Chapter 49 ~Hasil~
“Hard work never betrays results.”
- Unknown
When the underclassmen were busy studying, the ninth graders actually made a fuss in the field. The sound of the basketball bounce is heard, followed by the squealing of shoes that sharpen each other.
“Pas!” shouted a man while placing two hands in front of his chest. Shortly after, the ball drifted towards the man. When the ball was in hand, the man darted into the basket while bouncing the ball.
Certainly not smooth because the opponent immediately confronted. The man stops bouncing the ball and faces the ball into the basket. The male opponent jumped up, about to block the shot. It was a trick.
When the male opponent returned to the ground, it was the man's turn to jump and throw the ball. The ball soars in the air, touches the rim of the ring, and is thrown out.
“Position of your hand is wrong,” Yogi mutters from a distance.
He was sitting on a concrete chair. With a pack of potato chips in hand, he watched the game that felt boring. He wanted to go on the field and play. Those guys made too many mistakes even though it wasn't an official match. Yogis even want to teach them how to play basketball right, or at least tell them where their mistakes lie. However, he was not sure that it was the right choice.
On her right side is Lia. Noiseless as usual, now Lia was silent. The reason was only one, because the girl was busy reading novels. However, the girl did not read romance novels, as usual. Lia read Rizki's novel, fantasy.
Right next to Lia was a plastic glass filled with ice. Flavoring oranges and soaking ice cubes, the drink became a friend reading a novel.
It's rek-srek! The Yogi jacket was pulled several times.
Yogi did not turn away, but stretched out the packet of potato chips he brought to Lia. Lia's tiny hand crept in and grabbed a few pieces of potatoes. After Lia devoured the potato piece, Yogi pulled the package and enjoyed it again.
The person on the left side of Yogi is Renata. As usual, the girl was calm. Just like her, Renata also chewed on snacks. However, not potato chips, but cassava chips with a spiciness level of 10. It was not an easy challenge for Yogi.
Previously, Yogi tried these snacks out of curiosity. However, he only chewed one piece. The rest is devoured by Renata.
What astonished the Yogi was that Renata could devour the food quietly. Yogi did not even see a single drop of sweat on Renata's face. However, the girl kept pushing the food with ice placed on the left side. Maybe Renata likes spicy food.
Rizki is on the left side of Renata. The man was at the end, staring at the sheet of a fantasy novel. Just like Lia, Rizki was also accompanied by drinks. Simple iced tea became a novel-reading companion. The reason Rizki chose the drink was because it had the lowest price.
One thing that makes Yogi curious about Rizki is how many novels did the man bring?
When Yogi arrives at school, Rizki is reading a novel. Shortly after meeting Renata and Lia, Rizki puts out another novel to silence Lia. That way managed to calm Lia down. However, Yogi remains curious about the contents of Rizki's bag. It's possible that it's filled with five, or more, novel books. It makes Yogi think to check the contents of Rizki's bag.
“Yogi, can't you play basketball?” Renata turned, throwing a question at Yogi.
“Hmm ..., yes. Why?” Yogi tilts his face.
“You don't want to join them? Maybe you can beat them,” Renata gave a suggestion.
“Actually I want to join, but the match will be one-sided if I join,” Yogi replies while feeding yourself.
“Eh? Next weight?” It was Renata's turn that tilted his face.
“Yogi has higher physical and ability than anyone in school. Therefore, the match will be one-sided if he joins,” Rizki replied while continuing to read the book.
“Heee ...” Renata turned away from Rizki, looking at Yogi who was still enjoying the potato chips. “Do you aspire to be an athlete?”
“No. Basketball is just a hobby,” Yogi replied after swallowing food in the mouth. Before long, Lia pulled out her jacket and she held out a packet of potato chips at the girl. After Lia picked up a few pieces, Yogi pulled back the food.
“Isn't that a little unfortunate?” Renata's two eyebrows shot up.
“Not really. I have found my future plans,” Yogi replied.
“Looks like I can't see your match on television.” Renata leaned back, stuffing extra spicy cassava chips into the mouth.
“Sorry about that,” replied Yogi.
“Well, I can't determine someone's future. So, I will see what we will be like in the future,” Renata replied.
“Ya, great idea.” Yogi leaned in, feeding himself.
For a moment, Yogi pulled out his phone and checked the time. At 11:26 p.m. Soon enough, the lunch break will take place. However, there has been no announcement of the value of the UN. Maybe the teachers forgot about it or there was another cause.
“A tired of reading novels?” Renata and Yogi throw the same question.
“Be quiet!” Rizki got up and did a stretch. “How long was it?” Ask Rizki on the void.
“Entahlah .., maybe they forgot our value,” Yogi replied while chewing potato chips.
“If that's true, then ...―”
Ding-ding-ding-ding! The sound of the speaker cut through Rizki.
“For ninth graders, UN results can already be seen in the teacher room. Again, for ninth grade students, UN results can already be seen in the classroom. Thank you,” announcement over.
Ding-ding-ding-ding!
“Why don't we see it? I'm getting bored here,” Rizki gave a proposal while pointing at the back using her thumb.
“Good idea.” Yogi finished the rest of the potato chips and got up. The empty wrapper is squeezed and thrown in the nearest garbage can. It entered without obstruction.
“I agree.” Renata got up, did the same thing as Yogi.
Yogi sucks the ice and brings the rest. So did Renata. The three of them lifted their feet, heading towards the teacher room, leaving Lia who was frozen in a concrete chair.
The girl's hand moved to the side, about to ask for potato chips. However, Lia did not find Yogi on the side. When Lia raised her face, Lia found no one. Yogi and the other comrades had already reached the end of the hall.
“Loh, why am I left?” Lia closed the book and sped up, chasing after Yogi. However, the girl returned to the concrete chair to pick up the beverage left behind. After that, I followed Yogi.
“Why am I left behind?” Lia throws a question when she manages to accompany Yogi.
“You are too focused, so no one dares bother you,” replied Yogi.
“Wicked,” reply Lia while inflating one cheek.
“Sorry-sorry,” Yogi said while stroking Lia's hair.
It did not take long, their feet were already in front of the mading. Seemed desolate, no one was in sight, except the four of them. Maybe others think to see later. Well, good luck to Yogi and his partner.
Slowly, they approached the mading. Their views swept through each of the stamped sheets, looking for the names of each.
“I order 16!” Lia was jumping with excitement. Lia gets NUN 27.46.
“I am satisfied with my hard work. Order 5 can be where I take shelter at this time.” Renata scored 28.90.
“My grade is not perfect, but the first order is not bad, Rizki” takes the top spot with NUN 30.76.
“Then, isn't the 14th sequence not too bad?” Yogi smiled with satisfaction. He got NUN 27, 58.
“In the tryout you showed incredible progress and now you're in 14th place. Not bad, my friend,” Rizki embraces Yogi ruffling Yogi's hair.
“Congratulations, Yogi,” says Renata.
“Kak. Yogi, great!” Lia clapped her hands. “Ah, look at the last row! One more month will be graduation. Looks like it will be our last day at school,” Lia pointed at the last sheet.
“Then, why are we spending time together today?” Rizki.
“Es cream!” Lia exclaiming.
“Again?” Yogi tilts his face.
“I agree with ice cream,” Renata approve.
“I don't mind,” Rizki did not refuse.
“Alright, ice cream,” Yogi also lift foot and leave the mading. His colleagues tailed behind, about to pick up a bag and head for the nearest ice cream shop.
