THE MAFIA'S PENANCE

THE MAFIA'S PENANCE
MY DEPARTURE

The sound of commotion outside rang out as I finished getting ready to leave. I can guess what's going on right now outside.

"Mrs, you better not go anywhere. You'll be angry if you know you're gone. And again, where are you going? What should I say to the master when he asks about the madam?" Gloriana kept trying to persuade me not to leave, but I did not press her and was busy wearing red shoes with high heels. "Madam, you shouldn't wear such shoes when you're pregnant."

"Be quiet, Gloriana, my head hurts to hear all your babbling." I grumbled as I stood up from the side of the bed after putting on my shoes.

A red bag that matched the red dress I was wearing, I grabbed from the top of the bed.

"Bring the suitcase, Gloriana." Excruciate.

I immediately walked out of the room to approach the commotion that was going on on the first floor. Gloriana still continued to babble so that I would listen to her words while carrying my suitcase, but I did not even touch her and kept walking down the stairs.

"Viv, where are you going? Are you the one who called La Nostra's men?" Olivia asked me as I was descending.

"Geez, you dressed like that when you were pregnant, did you want to go to a party?" This time Vegard, sitting on the couch, smiled in disbelief, seeing myself in a short dress with a string on my shoulder. "Vern, would be so angry at your behavior."

"Yes I'm going to the party and have fun." I answered without stopping my steps or reducing his speed.

"Sorry madam, you're not allowed to leave." The cry of a guard guard guarding the door as I stood in front of the door was about to exit.

"Open the door." My speech.

"Master asked us not to let you go anywhere." Answer the doorkeeper again.

"Viv, you better go back to your room. Vernon's been asking all the guards not to let you go." Exclaimed Olivia who was running her wheelchair towards me.

"That's right madam, go back to the room." Once again Gloriana did not want to miss preventing my departure.

But in my life, I never wanted to listen to anyone's words when I had already decided on something I wanted to do. I will never listen to anyone's ban.

"Hurry and open the door." My words are getting colder to the guard for them to listen to a simple command from me.

There was the sound of Vegard's laughter. He must have been thinking more and more that I was always acting as I pleased. Yeah, that's true. I won't laugh either.

"I'm sorry, madam."

Suddenly the door opened from outside. I smiled when I saw Pablo's right-hand man Arthur's trust coming from behind the door with his men. It seemed like he barged in without any care for the sake of carrying out his duty to pick me up. The five guards guarding the entrance pointed a gun at Pablo and four of his men.

"Miss, please." Pablo said, Let me walk out with his hand.

Outside the house guards had also gathered by pointing guns at Pablo, but they dropped him off immediately when they saw me walking out.

There's no way they can stop me from leaving. They can't do anything, just touch me they won't dare.

Pablo opened the car door and I went inside. The suitcase I was carrying was put in the back of the car without me asking.

I sighed and slightly massaged my feet which hurt from wearing high heels while pregnant.

"You know where Vernon is now?" I asked because I didn't want to answer the question.

"Your husband just left for Genoa ten minutes ago by helicopter." Pablo answered, looking at me.

"Make sure no one's following us." Excruciate.

"You take it easy, miss, Mr. Arthur has also ordered this. After all Sicily is your family's territory, only a few of Camorra's guards are in this city." Pablo.

I smiled with a smile, glad to hear what Pablo said. It made me want to get to my destination faster. I also wanted to know how Vernon would react when he found out I left home the way I wanted to.

"Faster run the car, I want to get there as soon as possible." I'm not impatient.

"Well ladies, the plane is also ready and will leave soon when you arrive." Pablo.

Pablo Belotti is a tall black man with a heavy voice. He was Arthur's right-hand man. She's 38 and since she was 18 she's been working with my family. There was hardly a secret in my family that he didn't know. Some say that Pablo would be loyal to La Nostra to death because my father saved him when he was almost sentenced to death when he was accused of killing both parents who had tortured him. I don't know if he killed his parents or not, but whoever tortured someone, they deserved to die.

Sometimes Pablo also often secretly followed me everywhere to take care of me, but I who had not wanted to be guarded by guards would refuse or throw him out immediately if I knew about it.

During school or college, I kept a secret about who I was even though it wasn't a secret because my last name was well known throughout Sicily or Italy. La Nostra, a ruling mafia family in Italy with headquarters in Sicily. No one would dare hurt me while I was in this city, so I didn't need guards while I was in this city. It also made me feel reluctant to leave Sicily or Italy.

"Sorry lady, only I will accompany you while there." Pablo looked at me again. "Is it no problem?"

"Not to worry. No one would dare hurt me while there." I answered with a confident smile. "Pablo, I'm glad you're still calling me miss."

"Yes, however you remain a little miss in my eyes." Pablo Smile.

It wasn't long before the private jet I was boarding landed at my destination. Pablo took me somewhere by car. Heading to a magnificent and largest hotel located in a port city in Northern Italy where I am currently.

All eyes were staring at me. Dozens of black-clothed guards did not dare to approach or stop my steps as I got out of the car and stepped inside the hotel.

"Mrs..." Finally a middle-aged guard dared to approach me. "Why are you here? Master will..."

"Where's the meeting place?" I asked without stopping my steps towards the elevator. "Take me there!!"

Together with Pablo and the guard I took the elevator to the floor I was referring to. No matter how long the elevator doors were open, more guards were on this floor, the highest floor in the hotel building.

I set my foot elegantly towards a door guarded by two armed men. But they did not stop me and instead opened the door of the room after the middle-aged guard who escorted me gave them orders.

The door opened and all eyes stared at my presence. About twenty people sitting in a circle in the room seemed surprised by my sudden arrival, including a man sitting in the middle seat, who was leading the meeting. His face immediately seemed to be holding back his emotions directed at me.

"Sorry, I'm late." My smile is on Vernon.
