Mom, Let Me Be Happy

Mom, Let Me Be Happy
CHAPTER 4. Berserk

"Uncle Denny... Does uncle know where you are?" shaka said suddenly throwing a question sentence that made Denny choke.

"But be careful!" mariam says reflex.

Shaka's question made Denny and Mariam look at each other as if unexpected. But wait a minute! Mariam thought of one thing. 'Isn't a letter Santana sent the other day through Denny? that means it's not impossible if Denny actually knows about santana all this time'. To convince herself, Mariam tells Shaka to go inside the house, and the boy complies.

After Shaka enters, Mariam speaks with Denny. Although Mariam felt bad but she tried to be brave.

"Mas Denny! may I ask you one thing?" ask Mariam.

"Say...!" denny replied, nodding his head.

"The letter that Denny brought the other day, is it really from Santana mas?" mariam asked with a probing look.

Denny just silently did not talk, his lips instantly mute and make himself difficult to talk.

"Buck...!" said Mariam who was still waiting for an answer from Denny.

"Mariam do you think I'm lying? of course the letter was from Santana mas." explained Denny who immediately mentioned the name Mariam without the prefix 'mbak'.

"That's not what Mariam meant, Mariam didn't think Denny was lying to Mariam."

"Why do you ask me that?" denny asked.

"So right all this time Denny knows? or maybe meet with Santana?"

"Enough Mariam! stop remembering men who don't even care about your suffering" Denny snapped.

Suddenly Denny's anger enslaves as Mariam continues to inquire about Santana. Not because Denny was jealous, but Denny was furious at Santana who had left Mariam without feeling.

Hearing Denny's scattering, Mariam's tears spilled down her cheeks. Mariam was confused 'why is Denny so angry?'. While Denny looks worried and confused by what he has done to make Mariam cry.

"Ma... Mariam forgive me! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings" nervous Denny.

"But you've done it mas, you remind me of that wound! the wound that was incised by the father of my son" inward Mariam.

"Come Mariam! you're tired aren't you? take a break and don't forget to eat." Denny ordered.

Mariam nodded and went into the house, following Shaka. While Denny immediately went on his motorcycle.

On the way home, Denny continues to grieve his folly. Why is she so emotional hearing Santana's name? even though there was one thing that was unplanned to happen just like that. He was the one who dared to call Mariam by name. Denny just doesn't want the person he loves to keep glued to the person who wasted him.

***

In her house, Mariam again had to hide her tears from Shaka. It's okay if once again he has to pretend to be tough in front of Shaka. Hopefully the day after tomorrow he becomes a real tough.

"Mother, Shaka is hungry ma'am!" lamented the little boy.

"We eat yes dear," said Mariam set her voice so as not to sound raucous after crying earlier.

With the food that Denny bought earlier, Mariam fed Shaka first, then followed by her after Shaka felt full. To pretend to be okay, of course, it takes energy, right? so Mariam ate ravenously back then.

"Why did Denny scold me like a child? then why do I obey his word?" muttered Mariam noticed a slight strangeness on her and Denny.

If Mariam thinks about it, what is a Denny who is a nobody who cares about and cares about himself and Shaka? it is precisely Santana who is a husband and father of his son even wasted himself.

The mosquito in his head made Mariam dizzy, until finally he fell asleep on Shaka's side.

In a different room....

Denny was agitated at the thought of Mariam, there was a growing sense within her chest. Like a feeling that had been lost swept away by reality, and now grows again into something more fresh.

"Son, why daydream?" scold a middle-aged woman who is the mother of Denny.

"Eh Mother. No Ma'am, Denny's just hungry!" denny lied.

"Oh, he's hungry! what with daydreaming like that will make your stomach full?" ledek Mother who knows her son is lying.

"Ah mother, just know that Denny is lying" said Denny and lay his head on the lap of the mother.

"How are Mariam and her son? are they okay?" ask Mother.

"Huh? oh Mariam, she's good mom and her son, Shaka."

"Why did Mom suddenly ask Mariam? can you read my mind? ah my mind is a work of writing like the author's novel, can be read all?" denny's mind is full of questions.

Denny was tired of thinking about his own inner mosquito, until he did not feel he was asleep in his mother's lap. Denny is very spoiled for his mother, especially his fate is almost the same as Shaka. When he was 7 years old, Denny's father died and until now Denny's mother did not remarry.

Dusk arrived, decorating the sky as wide as a expanse of a mother's love. The wind that whispered spoiled blew various news from the master of the news. Shaka and Mariam sat with their eyes fixed on the beautiful twilight sky.

At first glance Mariam flashed a good memory with Santana. When sweet promises break from Santana's lips 'Mariam, know that you are more beautiful than a twilight sky that is reddened like rose petals, and I will never leave you' Mariam smiled remembering that sweet remark. Although the reality that came to him was as bitter as bile.

"Mother, if Shaka grew up to be like dad? leave his wife and son?" said Shaka blurting out a sentence that was not at all unusual for a child his age to think about.

Mariam who was still staring at the twilight sky at that time, could not stem the urgent tears in the corner of her eyes. What does Mariam have to say to answer her son's question? on the one hand Mariam does not want Shaka to have bad thoughts about her father, on the other hand Mariam is unlikely to agree with Shaka's question.

"Listen darling! if Shaka grows up later, I hope Shaka will stay with the Shaka family, in the warmth of togetherness," said Mariam, holding Shaka's hands and looking into his eyes.

"Why is that mom? don't you always say that you're a good man? means Shaka has to be like dong bu's father?" flocked Shaka.

Mariam was confused to say what else to the critical little boy.

"Look, Shaka misses Dad?"

"Yes mom, Shaka misses you a lot, but you don't miss Shaka!" shaka said with teary eyes.

"Then, when Shaka is an adult and has children, never let Shaka's children long too deeply.hem!" said Mariam while wiping the tears of Shaka who began to make up on her tiny cheeks.

"Good ma'am!" she hugged Mariam.

Seriate....
