know how persistent your struggle is to take care of Shaka alone" Denny said.

"Please ask your own heart Mariam. Am I someone who can't even express my own feelings, deserves to feel sorry for you?"

Mariam was silently bowed to hear all of Denny's words.

"Alright Mas, give me some time to think about it," Mariam said after a long sigh.

"Well Mariam, of course!" then "This time I'm going to force you a little bit, Mariam" Denny said.

"Thank you, then Mariam wants to continue Mariam's work first" Mariam said.

Mariam is still confused because Denny is still standing and does not look intent to go or go home. Denny still stood as if expecting something. Until Mariam did not go into her house and asked again.

"Mass?" Mariam put on a face full of questions.

"I'm waiting for Shaka, where's my hero?" denny said without caring about the confusion that hit Mariam.

"Shaka is sleeping, Mas!" firmly Mariam who is a bit uncomfortable because Denny continues to stand not budging.

"Well, I'll wait for him to wake up!" Denny's toilet. Mariam was speechless, she was confused to give Denny another reason.

As Mariam moved her lips to say something, Denny always cut her off.

"It's okay, Mariam. I'd say we have nothing" Denny said as if toying with Mariam's concerns.

"Mas! please understand my position, my ears can be blocked by their gossip if Mas stays here!" firmly Mariam began to feel annoyed.

"It's good that if your ears are clogged, it means that you won't hear the noise clearly" Denny replied, causing Mariam to bend her face.

"You're saying the wrong thing, miss." said Denny. Take it easy I'll offer you the best solution" he continued.

"What solution? there's no solution to a neighbor's mouth!" concluded Mariam with a tone of voice that shows she was lazy to talk again.

"We marry Mariam, and your dear neighbors will be silent...."

Mariam was silent for a moment, then she actually went inside her house leaving Denny with her silly babble. Mariam hoped that with her attitude Denny would give up and leave. However, it was not as easy as Mariam thought.

Denny who was originally standing, is now sitting looking for a comfortable position. On the porch of Mariam's modest home, Denny continues to wait. His eyes were now beginning to show a twinkle of despair.

Mariam who was peeking out from behind the curtains, which covered the glass windows of her house started to feel a little guilty. But another thought brushed off his guilt, 'toh him and Denny did not have a bond.'

"Mother...What are you looking at?" shaka's voice startled Mariam who was peeking at Denny.

"Ti's... There's nothing Shaka, I have to finish my cooking first," stuttered Mariam who immediately sauntered towards the kitchen.

The little boy was not sure of his mother's answer, finally he made sure for himself what was out there.

"Uncle Denny!" shaka said as he ran towards Denny.

"Pamaan... Why don't you come in? is uncle afraid of neighbors, like Mom?" the little boy struggled in Denny's hands.

Shaka's presence restores Denny's spirit again.

"No dear, of course Uncle Denny is not afraid of the neighbors," he argued. "Here's bisiki uncle, 'Uncle is afraid of your mother' so is Shaka!" denny whispered in Shaka's ear.

"Oh like that uncle?" shaka said innocently.

Mariam who began to suspect, peeked back from behind the window curtains. "What are those two men?" mariam's murmuring was faintly heard by Denny.

"Shaka, pay attention! did Shaka hear anything from inside there?" said Denny who realized the existence of Mariam behind the curtain.

"No uncle, Shaka didn't hear anything," he replied with a serious face.

Hearing that Mariam flinched, it seemed that her existence was starting to be unsafe because it was already known by Denny.

"Alright Mariam. Let's just see when you're going to hide behind those curtains," Denny squinted his two eyes as he nodded.

"Uncle, why didn't Uncle come here for so long, let Shaka play?" ask Shaka.

A week ago Denny did not visit him at all, because he was at war with his own mind.

"Uncle isn't afraid of you, is he?" shaka continued who had not yet received an answer from Denny.

Denny smiled at the innocent question, then stroked Shaka's head gently. In contrast to Mariam who was worried that the boy said no.

"Unforth Uncle, uncle became a child just like Shaka," he chanted with Denny's laughter.

"It can't be a pity, if you've grown up you can't be small anymore like Shaka..," Denny said in the middle of her laughter.

"Well, no pama! if the uncle remains an adult, then the uncle still does not dare to tell Mother, if the uncle loves Mother."

*jlep!

Sure enough, Mariam's worries have now truly come true.

Seriate....
