"I....." Rahma hesitated to continue her words,
"If you're not ready, I understand. Mas can wait" Anggara re-clutched his wife's body deeper. He breathed in the scent of shampoo that came out of Rahma's head even though it was covered in hijab. A soothing aroma, making Anggara feel at home hugging his wife.
"I'm sorry mas, I just feel in my heart there's still doubt. Something that had been stuck in my heart all along" Rahma finally revealed her heart, without moving from her position in the Anggara's embrace,
"Why? say" Anggara gave Rahma space to reveal all of her heart,
"I want to know how your relationship with your lover" said Rahma finally, seeing the change in Anggara's attitude in recent months made him start to dare to behave as it is, Rahma said, honestly as a legitimate wife in the eyes of religion and law Rahma still wants certainty. Rahma hoped her husband lived this household sincerely from the heart with the common intention to seek the pleasure of Allah, not just pretend.
Anggara exhaled rough, he had long wanted to tell his wife honestly. But Anggara felt he could not find the right time. Maybe tonight is the right opportunity for him to tell Rahma everything.
"Me and Friska are over" Anggara said steadily,
"Since I decided to marry you I've actually asked her to forget me. I don't want both of my parents to be disappointed if they find out I'm still in touch with her after marrying you. But he did not accept my decision. He threatened to come to my parents and ruin our marriage in his own way"
"I don't know what he's going to do, he's always been trying to make his wish come true even by doing anything. I don't want my mom and dad to be shocked by what's going to happen. Until finally I obeyed his desire to continue our relationship without being disturbed by our marriage. And I'm sorry if I choose to disappoint you more" Anggara said, sounding bitter,
"I followed his wishes. When we met at that tourist spot I really didn't know I was going to meet you. At that time I was doing a lot of work, I had to work late at the office. But again he did not want any rejection from me. I was forced to follow his desire to go to that place. And lately I've known that he's been deliberately asking me to meet his niece so you can see our togetherness"
"Two months after our marriage, I said that I would let you go and marry her officially even without my parents' blessing. I don't want to keep hurting you in this sacred bond. I know you're a good girl, and you don't deserve to be treated like this by a guy like me. I'm sorry, Rahma" there was a restrained sob on the sidelines Anggara told me. He was relieved to finally be able to say what he had borne himself to the right person. He believes Rahma can wisely deal with all of this,
"But she refused, saying that the contract she was on forbade her to be tied up in marriage. She said she didn't want to lose her job just because she had to marry me. You know, I'm disappointed, I'm angry. Maybe she's more concerned with her job than our relationship"
"He asked me to wait, he said his contract would expire in one month and I believed that. The last year of our relationship he worked in a foreign company with a considerable salary and facilities. Previously I had asked him to stop working, in addition to longer working hours, his job also requires him to travel frequently out of town or abroad and mostly with the opposite sex. I don't like that"
"In three months I didn't visit you because I spent more time working. He himself was busy with his work. His career soared to make him ignore if I did not update him and I ignored him. I held onto his words asking for a month to complete his contract"
"I'm angry, I'm disappointed. Even the debate between us was inevitable. I asked her to cancel the contract and reminded her that I would marry her soon. I even guaranteed that she would never lack materials after marrying me. But he didn't want to, he was adamant about his choice"
"He said that afternoon he had to go to the airport. It turned out that he had planned it, our togetherness to the tourist attractions was his way of distracting me. He was so smart, I even laughed. Laughing at my stupidity all along"
"That night, when he said he was leaving, I said that our relationship was over and I would come back to you" Anggara said, rubbing the dewy end of his eyes.
Rahma was stunned to hear all her husband's stories, she really did not believe that she would be faced with a problem like this. Rahma believed what her husband said, a feeling of pity slipped in her heart. This life is inseparable from the provisions of the destiny of the Creator and Owner.
Rahma does not want to be selfish, she also realizes that humans often make mistakes. If he realizes the mistake he made and tries to improve himself it is worth the opportunity he got.
"Mas, I'm sorry for the attitude of your lover who has wasted all your sacrifices. In this life, indeed sometimes what we want we do not get, on the contrary sometimes what we get is not what we want" Rahma sighed pausing her words,
"Every time we make the best choice in our opinion, we must be ready to accept the consequences according to our calculations. If it turns out that the calculation is missed, we must accept the bad consequences, live in difficulties and suffering. It shows the reality that needs to be understood, that there are still many sciences of God that we have not mastered"
"As a Muslim it is appropriate that we surrender, ask Allah's guidance, try to pray, and be ready to develop resignation and surrender to Him" Rahma said trying to give peace to her husband.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry Rahma. Really I'm sorry" Anggara back sobbing this time she cried in Rahma's arms. His body shook sign he was so hurt by what he was going through.
"I've forgiven you, Mom. May you be a special person and be a better person" Rahma received Rahma's embrace and rubbed her husband's back.
"I want to start everything with you, thank you for staying by my side until this very second. Now let me make up for it all, I sincerely hope for the greatness of your heart to give me the chance to be a decent husband for you and a good father for our children" Anggara said after breaking his arms.
Anggara looked at Rahma inside, their eyes clashing against each other. Rahma sought doubt from her husband's eyes and did not find it. While Anggara continued to stare and wait for the answer to what Rahma would give.
"Alright Mas" replied Rahma with a nod of the head, making Anggara's eyes sparkle with a happy sign.
