The sound of birds singing in the morning woke me up. The sunlight slipped in from the window curtain gap in the room that was not tightly closed, and pointed right into my eyes.
With my hand I tried to dispel the light that pierced my eyes at this moment. I could feel how my head felt so heavy.
If you remember anything that happened last night, it feels like it was just a dream. I don't even remember anything after I told Olivia about my secret and Alec's.
"You're finally awake too." Vernon's voice was heard in the direction of the door I was backing up.
I turned my body to look at him sitting on the sofa near the entrance with a glass of wine.
I honestly wish Vernon wasn't there when I woke up. It is also very late now.
Nothing I said, I noticed my body that was currently wearing nothing. It really confused me because I didn't remember anything after I climbed the stairs.
"Have you forgotten what happened last night?" Vernon asked as if I could guess what I was thinking.
I didn't want to answer it at all and chose to go into the bathroom. But unexpectedly, Vernon followed me in. He immediately pulled my arm and turned my body to face him.
"Is that true?" Vernon asked with a sharp look at me. "Did you fuck Alec when he and Oliv Sudan were planning to get married? Does that mean you betrayed me back then?"
I smiled at Vernon to answer his question.
"Yes, because the man I love is Alec. He was the man who made me want to kill myself back then." My answer.
Vernon immediately gripped my face with a very angry look, but I brushed off his hand and pushed Vernon's body away.
"You don't have to be that angry with me when you betray me right now." My answer.
"What do you mean?" Ask Vernon.
"I know you were with a waitress who looks a lot like the woman you love so much, right? The woman whose face was clearly plastered in the room where you often spent a lot of time there!!" I am full of emotion.
Vernon fell silent and said nothing to refute what I said. It made me understand that everything I said was true.
"Go away, leave me alone now. You're mad at me because I made love to the man I loved back then. But you let the woman you love betray you even if you know it's true." I said and went straight into the bath up.
I tried not to look at Vernon who was still staring at me. He seemed surprised that I said that.
Something he even said in his sleep. Something about Wynetta's betrayal of her.
Finished soaking long enough, I came out after cleaning myself up. Vernon wasn't in the room, gone. I don't want to think about it either. Leave it alone if he wants to stare at a picture of Wynetta in his study, or I don't care even if he goes to see the waiter.
In the afternoon, I decided to spend time on the balcony of my usual place. My head was still so heavy that I chose to just drink orange juice and enjoy an afternoon that today seemed bright.
My phone rang and I answered Alec's phone.
"Viv, why did you tell Olivia about us having sex back then?" Alec's voice immediately sounded before I could bring my phone to the ear. "Vernon was so angry, he canceled the wedding and wanted to kill me."
"No, he's not gonna kill you. Go to Arthur's house, my brother will protect you from Vernon's anger." I answered casually, hanging up the phone.
"Est." Call me without looking back.
Esteban who was standing inside the room went straight outside and took a standing position beside me.
"What happened to me last night? I don't remember anything else after I brushed your hand off the stairs." I'm curious.
"Mrs lost consciousness and Mr. Vernon brought the mistress into the room but before entering the room, the mistress woke up and walked into the room with the restraining of vomiting." Answer Esteban.
After that I can be sure again if I immediately vomit everything I drink until I finally take off all my clothes before going to bed.
"Do you know where Olivia is right now?" My toot.
"Since last night Miss Olivia locked herself in a room after her wedding was annulled, Mr. Vernon, and I heard later that night she was going back to Oslo."
Soon I'll step my foot into Olivia's room. After my words that made her marriage null and void, I wanted to say something to that woman.
Olivia saw my presence by removing her face immediately from my gaze. I walked closer to the bed where he was sitting leaning on it.
For a moment I just stood looking at Olivia whose face turned to the side indicating she did not want to say anything to me.
That's clear, anyone would hate a woman who made love to her future husband. I can also understand this, because I feel it now. That's why I won't apologize to him. At any rate, what happened was that I was making love to the man I loved. And there was no regret when I did.
"Oliv, I know you've loved Alec for a long time. Didn't you?" I started talking even though it seemed like Olivia would have a hard time telling me anything. "Since ten years ago you've loved her, haven't you?"
No words came out of Olivia. I honestly didn't expect him to answer the question I already knew, because I saw him declare his love for Alec ten years ago. But then Alec refused by saying that he loved me.
"You know? Before marrying Vernon I loved Alec. I always thought he was my first and last love. But it turns out that it was all wrong."
I held my breath for a moment before continuing with all my words. There's something more important that I want to tell Olivia right now. Not a word but a question.
"Everything changed after I married Vernon and it looks like what you said back then that I loved Vernon a long time ago made me realize it was true." My speech.
My words made Olivia look at me. He looked at me with his eyes reddened, radiating his sadness.
"Tell me if that's true, Oliv." I cried with a trembling voice.
"Whatchu mean? What's right?" Olivia asked who finally opened her mouth. "I don't understand your purpose in telling me all that."
"Ten years ago, I was in my house with a girl my age. I was gonna take her to my room when I got Arthur's engagement party. But before we arrived, there was the sound of a pair of women and men making love. They're planning something. Me and the girl heard it all." I said with a sharp look at Olivia. "They planned to make a deliberate accident for the woman's purpose. I can't remember what the woman's purpose was. But can you tell me, Oliv?"
"I don't understand what you're saying."
"I know you remember it because the girl I was with was you, Olivia." My answer.
