Ch. 44

Angel saw Melvin's car leave his yard from behind the window curtain of his room on the second floor. His heart throbbed again to see Melvin and Eudora go together. I don't know why it makes Angel feel so claustrophobic. What more if you imagine Melvin and Eudora dating. Angel was still standing in his place until Melvin's car disappeared from his sight.

Meanwhile in the car, Eudora felt awkward because this was the first time she was just the two of them with the man who was already her fiance. A fiancee who was like a stranger to him. All this time they never knew anything near. Unlike Melvin who feels ordinary because Melvin does not have any feelings for Eudora. After all for Melvin this engagement is only temporary. Not going to get married. That's why today Melvin is taking Eudora away because there are things he wants to talk about.

"Where are we going ?" eudora asked Melvin who was focusing on driving the car.

"We're just going to lunch. There's something I want to talk about." Melvin replied seeing Eudora for a moment. Then he looked back at the streets.

Melvin takes Eudora to a cafe. Not to the VIP room of the restaurant when with Angel.

"I'm sorry if what I'm saying is going to offend you or hurt you" Melvin said.

"I know you're actually forced to replace your brother who was supposed to be in a match with me. Just like I was forced to accept this match." continued Melvin again.

Eudora just kept listening to what Melvin said. He still does not know what Melvin really wants to say. But Eudora is very hopeful that Melvin will cancel their engagement considering that the man is also forced to be engaged to her.

"Then are you going to break off this engagement ?" eudora asked expectantly for Melvin to break off the engagement between them.

"I won't decide" Melvin said confidently.

"But you just calm down. We are not getting married." continued Melvin who looked at Eudora with a smile full of mystery.

As Angel exited the room after several hours of confinement, she heard a loud noise from the back garden. Angel then stepped out to look at her. It turns out there are mommy, Daddy, Eudora and also Melvin.

Angel stood by the door while watching the four people who looked familiar. Eudora even sat next to Melvin. Angel has no power to see that. Angel turns her body wanting to leave from there but the voice of Sonia's mom calls her and invites her to join in.

Either what's wrong with Eudora and Melvin or in his troubled self seeing the relationship between the two that looks more friendly.

Melvin comes to Angel's house more and more. Every Sunday or two, three times a week Melvin would come to dinner with his fiancee's family. Or rather his wife's family. That thing Melvin did just for the sake of seeing Angel.

But in the eyes of Angel Melvin's arrival just because of Eudora. Because every time Melvin comes, the man will definitely bring something like chocolate or dolls that are liked by Eudora. Like tonight Melvin came with a bunch of white roses.
