Chapter 19 ~Discussions~
“Think and plan before acting”
- Unknown
Yogi follows Lia who leads the way. He spread his attention, watching the bookshelves lined up neatly. His eyes found various interesting titles, but he did not take them.
When she noticed Lia's back, it looked petite in her vision. The height of the girl was probably the same as her younger sister, who had just entered the Junior High. Lia's person is also like a child. No wonder someone thought that Lia was a child.
He also remembered that Lia had almost fainted from sitting on the ground for too long. It raised the thought that Lia had a weak body. Maybe Lia just wants to find someone who can take care of her, like a big brother. Whether it was a coincidence or not, but the girl pointed to him as the figure.
It had been time and time again that he had told Lia not to call him Big Brother. However, the girl was stone-headed. His words were not heeded.
“Kak. Yogi!” Lia's voice entered the ear, resulting in her steps stopping and her attention shifting.
“Ya?” He looked at Lia who was standing before one of the bookshelves. Just like the others, the shelf was much taller than Lia.
“Lost, by Mayn Urr Izqi.” The girl pointed to the title of one of the books. It was clear that Lia was unable to reach the book. Therefore, he took a step and grabbed the book in question.
When he saw the cover of the novel, he got a familiar name. The book is from the same author as the book he took.
“It's from the same author?” Yogi throws a question at Lia.
“Yap, she is a local writer. His work is good, but rarely known. She can write fantasy stories, science fiction, and romance well, Lia” explains briefly.
“Hmm ...,” she buzzed. Actually he wanted to respond, but he did not understand anything about authorship. He couldn't even understand some of what Lia said just now.
“I've read this story. It is about inter-dimensional adventure. The main character moves from one world to another in order to defeat the monsters between dimensions. Its main genre is Fantasy, but it has a strong science fiction element as well. Spice up heart-wrenching drama and romance. I recommend this story to that guy.” Lia tapped on the cover of the novel.
“Alright, we go to the cashier. I'll pay for everything,” Yogi turns and walks, leads.
“Hore!” Lia exploded, jumped up and ambushed his right arm. “Thank you, Brother. Yogi.”
“Come! I'm not your brother,” Yogi sighed, pulling the arm that Lia hugged.
“Heee ..., come on! I don't have a Big Brother and I always wanted to have one.” Lia accompanied him with bulging cheeks like a puffer fish.
“Haa ..., do you think I'm a thing?” Yogi sighed. “By the way what is Renata's favorite? I want to buy something for him, too,” Yogi back to the main problem.
“Ah, about that. Actually Rena has no special interest in something. She rarely reads, almost never wears accessories, and the way she dresses is almost the same at all times. When she had her birthday, I only bought her simple accessories because I didn't know what she liked or not, ” Lia explained at length.
“Are you really his friend?” A sour-faced yogi when throwing a question. When Lia gives the answer, she begins to doubt Lia and Renata's relationship. The two girls said that they, already, had known each other for two years. It should be enough time to know each other's likes. However, Lia did not understand about Renata.
“What do you mean, Brother?” Lia hit his arm, but it felt like a gentle massage to him.
“Didn't you guys know me for a long time?” Yogi stopped in front of Lia, and Lia stared in front of him. Now they look at each other.
“It is true we have known for two years, but Rena is like that. He never showed any interest in anything excessively. When we talk about anything, he can always follow even a little bit. His academic and non-academic skills are also strong. It's like, he doesn't want to look prominent.” Lia shortened while giving an answer.
“So ..., he's a Jack Of All Trade?”
“Indeed like that,” Lia replied while giving a hug.
“Alright, then what should I give her?” Yogis pull away, shorten, and close their eyes. His mind opened wider, looking for information that might be useful.
“Abviously Brother wants to give you a gift like what?” Lia pulled the sleeves of her jacket, showing a curious face to her.
“At first I wanted to give him what he liked, just like you guys, but now I'm confused because there is no suitable information,” he replied.
“What is no backup plan?” Lia threw another question.
“Why not just buy a book?”
“He only reads when he wants it. If I buy a book, it will probably just end up on the nightstand and wait for the right time to read.”
“Then?”
“I think I'll buy you something useful every day.”
“Pencil?”
“I spent almost Rp. 150,000,- for you and Rizki. If I spend a thousand for Renata, it will feel strange.”
“Hmm. What then? What about accessories? She can use it every day, although she rarely wears accessories, but since you are her new friend, I am quite sure that she will wear it often.”
“That makes sense, but I don't know which accessories are suitable for her.”
“Callung?”
“It won't be visible.”
“Ring?”
“Too expensive.”
“Then?”
“Maybe a hair clip?”
“If you remember what you said earlier, doesn't that still sound cheap?” Lia tilted her face.
“Indeed true, but I have nothing else to give her.”
“Why not add a doll?”
“Eh?”
“All girls do not hate dolls. I think she could hug that in her sleep,” Lia was holding her chin while giving an opinion.
“Good idea. I think I can buy him those two things,” he said.
Unknowingly, his left hand had already floated in the air, towards Lia's short hair and rubbed, gently, the hair.
“Before you said not to call you Brother, but you are treating like a sister now,” Lia replied while with a pouting face.
“Oh, let me praise you for your hard work.”
“Then let me call you Brother.”
For a moment, he refused. However, the sentence stuck in the throat and failed to spit out. The sentence changed, to another sentence.
“Alright, you can call me that.”
“Yey! Brother!” Lia jumped up, hugging her arm back.
He scratched his cheek, feeling annoyed, but did not dare to push the girl's face out of debt.
Finally they turned around, leaving the bookshelves that were witnesses. The cashier is the first destination, then to the accessories and dolls kiosk. Yogi also needs to see Rizki and Kak. Yuuta. It looks like a lot, but he's looking forward to it all.
