Zenaya's remorse

Chapter 16: Reagent Hard Effort.

Since that last meeting, Reagen has never been able to meet Zenaya again. Asking Grace is free. The woman seemed to be blocking herself from going to meet her best friend. Though he had also told the truth to Grace, about the engagement that Natalie recognized.

Zenaya also chose to lock himself during work. He never went out of the room just for lunch. Grace was the one who always brought food for the girl.

It did not feel like two months had passed. Reagents no longer appear in the hospital. Grace said the man had recovered and was able to walk without any more aids.

Zenaya thought, everything is over and she can return to normal life as usual. The last time Reagents words were no longer considered by him. But it doesn't seem so. After recovering from his illness, almost every day the man would always come to the hospital to see him.

Luckily, thanks to Grace's help, Reagen never made it face to face with Zenaya. However, the Reagents did not lose their minds. Shamelessly the man went to Zenaya's house and met his parents. He even memorized all the activities of the girl, from her work schedule to her weekly shopping schedule.

Zenaya certainly feels very uncomfortable. He repeatedly yelled and drove the Reagents away from his house, but the man ignored him.

"Find him, Zen. Just a second, okay?" Amanda gently stroked Zenaya's hair. He is currently in the room of his youngest son who has locked himself away since returning from the office.

The middle-aged woman still knew who Reagen was, the young man who had been close to Zenaya during school. In the past, he had invited Reagents to dinner at home several times. Reagent is the only man Zenaya has ever introduced to his family.

Amanda's still trying to persuade Zenaya to meet the Reagents. The man is in the living room with his husband, Liam.

Contrary to Zenaya's attitude, his parents even welcomed the arrival of Reagents. That is what makes Zenaya even more hate the man for having succeeded in taking the heart of her family.

Zenaya was silent. He did not respond at all to the mother's persuasion.

"Papa and Mama don't know what happened between the two of you, but, I hope you can finish it well, dear." Amanda smiled gently. His shady eyes calmed the heart of Zenaya who was being hit by anger.

"I'll never want to see him, Ma," Zenaya replied stubbornly.

Amanda breathed a sigh. Her daughter does have a stubborn nature like her husband. "Mama's gonna tell him, huh?" He kissed the head of Zenaya and passed away from his room.

"How, Ma?" liam asked as Amanda approached the two in the living room.

Amanda shook her head. The woman sat next to her husband. "Sorry Rey, Aunty can't persuade Zen," he said in a regretful tone.

Liam looked at the Reagents concerned. As far as Liam was concerned, the man did not seem to be a brash man. I don't know what makes Zenaya so reluctant to meet him, when they used to look very close.

Reagents smile knots. However, Amanda was able to see very clearly the look in her eyes that had begun to dim. "Aunty will try to get Zenaya to talk later" he promised.

"It's okay, Aunt. I'll give him time" replied the man steadfastly, though his tone sounded disappointed.

"You don't have to worry about anything. Zenaya is indeed a stubborn girl, but her heart is very soft." Liam tried to calm Reagents heart.

Reagent nodded. He immediately told the two girl's parents.

Unbeknownst to the three, Zenaya apparently peeked out from behind the stairs. The girl looked at Reagen with teary eyes.

Knowing Reagents were coming home, Zenaya rushed to run to her room again. He turned off the room light so Reagen didn't realize that the girl was looking at him from behind the window.

Zenaya gasped as Reagen turned to look at the window of her room. The look in the man's eyes again made something in Zenaya's chest rumble again. Unknowingly, a drop of tears fell down her cheeks.

Zenaya wiped away the tears and looked at her wet hands.

"Hey, stop being such a whiny girl, you idiot!" he swore to himself.

The fifteenth floor of the Walker Group building is suddenly crowded with Natalie. The woman on the rise was suddenly a heated conversation when she said she wanted to invite their new CEO, Reagen, to lunch outside.

Reagen stared lazily at Natalie. The man had repeatedly barred Natalie from coming to see him at the office. However, Natalie was similarly not listening. The woman even blatantly grabbed Reagen's arm while walking in the office lobby.

Sean, the Reagen's personal secretary, gave a stern warning at the sight of some employees taking their photos.

"Where are we having lunch?" ask Natalie as soon as they're in Reagen's car.

"As far as you are," replied the indifferent Reagen.

Adryan, the older brother of Zenaya, has just returned home after nearly five years of devoting himself as a humanitarian doctor in a small country in conflict. The man indeed had a very high social soul. Initially, Amanda strictly forbids Adryan's desire to leave, but thanks to the support of her father and sister, the mother was forced to approve it too.

After returning from there, Liam immediately put Adryan in his hospital, so that one day he can replace his position which will soon retire. He will be the youngest neuro-oncologist at the hospital.

Now, Zenaya and Adryan are having lunch together at one of the girl's favorite restaurants. Zenaya deliberately treat the brother as a welcome banquet.

"Five years is too long. It's time for you to think about yourself. Marry for example," said the girl while enjoying her lunch.

Adryan laughs. "Just not having a boyfriend yet." Answer the man.

"Eat immediately search. Older brother is enough to build a household!" zenaya said smartass.

Unable to bear the words of his sister, Adryan pinched the girl's nose. "I should have said that. You're almost three heads, but you still look alone. I heard from Mama, a man always comes to our house to see you. Who's she?"

Zenaya who had been smiling was suddenly silent after hearing Adryan's question without further ado. "Nobody." Answer the girl flat.

Adryan scrunched his forehead as soon as he saw Zenaya's reaction that changed drastically. "Why? What's wrong with that guy? Do I know him?"

Zenaya nodded faintly. "It's been a long time. Maybe you don't remember."

"Who is he?" adryan was curious.

"Only old friends at school. He used to drive me around a lot" Zenaya replied without interest.

Adryan was silent for a moment. He tried to remember the man that his sister meant.

Seeing the older brother was busy thinking about others made Zenaya sulk. "I'm taking you to lunch to welcome you and hear your story, sister, not the other way around!" the girl was upset.

Adryan kontan chuckles. "Alright .. alright. Then I'll tell you a little bit about my experience as a humanitarian doctor there" said the man.

The look on Zenaya's face instantly turned bright. They chatted without realizing that the Reagents were now seeing him from afar. He and Natalie just arrived at the same restaurant.
