Ch. 38

"Aurora, who's coming ?" the voice from behind awakened Angel and Melvin from their respective minds.

Sonia emerges from behind Angel.

"Oh, there's Melvin. Come on, come on in." Sonia warmly welcomes her prospective daughter-in-law who first came to their residence after officially getting engaged to Eudora.

"We go straight to the dining room just for dinner." take Sonia.

"Thank you Auntie." Melvin replied kindly.

"Call Mommy like Eudora. Don't hesitate we're family now" Sonia said as she walked into the dining room followed by Melvin.

Melvin even ignored Angel who was still staring at the door. Angel was stunned to hear what her mommy had just said. Maybe her family already knew about her and Melvin's relationship. Or maybe ?

A few moments later Angel came to the table. Everyone gathered there. Daddy and mommy look friendly and warm talking to Melvin. Eudora was silent. His sister was not friendly and quiet.

"Aurora, meet Melvin. Your sister's husband-to-be. Melvin is the first daughter. Brother Eudora. Aurora."

Angel's heart suddenly throbbed at the words of her father. Dad Abraham introduces Melvin as Eudora's future husband. That means the man he will be betrothed to before being replaced by Eudora is Melvin.

Angel dissolves with her own thoughts to the point of not hearing what her mommy and Daddy are talking about with Melvin. Even until dinner ends, Angel has no idea what's going on around her. He realized when everyone had gone from there and only he was sitting at the dinner table.

"Excuse me, miss. Aunty wants to take the plate." A servant's voice rattled Angel out of her mind.

Right now everyone is gathering in the living room. Angel who wanted to go straight into her room on the second floor was forced to pass through the room and hope not to be seen.

"Aurora, where are you going ? sit down first." Sonia's voice stopped Angel's footsteps.

Angel turned her body, saw mommy Sonia.

"I'm going to go to the room first, mom. My stomach hurts." replied Angel reasoned not to be forced to sit there.

After saying that, Angel continued her steps up the stairs without looking back. Angel did not even realize that since at the dinner table earlier Melvin secretly stole a glance at him.

As soon as she arrived at her room, Angel held her chest that had been pounding and throbbing ever since. Why does it feel so crowded like this. Shouldn't she be happy, Melvin doesn't recognize her and Melvin is now engaged to Eudora so she's missing the match.

Yep. Should so. But Angel felt otherwise. None of this makes Angel happy. He could not accept if Melvin married Eudora. Isn't Melvin still legitimately her husband.

"God. I can't share my husband with my sister."

Angel covered her face with a pillow. Why is the problem so complicated. Though only because he ran away from the match arranged by his daddy. Should she turn into Angel and come to see Melvin asking that the man divorce her.

Nope, no. If he came to see Melvin, the man would definitely not let go of him just like that after what he did last time.

"Yes. Lord. Where do I have to be ?"
