"Oh, don't mind. Let's just go." Ara whispered tensely, her eyes I looked at the figure of the man standing at the end of the exit road.
"If he tries to get in the way, just hit him. He's not a vampire, is he. His body will be crushed by the impact of your car hood." Ara added.
The closer to the man, the faster the heart rate of the two of them got and the aura of tension felt even more viscous.
Whuuss.... The car driven by Mariana glides smoothly without obstacles at the maximum speed allowed by the parking manager.
"Thankfully...." Ara slammed her head into the back of the chair.
"Is it possible he didn't recognize my car?"
"Huuufft, hopefully," said Ara sighing in relief.
Ara and Mariana glided quietly over the paved streets, queuing in a row of traffic jams that increasingly rampant every hour before home.
"Ara.pardon me for bringing you into danger" whispered Mariana.
"bring me? That's right," replied Ara indifferently.
"If we hadn't met at the restaurant earlier, maybe you'd be safer in your apartment."
"Silly!" sizzle Mariana once again.
Mariana silent. She knew her best friend Ara would never blame her even if they were on the brink of death. Just like her who would never blame Ara for anything that happened to the two of them.
Ara got off in front of her Apartment, waving at Mariana who was back on the road, coming home.
Mariana entered the house, her head peering occasionally towards the street. His feelings that had been anxious since earlier, made his mind chaotic. He felt, all the way as if there was a car following him.
"What's wrong?"
"Well!" Mariana shouted shrillly, Her chest instantly thumped very fast. Seeing Bima greeting him, his face instantly turned red.
"What's wrong?" bima asked, frowning.
"T-no. Maybe it's just my feelings. Me, it's okay. Sorry I was surprised, I didn't see you coming."
"Of course you didn't see me coming, because you came, not me. I've been standing here since you opened the door. What's the matter exactly. You look so fucked up."
Mariana shook her head quickly. "I just feel like someone is following me. But, no. It'sit's nothing. It's just my feeling I guess, don't worry."
Bima frowned. "Who is worried about you, too" replied Bima coldly, then passed away.
Mariana stomped her feet, walking to her room in annoyance.
"Based on the iceberg husband! Know his wife is afraid, not comforted or comforted." Mariana grumbled in annoyance. "Who would you like to worry about!" he was stuck in the room.
"Why is the prestige of a woman so high. Just tell me you want to be entertained or protected, then I will."
Mariana turned her head in shock, her eyes widened to see Bima was already standing in the doorway.
"When were you there?"
"Since you walked in, I've been here" he said calmly.
Mariana glared. He was sure that when he entered the room, no one was standing there. Bima must be making things up.
The man smiled wryly. "You may be annoyed, but you must keep a close eye on your surroundings. How can you not be anxious and feel in a stalker if your own mind is so messed up."
"My mind is not fucked! There's been someone stalking me, ever since I got out of the restaurant" Mariana said.
"Who?" ask Bima coldly.
"Stop it. But, that guy was trailing me and my friend wherever we went. And when our car came out of the parking lot, he followed me along the way."
"Maybe he just happened to be on the same path as you."
Mariana shook her head firmly. "No. He pulled over when I dropped my friend off at his house. And he slows down every time my car slows down."
Bima shrugged, then walked away from Mariana's room, back to the living room.
A moment later, Bima saw Mariana carrying a towel and a set of clothes, enter the bathroom. Bima walked out, closed the door. The man took his phone out of his pants pocket and started looking for one number.
"Yes, Boss."
"Who are you asking to look after my wife?"
"Stupid! My wife was scared. He felt that there was someone following him from the restaurant to the house."
"Oh, I'm sorry, boss...."
"Find your more professional men to be shadow bodyguards. Don't send a country cat to do it."
"B-well, boss. I'll reprimand him and tell the others to take his place."
"good. Then where's your progress in investigating the company's finances?"
"There's a little awkwardness, boss. There is indeed some money out of the company in the name of branch assistance, but the money does not reach the branch."
"Did my wife sign the process?"
"Unfortunately, yes, Boss."
Bima was silent, sculpting. How could Mariana so carelessly sign the file without checking the truth.
"But, Boss...."
"Hmm."
"I found a falsification of the data on the boss' wife's newspaper account."
"Is that?"
"Yes. They manipulated the incoming money data on the date the branch assistance was issued."
"alright. I get it."
"So, what should I do now, boss?"
"Do as the rules should, but don't be flashy. We'll follow the game. Let him air first, until it's time we fire the needle."
"Good, Boss. I get it."
Connection interrupted. Bima smiled blandly, her cold gaze looking threatening like an eagle.
Bima went back inside the house, just as Mariana walked out of the bathroom. Right in front of her bedroom door, Mariana suddenly fell down.
"Madine!" Bima jumped from her seat, running towards Mariana.
"Mariana, what's wrong with you?" Bima grabbed Mariana's body from the floor, propping her up.
Mariana held the side of her head, scowling it slowly. "I. sorry. Maybe I'm too tired. Today was hard."
"Dhh...." Bima gave a long sigh. She knew Mariana had gone through a very rough day today, but she had not expected Mariana to be this weak.
"Come on. I'll take you to the room." Bima lifted up Mariana's body, carrying her above both arms.
"I can still walk, Bima."
"Well, then go into the room and sleep." Bima lowered Mariana halfway to Mariana's bed, and let the woman continue on her own steps.
Mariana was stunned for a moment after both of her legs stepped on the cold floor, before she realized her stupidity.
Mariana immediately turned around, stepped quickly onto the bed and coiled under the covers. Bima looked at Mariana until her body disappeared under the blanket, then walked out and closed the door.
Hearing the sound of the door closing, Mariana twitched in place. His ears sharpened, trying to detect the slightest sound of movement in his room, but nothing.
Slowly Mariana turned around, staring at the tightly shut door. Mariana looked at the black door for a long time, and suddenly her tears melted.
Mariana crying. Not because of the pain that makes his head spin, but more inside his chest that feels like he was stirred using a blender knife. There is a great pain and disappointment caused by Bima's indifferent attitude.
Mariana did not expect more than good communication between them, but no doubt she still hoped to get better treatment from Bima, when her body was in this weak condition.
Mariana's tears melted more and more rapidly, the disappointment made her head more spinning and pain. Mariana cried, not trying to muffle her sobbing sound at all. Let her know how disappointed I am.
However, until the tears dried Mariana, Bima never peeked into his room. Mariana cried hard enough to vent her frustration.
Curious, slowly Mariana got out of her sleep and peeked out of the room. Slender. The living room sofa seemed empty. Mariana ventured out, checking the kitchen and balcony. Equally, blankly. There was no Bima anywhere in his house. It was fitting that the man did not come to look. Or, he actually left after hearing the sobs of Mariana which were quite loud. Maybe he was disturbed by his voice.
Aaahh.
Mariana turned around, walked back into the room and entered. The woman re-covered under the blanket, with her face swollen and her chest torn apart.
