"How can you smile and get sick at the same time like that?"
The question kept spinning in Arzen's mind as he looked at Lucy. They were on the way home from the office to the house. Arzen was only dumbfounded to watch Lucy's warm smile before him.
"Oh my God, why is it like this?" He patted Arzen's arm.
"Come, at the end there is a minimarket. I'll buy you ice cream as a thank you!" lucy said enthusiastically.
Just now he melted the atmosphere by shifting the topic. Moreover, imitating Arzen with cold food that became his favorite in the human world. Food called ice cream does not exist in his world.
Arzen quelled his anxiety. He nodded and followed Lucy to the minimarket. The girl did not seem to want to talk about what she was feeling.
"I'll buy that vanilla, Arzen how?" Lucy handed me a cup of milk-white ice cream.
Arzen glanced into the refrigerator. He looked up at it. He thought it would be the same as Lucy's.
There's more ice cream in there whereas Lucy's only got one medium box. Arzen didn't have time to count how many packs were there. He looked at Lucy curiously.
"Can't everything be?" ask her with a plain face.
The minimarket guard who accidentally heard that held back his laughter. A middle-aged woman smiles at Lucy and Arzen's interaction stopping by the ice cream refrigerator. Lucy was nagging the man because she wanted to buy everything.
"You crazy?! Where do I get money, huh?! I'm not an emperor like you who can buy one shop!" his nag.
"Have any money for what to buy everything?! You want to eat until they melt and stale, ha?!" scold again.
Arzen pouted hearing Lucy's words. If he could get his ears out, maybe Lucy could get hurt. The girl looked at him sharply with a pointed index finger.
"not panned. Quickly choose any one as long as one is not all!" the girl closed while shaking her waist.
Arzen exhaled his breath. "Then the green color. Looks like blood orc–hmmpp!"
His mouth was immediately silenced by Lucy. He apologized to the visitors who came. The girl was afraid that Arzen's words sounded disturbing and strange.
"Just this time an emperor was silenced by the people—"
Lucy glared, "Shut up! You're crazy, huh? Watch your words when you're talking in the human world!" his words in whispers.
He took off a hand from Arzen. Made the man almost out of breath before finally rubbing roughly. He is shocked by the courage of Lucy who touched his face.
No, come to think of it, she's been touched by Lucy. Especially what happened not long ago when he returned to rain. His cheekbones were blushing red considering that day.
"Damn...! I was too rash then!" his inner.
He then exits when Lucy pays for his groceries. He could not linger and had to calm himself first. Lucy could laugh at him if she knew.
"Damn...! I can't believe she doesn't have magic...!" angryness.
He hopes the cool night breeze can drive away the red tinge on his face. He hoped that the tranquility of the night would rub off on a roaring heart. That foreign feeling stifled his chest.
"Other than this?! Why is it so hot when it's night!" his gerrick.
"Why are you grumbling like that? This is your green tea ice cream" said Lucy who just came out of the minimarket.
He opened a paper bag and offered Arzen's ice cream. The two stopped for a moment to open the ice cream. Arzen appears to be staring at the ice cream that Lucy bought.
"Is it the same as the one at home?" He asks.
Her green tea ice cream tasted fresher than 'creamy' like Lucy's. The girl looked up and hesitated. "Not really, different flavors but equally sweet," he said.
Lucy chuckled, "The color and name alone are different, let alone the taste."
"You taste green tea, then mine's vanilla. While those at home taste milk cream," he explained.
Arzen no longer bites the ice, he said, "You should have told me first." he said a little disappointed.
"You chose it yourself, I think you like the way it feels" Lucy said.
Arzen had already finished his ice cream half. A little more they would melt had even started to drip. Lucy who saw that let out her breath.
"She's a big baby." Her inner.
"You want mine?" ask Lucy while thrusting her ice cream which is still half too.
Arzen wanted to but also hesitated. Lucy bought it and she chose it herself. It's like choosing a war tactic, the risk is borne alone.
"No, I'm going to spend it on mine" Arzen said languidly.
Lucy took a small bite. "Eat. Eat this later I also eat yours," he said.
Though hesitant, the man finally agrees to Lucy's offer. He ate it straight from the girl's spoon. Then Lucy also nibbles a large size to help finish the green tea ice cream.
"Hm, yours does taste a bit bitter," he said after swallowing and guessing how the taste of green tea ice cream.
"Wait—"
Lucy realizes something after Arzen swallows vanilla ice cream. The man looked at her with a question mark on the face. He turned his body facing straight ahead.
"Stupid!" his gerrick.
Lucy squatted down and covered her ears. He trembled while holding his lips. "A–what was my first kiss stolen...?" thought.
He had just fed Arzen with a spoon that was also used by him. He also bites Arzen's ice cream. Lucy repeatedly cursed herself who thought this incident was a 'stolen first kiss' for her.
"Aaa, why should I do it with Arzen...!" it was her who pretended to cry.
Arzen who was beside him just stared innocently. Again the sinless face he showed. Different from the image of the emperor firmly embedded in him.
"Why is that?" chirps Arzen.
Lucy snorted in response. He then walked first leaving Arzen. The man was completely confused by his behavior.
As a result, Arzen had to speed up his pace to match the girl. They came home after eating ice cream. Arzen has also accepted that he should finish his green tea-flavored ice cream.
"Well, the ice cream isn't that bad. The bitter taste is like hiding and showing in certain moments," said Arzen.
He added, "A unique feeling!" praise it on green tea ice cream.
"Hey, I found such a philosophy on ice cream. You know what, Lucy? Choosing the taste of ice cream for me is like choosing a tactic of war in the magical world" he said.
"I have to be ready after knowing the results and the risk" he continued.
He did tell a story but this time Lucy was silent. The girl half listened half-thought of something else. More precisely, about the moment he ate ice cream with Arzen earlier.
Arzen turned to Lucy, "You why? Is it tired? I can use the same form-changing magic," he said, wailing to make sure no one was there.
"Lucy—"
