Mom, Let Me Be Happy

Mom, Let Me Be Happy
CHAPTERS 10. Marry Denny's uncle, Mom.

While enduring the pain of a burn in his hand, Denny bids to go home to Mariam and Shaka.

"Shaka, Uncle has to go home. Take good care of your mom, yeah!" pinta Denny rushes to her motorcycle.

"Good Uncle! Shaka will take good care of Mom" Shaka replied obediently.

"Mas Denny!" call Mariam who made Denny's step stop and look back.

"What else is Mariam? just a few steps I rushed from before you, you already miss!" denny is confident.

"Stop joking! I'm just leaving this for Mom" said Mariam.

"Is this the scorched sponge you cooked earlier? Mariam...," Denny's lead on seeing what he brought her was sponge cake.

"Do you think I'm that stupid? just piss me off!" ketus Mariam's.

"All right...'Look at Denny, she threshed your mother's sponge cake but she's so unfriendly to you, ' yeah, '" Denny grumbled, her voice was hardened so Mariam could hear it.

Mariam who heard that remained silent with a flat face. After she was done with her affairs, Mariam immediately returned home. Denny watched the footsteps of the woman he loved that escaped his sight.

While holding the heat and pain in his hand, Denny then drove on his motorcycle. Mariam looked at Denny from behind the curtains and smiled.

"Mother... Do you really love Shaka?" shaka asked, shifting Mariam's focus.

"Of course, son, I love Shaka more than I love myself" Mariam said, rubbing the boy's head.

"Then, can Shaka ask Mom something?" continued Shaka.

"As long as Mom can do it, I'll do it.. Say, Shaka wants what?" mariam says.

"Mother, can an adult remarry after the divorce of her husband?" out of nowhere a child of Shaka's age understands the word divorce.

Shaka's question dimmed the smile on Mariam's face. What should he tell Shaka? mariam herself was not convinced that Shaka would understand Mariam's explanation.

"Emmm... Shaka, I made a really nice sponge cake for Shaka, Shaka ate it first!" persuade Mariam to try to shift the subject.

"Good ma'am! but Shaka wants to know first, is it true that divorced adults can remarry?" kekeh Shaka's.

"Yes..," Mariam did not continue her words and just nodded.

"Mom... Shaka wants Dad, didn't you divorce mom? Shaka heard it, Mom. Then marry Denny's uncle, ma'am."

"Disha! don't be sassy..," snapped Mariam until the boy almost jumped in shock.

"Shaka, I never taught Shaka to interfere in adult matters, your time is not enough to understand all this" Mariam said as a bee stings its prey.

He tries to sting Shaka with a crush, but in fact he is the one who is the most injured. Mariam wept regretting herself, clinging to her son's feet.

"Mom's sorry, son" said Mariam accompanied by a tear spill that he could not bear.

" Mother... Shaka, I'm sorry, Mom. Shaka promised it would never be like that again" the boy said hoping to stop Mariam's crying.

With trembling hands Mariam hugged Shaka. There was regret that whack in the body of his heart, if Mariam could resist a little to not yell at Shaka, surely he would not be struck by grief.

Mariam brushed away her tear-filled face, then invited Shaka to eat the cake she had promised just now as if nothing had ever happened. On a small plate, Mariam gave 2 pieces of sponge cake that she had sliced and served it to Shaka.

The little boy slowly stuffed the sponge cake into his tiny mouth.

"Mother.this is the best sponge cake Shaka has ever eaten," he said comforting Mariam.

"Eat it, son, if it's less then add more."

"Isn't this sponge cake for sale, Mom? shaka asked who kept chewing in her mouth.

"If Shaka likes and wants everything... I won't sell the cake" Mariam replied, smiling at Shaka.

Although her heart still hurt by the thorns she created herself, Mariam tried to cover it up again with an expanding smile every time Shaka asked her to speak.

"Mothers... Shaka loves Mom" said Shaka staring at Mariam's face.

"Then I love Shaka more" said Mariam.

"Oh duhai nestapa, why have you been so long in my life? no boss are you afflicting my soul and my body," Mariam's mind is mourning her suffering.

Worn like an uninhabited old house, Mariam's soul and body were filled with nothingness that undermined her self-confidence. The word does not deserve to complain often Mariam said to herself. However, not infrequently Mariam felt really helpless and tired of heart.

If the time can be repeated again, it would be like she remains the little daughter of her father who has now died 2 weeks after the departure of her mother facing the Divine. If Santana promises it, or if Denny comes first in his life, maybe his fate will not be like this.

However, fate cannot be changed, fate cannot be denied. In fact, the accident is now happening to him and Shaka. Gameless footsteps sometimes can not make his body remain upright to support the load on the shoulders.

"Come, Son. I'm going to teach Shaka how to write the name correctly" Mariam said as she thrust a book and pencil into Shaka's presence in her spare time.

"With painstaking care Mariam taught her beloved son to write his name... 'A-N-A-N-D-A S-H-A-K-A' Mariam leads every point and line etched by Shaka's fingers while mentioning them.

Mariam also told the upper and lowercase letters and then repeated them again. At the age of 6 years, Shaka should have entered PAUD or Early Childhood Counsel. However, due to the limited costs Mariam had, Mariam eventually taught her own son to read, write, and count.

Thankfully, Mariam was able to get an education even though only until the Junior High level. The knowledge he got was not wasted by Mariam, although not high enough for an education at least enough to teach his children to write and read.

Mariam married young at the age of 19 years at that time, Mariam was 3 years old did not go to school or continue to high school, because the father was not able to finance her. Finally Mariam did not continue and daily help his father and mother sell chips.

Until Santana came to ask her parents Mariam, then shortly Mother Mariam died and followed the father 2 weeks later. Mariam was married to Santana and a guardian of her father's family who was still alive.

However, at this time Pakde or the older brother of Mariam's father, the guardian who married Mariam, has also returned to His presence. I don't know what God planned for Mariam's life, so the path of fate is so steep.

Seriate....
