Chapter 37 ~Decision~
“Because when man takes the hardest choice, then he will only get a little bit of pleasure. However, if the choice was right, he would never regret the decision.”
- Mayn Urr Izqi
Time moves faster if you enjoy it. That sentence is not just nonsense. Yogis have proven it many times. Each time with Renata, even though they were just sculpting, time seemed to move faster. An hour with Renata is like a minute.
Time moves slower when you hate it. For example, when Yogi hears Lia's nagging. It might only take a minute. But it was like an hour for him.
Time only runs normally when with Rizki. I don't know what caused that. Maybe because he only saw Rizki as a partner, nothing more and nothing less.
Another example is the week he spent, yesterday. He's not exercising. He locked himself in his room, learning to try out.
After realizing that his intelligence was increasing, he spent time studying. Either, it was studying alone or with three other colleagues.
On Sunday he used it to study. He didn't leave the room, except for a meal and a bathroom.
As a result of his asceticism, he felt that he could answer all kinds of questions that came out during the exam. The preparation is mature and will not make the slightest mistake. He even spent time, almost, overnight reviewing everything he had learned.
“Hooaamm ...” The yogi yawns, while one of the hands covers the widened mouth.
His attention moved to the side, peeking at the contents of the class that was still leaping. His two feet brought him into the classroom. Attention switches on the wall clock, it still shows at 6. 14 am. There are still about 15 minutes before the gate closes.
Slowly, he left the door and headed to his chair. The bag is placed on the table, while the body immediately sits and the back is propped up.
He never thought that there would come a time when he was waiting for a test. This week begins with the first try out. After studying that hard, he was confident that he would score close to Rizki or Renata.
“Hmmm ..., why are you here?” His attention was distracted by the familiar voice. When he turned, at the source, it appeared Rizki who was standing in the doorway.
“What's wrong if I come early?” answer it with another question.
“Yes, I don't really care about your answer. I just didn't expect that you could come this early,” replied Rizki as she stepped in, approaching her.
The man put the bag in the drawer. Then sit down, accompanying him who is starting to feel bored.
“By the way didn't you never come so early?” Yogi starts the conversation.
“No. I come quite often this early.”
“Eh?” Yogi tilted his face then continued, “Didn't we often meet near the gate?”
“Ya, but I also quite often come early.” Rizki pulls the bag, unzips it and pulls out a fantasy novel.
“Ah, so apparently,” Yogi replied when Rizki showed the book.
As usual, Rizki is fond of fantasy books. However, Yogi does not think that Rizki will come early to read the novel. However, if he looked around, he found no one. For nerds, it is the right condition to drown yourself in a fictional story.
“Wait! Did Lia come early too, like you?” Yogi throws another question. She recalls that Lia also likes novels, even though it is not a fantasy novel like Rizki.
“I've met him a few times. So, the answer is, yes. However, he rarely does,” replied Rizki while opening the book. Those two eyes swept over every sentence that was written. Maybe he has entered full focus.
The yogi turned away. He used the seatback as a cushion, staring at the ceiling that looked frozen.
“By the way how is Kak. Yuutha?” Yogi throws another question.
“He is fine. Why ask?”
“Yeah, I was with him last Sunday.”
“You together?”
“Yes, just take a walk to the park and read a book together,” replied Rizki.
“Emmm ..., I'm not sure that reading a book together can be called dating,” Yogi replied while scratching his cheek.
“Yes, it depends on the type of girl you are with.”.
“Then, what about Renata? If I want to ask her out on a date, where should I take her?” Yogi peeked at Rizki's eyes which started to open a new page. But the man stopped moving his hand.
Surely that made him wonder why Rizki was sculpting. However, Rizki immediately sighed and closed the novel. The man put down the book and turned his attention to Yogi, while Yogi's face tilted.
“Yeah, I think it's time for you to ask Renata out,” replied Rizki with those cold eyes.
“Eh? Emm ..., a-are I ready?”
“Why did you ask me that?”
“Emmm ..., since you already said to ask her out.”
“Yes, you approached him well. I'm saying this because I'm pretty sure that Renata won't turn you down. However, the decision came back to you because the one who would invite him was you. How?”
The yogi turns away, making a long hum like a mosquito lurking around a prey. His two eyes were closed, his mind spinning, trying to think of the step he had to take.
He would be honest that he was ready to face Renata alone. However, he doubted that Renata would accept his invitation. After all, Renata never showed any interest in him. However, had Renata accepted his invitation, wouldn't that mean the relationship could have progressed faster? He can enjoy his days with the girl up to High School.
Right, her days would be nice if Renata always stood by her side. Renata can even help him in learning.
“I think I will hold this feeling for a while,” Yogi bowed, staring at the table surface.
“Hee ..., why is it like that? Don't you want to be with him?” Rizki held my chin up, looking at him with a cynical smile.
“Ah, no. It's not like that. It's just, I think that this is not the right time.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes, we are facing the test and in the future there will be more and more tests. Therefore, I don't think it's the right time to do that. I want him to focus on studying so he can graduate and enter High School with good grades.”
“Heh ...” Rizki grinned and ruffled Yogi's hair. “It turns out you can already think that far. I'm quite proud of you, man,” said Rizki as she continued to scramble Yogi's hair. However, Yogi actually forces the lips to smile.
Yogi felt he had missed a great opportunity. But he made the right decision.
“Now, I can't feel proud of this decision.”
“Well, because when man takes the hardest choice, then he will only get a little bit of pleasure. However, if the choice was right, he would never regret the decision,” replied Rizki as she pulled a hand and leaned against the wall.
“Hopefully. Good luck with try out.” by the way
“You too.”
Yogi turned, smiled, stared at the void.
