CHAPTER 11. Slander

Fresh breeze blowing spoiled wind, hand in hand friendly with the shine of the morning sunshine. So sweet the sound of birds chirping like a song that flows beautifully. However, the Ratap in the heart was still throbbing pain.

Shaka takes the ball out of the house, throws it and then picks it up again. Dicky came with a piece of money. Then he calls Shaka and invites him to play in a normal place. Shaka who likes to make friends immediately agreed to Dicky's invitation.

At first everything was normal, playing like a child. Until Dicky accidentally drops his money and tells Shaka to take it. "Dicky.your money is falling" Shaka said, pointing to the money.

"Well, yeah! please get me Shaka, " said Dicky. Shaka, who doesn't know Dicky did it on purpose, complies with Dicky's words, asking for help to get the money. Shaka ran towards the money that almost flew in the wind.

Unexpectedly, after the money was in Shaka's hands, Dicky suddenly cried. "Hailway... Mom, Shaka took my money, ma'am" Dicky accused as he ran to his house not far from it.

The confused Shaka just stands dumbstruck with Dicky's money in his hand. He was confused to ask but, Dicky had already left while crying towards his house. Not long after, Dicky's mother came to Mariam's house and cursed Mariam with completely unfriendly words in her ears.

"Mariam... Mariam! come out, look and look at your son. Didn't you teach her to be nice?" hina Dicky's mother yells at Mariam's doorstep.

Mariam, who was making chips for sale, was shocked to hear a voice that was so loud that her ears were shrieked. Mariam turned off her stove and immediately rushed outside. At his sight there was already someone standing with eyes that were staring sinisterly at him.

"Sorry Mom, what's wrong?" mariam asked confusedly.

"You're not good at educating children, Santana deserves you," Dicky's mother inscribed wounds on Mariam's feelings.

Mariam clutched her chest with teary eyes. Why did this man come and watered back Mariam's heart wound with his words. What exactly was Mariam's fault and sin in him?

"Mom, I'm sorry if I'm wrong, maybe we can speak well in the house. Please come in, ma'am," said Mariam as she endured the throbbing pain in her chest.

"There is no need to talk about everything, are you not able to give your son pocket money? look he stole Dicky's money."

The woman kept cursing and pointing at Shaka who was already there, with the ball and money in her hands. Shaka's two best friends, Reyhan and Ali, are also there. They're not sure that Shaka did that.

His neighbor's ears and sharp eyes were ready to eavesdrop and lurk what was happening to Mariam. Some feel pity, but there are also those who make it a free entertainment. While Dicky's mother continues to corner Mariam and Shaka without finding out the truth.

Shaka stood up and stared confused at what was going on before him. The innocent boy did not have the slightest thoughts because he did not do the alleged thing. Slowly Mariam approached Shaka then asked in a soft voice as if there was a whack.

"Mother's Son, dear Ananda Shaka... Is it true, son? Shaka stole Dicky's money?" mariam asked her lips quivering while crouching holding Shaka's shoulder and looking into her eyes.

"Don't cry, Mother. Shaka didn't steal, Dicky's money fell and Dicky asked Shaka to help him" Shaka said.

"Then say politely to Dicky's mother, really" Mariam asked with tears held back and made her chest tight.

"Dicky's mother, this is Dicky's money.She took it when Dicky's money fell, because Dicky told Shaka," the boy said, giving the money in his hand.

Dicky's mother took the money roughly, with her cynical gaze and sharp mouth. Dicky's mother accuses Shaka of doing it. Reyhan and Ali, who already knew Dicky's character, were furious at Dicky.

While Dicky smiles wickedly seeing Shaka and Mariam humiliated. I don't know what kind of kid Dicky is? why does he have evil thoughts and is very detrimental to others. Dicky's attitude is intolerable.

"Baseth shameless, already poor, his son became a thief, also left by her husband," hardened Mother Dicky again.

"Enough!" Mariam let out a loud scream as if she was venting all her emotions and pain.

"I've been patiently receiving treatment and slander from you, and You're Dicky... What kind of evil thoughts enter your brain, so you can slander Shaka?"

"He's Shaka, my son, I educate him, I teach him, I take care of him myself. Even I know when he's being honest and lying just by looking into his eyes."

Mariam's patience limit is completely exhausted. Until Dicky's mother, who had been perched with confidence, was now silent and looked terrified. Everyone who was there did not even believe that Mariam could refute the slander that Shaka was accused of.

"Raydhan, Ali. Does Shaka look like a thief?" shaka asked the two friends who were holding Shaka's hand tightly.

"Yes, Shaka. Reyhan's right, we believe you, Shaka" Ali said.

The three boys embraced each other. Dicky, who was upset that no one was on his side, left while stomping his feet. Dicky's mother caught up with her son and left with a shy face.

Some of Mariam's neighbors also cried watching it, some others were dissatisfied because the free spectacle was finished. Mariam put her hand on the three boys who were hugging in front of her.

"Mother Mariam, believe me Shaka couldn't have stolen Dicky's money" Reyhan said.

"Yes, Shaka's mother... Dicky does a lot of bad things to Shaka" Ali said.

"Reyhan, Ali, Mother and Shaka are very grateful to you. Thank you good children, because you have loved Shaka and believed in Shaka" said Mariam with a loud cry on her face.

"Thank you guys, I want to be friends with Shaka" said Shaka full of seriousness.

The two boys nodded and smiled at Shaka as well as Mariam. Shaka is relieved that Mom and her friends believe in her. Although Dicky has slandered him, Shaka is not angry at Dicky, only Shaka is feeling very sad.
