Arzen turned his head as his ears caught the murmuring sound of someone. The long-haired unravelling woman stared dislikefully at Lucy. He frowned, questioning what the girl was doing.
Karen Heldiva, one of the marketing staff. He breezed while flicking his long hair back. She saw the sparkle of the earrings and necklace she was wearing.
"Are you discussing a client meeting? Can I see the point Lucy made?" tanyanya as soon as she crammed.
"Please" said Lucy. He handed the laptop to Karen. The woman looked displeased, she covered it with a look on her face.
"Are you sure this is complete? Do not let the client not be satisfied with the offer we provide." He's ruffled around the waist.
The two people who had discussed with Lucy looked at each other. "Of course it's complete. We checked it out. The CEO's secretary is reliable" one of them said.
Karen bit her finger to hear it. "Be–so, huh? Well, I think you've been clenching CEO secretaries too often during meetings. I just checked it again," he said.
"Is it okay to rely too often on the CEO's personal secretary for every meeting?"
The two men returned to face. "Right as well.we rely on it too often," said one.
Another said, "But, his creation always gets approval from the CEO directly, right? That's a sign Lucy's got it's good" he said.
Hearing that Karen again bites her finger. He does not accept and take revenge in his heart. Especially when Lucy says that she does not mind as long as she is able to work on it.
"Basic licker," he murmured.
"Did you say something, Karen? If there is none, we continue to work" said a man in a light blue shirt.
Karen reflex shook her head, "Nothing, I mean, maybe next time you can lighten Lucy's load and rely on the others" she said.
"Well, I don't mind if you need your help" he added in a proud tone.
"Right, well, next time we'll ask you for help too, Karen. Let's get back to work."
Karen smiled until the two men left. He stared at Lucy after no one else was there. He grumpily sneered at Lucy before finally leaving.
Arzen who had been watching was furious. He soon returns to the room knowing Lucy will be heading there. It just so happens that Loofyn is already showing signs of waking up from a deep sleep.
Cclack!
"Ah, Loofyn up?" ask Lucy when she just came in.
Arzen does not reply, he is busy removing Loofyn from the magic box. Then pat her back gently. Loofyn wakes up without crying like he did at home.
"Well, I thought he was going to tantrum. I'm ready to kick you out if that happens" joked Lucy.
Arzen sighed, "You yourself how?"
"Eh?" Lucy doesn't understand.
"Didn't you want to cry like Loofyn?" ask Arzen.
The woman's forehead was creeping. His eyebrows almost interlocked, "What do you mean?" He's confused.
"I saw you with the person who hated you earlier" he said.
"You weren't angry when he looked at you so fiercely?" ask Arzen.
Lucy took a breath. "Why indeed? It's common here" he replied.
"Didn't you want to fight him? Don't you want to do something with my magic?" Arzen took out lightning magic from his hand.
Lucy raises her hand to stop Arzen. "Stop, are you crazy? I told you there was no need to use magic" he said.
"After all, what benefit do I get from hating others?"
Arzen didn't understand Lucy's words just now. He simply lowered his hand and the lightning magic was not so he used it. Lucy turned her eyes away after saying so.
Lucy sat back at her desk. He prepares for client meeting needs later in the afternoon. He let a man look at him with a gaze that was hard to explain.
Arzen then calms down Loofyn who starts whining. He put it back in the magic box. He fell asleep after he was filled with a bottle of milk.
"You humans like complicated things" he said.
Lucy smiled briefly hearing that. Though he also thinks the magical world and its inhabitants are so complicated. He never saw magic and it made him think complicated.
"You yourself how? Isn't your world going through a complicated matter?" ask the girl without distracting her from the laptop.
Arzen exhaled roughly, "Not as complicated as you might think. I'm the number one person in the empire, so it's not a complicated thing" he joked.
Lucy giggled, "Look, you're just as annoying as the girl. You criticize people but you do, too" he said.
"Hey, you've again likened myself to a human being! Not polite!" sergeant Arzen.
"As far as you are. Ah, do you want a drink?" Lucy moved from the chair to her little pantry.
There he brewed coffee on a grinding machine. "Ah, can wolves drink coffee?" lucy asked to make sure Arzen was not allergic to anything other than water, tea and milk.
"Hm? What is that? I've never tried it where I know" said Arzen lazily.
"Really, too. I think coffee is not good for cats and dogs—"
"Man! You liken me to them?!" omelette Arzen did not accept. He clenched his hands in annoyance.
Lucy just laughed while brewing black coffee. He gave her milk and became a caffe latte. Arzen already felt his nose begin to sensitively smell the coffee.
"You want to poison me?!" charge it as soon as the coffee gets to the table.
"Had expected, you're sensitive to the smell of possibly harmful coffee to hound—"
Arzen growled until his ears and tail appeared. "How dare you be human!" While the scolded just silently enjoy the caffe latte.
Arzen actually hesitated after smelling the coffee. It is sweet but also bitter. He saw how Lucy drank coffee without the burden of the sense of smell.
"Damn!" He took the glass and drank it a little.
"Hm? It was sweet and bitter at the same time" he said.
Lucy finds Arzen's funny behavior. The wolf man was somehow adorable while being curious about new things. He was very different from Arzen who was haughty as usual.
Lucy giggled softly before sipping her coffee again. He quietly observed how the man in front of him was sniffing and contemplating the smell of coffee. Drink it little by little then recognize the taste of the sweet and bitter coffee.
"Why is there milk? Is it okay to mix two different ingredients to drink like this?" ask Arzen.
"It's called milk coffee." He did not call it a caffe latte because of course the man would be confused.
"I grind the coffee beans, brew them, then filter the water only. I don't like it when there's a lot of coffee grounds" Lucy said.
"After that, I gave him sugar so as not to be too bitter. I don't like it too bitter and a little bit."
"Just after that, I added some milk. This is my favorite drink" he concluded.
Arzen kept watching him. He likes how Lucy explains it slowly. The girl was careful and painstaking that what she was talking about reached the one who was listening.
"All right, I understand."
"Are there no coffee plants?" ask Lucy.
Arzen shook his shoulders, "I'm not a farmer who faces crops every day. So, I don't know if there is or isn't," he said.
"Do you intend to be a cook in my palace?"
