Mom, Let Me Be Happy
CHAPTER 43. The House of Uncle Umar

Santana took a piece of paper from the woman's hand. "What's this?" santana asked, and she invited the guest to sit down first.

"It's a simple note Mas, I'm not good at making the report in the form of a neater file" said the woman. "Alright, forget! I don't want to read, please just explain to me" Santana said. "This is a report on the sale of cakes and snacks made by Mariam" said the woman.

"Did everything go according to plan?" santana asked while leaning her lazy body on the sofa she was sitting on. "As expected, Mommy. Our cooperation has only been running for a few weeks but, it has shown very good results," replied the woman.

"Good, make sure Mariam keeps getting orders!" Santana. "As your request, Mas, I will strive to continue ordering pastries made by Mariam, and market them. But if I may know, why would you do all this? Hasn't Mariam's mother's needs been borne by Denny as her husband?" the woman said curious.

Santana gave a rough breath. Her chest tightened every time she was reminded of Mariam, who was now someone else's wife. "I can't explain it now," Santana lowered her lethargic face, making the Woman feel unwell.

"M-Sorry, I didn't mean to.." Stuttered the Woman. "Oh, forget it. If there's nothing to talk about anymore, go home! I'm busy" Santana said.

"busy? What's he busy? It seemed like there was nothing he did," the inner woman wondered. "What are you thinking?" santana's asking surprised the lady. "Eem .. no, Mas! Yes, I've said it" the woman went in a hurry.

"Basic woman! Always suspecting everything" grumbled Santana. "At least now I can help Mariam, to earn so she doesn't have a full hand on Denny, to provide for Shaka's needs. Because I know, in Mariam's little heart, she must have felt bad for Denny" he said.

Then, with her solitude Santana returned to her room. Stretching his body while staring at the empty sky-space like his living space. The longer the deeper the matanyan back feeling sleepy and he fell asleep.

The fate of life is sometimes too mysterious to guess. Also very deep to be explored to the bottom. Because destiny is his secret.

So also with the path of destiny that must be passed by Santana, Mariam, Denny, and Shaka. They have never been in their minds before. That the reality they are experiencing is now far from expected.

"Dad, Shaka wants to get on a hot air balloon. We're gonna fly with Mom, Dad!" The boy was playing in his dream. A glimmer of pleasure was implied from the look on his face.

Shaka opened his eyes slowly and rubbed with both hands. He got up from his sleep and sat down. "What's up, Dicky? You're interrupting my dreams" Shaka protested.

"It's morning, Shaka, let's get up!" reset Dicky. With sleepiness still lingering, Shaka finally got out of bed. The two boys came out from the room.

"Where is Dad going? Why is Dad so handsome?" flocked Shaka while scattering into Denny's sling, who was already wearing a neat suit. Dicky smiled looking at her, there were tears held in the corner of his eyes. "Dad wants to go for a while for a job" Denny said, then kissed Shaka on the cheek and lowered her from the sling.

"If only my father loved me like his father Shaka" Dicky said, hiding tears behind his face. "What's up, Dicky? ask Denny. The boy just shook his head.

"Come on Dicky, we're ready. Later we play to uncle Umar's place, 'can ya?" shaka said talk to Dicky, and Denny at the same time. "Biklah, then quickly you prepare. I'll take you all away to take care of Daddy's work."

The two boys ran to take a shower and changed their clothes 15 minutes later, they were ready. The boys looked handsome and fresh.

"Is everything ready?" asked Denny who had been waiting. "Ready, Dad. Ready, Uncle" they said. "Pamit first to Mom, and Grandma" Denny said. Then, they walked towards the kitchen where Mariam, and also Denny's mother was struggling to arrange a large order of cakes.

After saying goodbye and asking permission. They went with Denny to Umar and Lita's house. The two looked so happy and continued to chatter along the way.
