THE MAFIA'S PENANCE

THE MAFIA'S PENANCE
YOU REMAIN UNCHANGED

Without a word Vernon dropped me off in the car. There was nothing he said and just kept silent while on his way back home. I became unwilling to say anything more when I saw the grim look on his face.

It's getting confusing for me who doesn't remember anything. All the words of the people made it harder for me to think right now. It gives me pain in my head right now.

Vernon just stared out the window of the car door until we got home. He immediately took me back to enter the house and walked to our room.

"Vern, tell me all the things I've forgotten?" I said as Vernon led me down the stairs. "You kept everything from me to punish me, but you yourself felt the punishment."

Still nothing came out of Vernon's mouth, he remained silent. Even he didn't look at me.

When I got to bed, Vernon lowered me to the bed, and he took the infusion fluid and the infusion pole that was brought by one of his men. I watched Vernon, he put the infusion on me himself.

After that he went outside leaving me alone in the room. I could only endure my frustration because Vernon remained silent even as he left me alone now.

For a few days I was in my room and not out. The gunshot wound to my left abdomen is also getting better now. Vernon only occasionally came to the room to change his clothes and did not sleep with me. He only often came to give me medicine and asked about my situation. It seems like he is still dodging or lazy to talk to me.

I don't care much about it either. It was even better if he was not in this room. Because every time I look at it, I want to know about myself in the past.

"I'll see you again when I have time, Viv." Sesya said as I called her. "Lately I've had to get serious about finishing college because you're not there now, so it's boring on campus."

"I can't believe you're just busy with your girlfriends, right?" I cried while changing the television channel I was watching. "Well, what do you think I am?"

"Why are you asking like that?" Sesya asked with a surprised tone. "What kind of person are you?"

"Why are you asking back?" I was upset by breathing out and putting the television remote beside me. "Because it seems like the old me is very different from the present me. Renata told me that too."

I can't tell Sesya that Renata and Vegard said I wanted to kill someone. I was afraid Sesya's view of me would change.

"You better not have to remember anything else for everything you've forgotten. I guess it's useless, too. You're still married to Vernon, aren't you?" Sesya.

"Yes, you're right, but at least I don't feel bad if I know everything in the past." My answer.

Suddenly Vernon came into the room. He saw me for a moment and then went into the bathroom.

"See, I'll hang up now." I said after that, turning off the phone with Sesya.

It wasn't long before Vernon came out of the bathroom, and took something in the medicine box that contained my medical supplies.

"I'm going to change the plaster, it's been three days, hasn't been replaced, has it?" Vernon walked over to me with a water-repellent plaster and sat down on the side of the bed to my right.

"You're mine, I'll do everything for you." Vernon replied, though with a cold look. "Now shut the fuck up, let me change the plaster and you don't say anything anymore."

Vernon uncovers my clothes and lowers a little of the pants I was wearing to look at my stomach that was injured by the gunfire.

"It's definitely your goal that I get bored of being alone in this room right, so you don't want to hire a nurse who will automatically be my conversation partner when I can just lie down and be in this room, right, right?" Look at me with annoyance.

There was nothing coming out of Vernon's mouth, he was focusing on opening the plaster stuck to my stomach so slowly that I didn't feel the slightest bit of pain. He did it very carefully.

"It's gonna make a scar on my stomach. I would not dare to wear a bikini or clothes that showed my stomach again after. You know that's so bad? And it's all your fault."

"Do I seem to care about that?" Vernon asked after removing the plaster. "You'll always be in this room and locked up in this house. You're not going anywhere let alone having to wear a bikini, it's not going to happen."

I snorted annoyedly at Vernon's reply. Vernon began to put on plaster to cover the wound on my stomach. He really wanted to keep me in this house. I'm not gonna let that happen. When I'm healed, I'll go wherever I want. There's no way I'm gonna let myself lock me up forever.

"I'll have the waiter bring you dinner, and have some medicine afterwards." Vernon cried when finished and went to the medicine box on top of the bupet, then took out a few grains of medicine to a small container for me to drink after eating later. "I want you to get well soon so you know what it's like to be cooped up when you can do things." Vernon walked over and placed a small container of three grains of medicine onto a small table beside the bed.

"Where are you going?" My toot.

"Do I have to tell you wherever I go?" Look at Vernon with a sharp look that implies a vexation.

"Since I got back from the hospital, I haven't had a bath. That was three days ago. Now I want to take a shower." I said with the intention of having Vernon help me to the bathroom. "I don't want to just wash my body, it's getting uncomfortable."

"You can call the waiter to help you." Answer Vernon coldly. "I'll call him now after that you have to eat and take medicine."

"I want you to help me." I stared at Vernon who was about to walk and intended to get out of this room.

Vernon was silent for a moment and looked at me with a lazy look in response. But after that he walked up to the bed with a snort.

He took my right hand and put it on his shoulder. Vernon made me walk into the bathroom.

"You know it still hurts a lot if I walk." I said while I was in Vernon's arms.

"real... You're still unchanged." Vernon.
