parents in the library

A teleportation magic circle suddenly formed within the empty corridor.

In the next instant, two figures emerged from the magic circle.

The first was a woman who seemed to be in her thirties, with blood-red eyes and long black hair that fell to her waist.

The second was a young man younger than twenty, with red hair and deep red eyes. He looked at the woman with a helpless expression, after all, the woman had grabbed his hand and moved the two of them here without telling him before.

Those two people, of course, were the principal and I.

As soon as we appeared in the corridor, the principal put on an excited expression and walked forward while pulling my hand.

I shook my head helplessly. Well, I was also curious about what he wanted to show me.

"Chief of the School, where is it?" I asked while looking around curiously.I could see that we were in some kind of underground structure. The walls are made of square mithril blocks, which if I'm not mistaken, are bewitched with intruder magic. The structure is illuminated with magic stones located every few meters and emits a dim light. It gave this place a mysterious feeling.

“We call this place, 'The Maze'. This is the institute's most closely guarded secret, known only to a few people each generation. Not even the emperor knew it.”

"Huh? Is it okay to show it to me? ” I asked.

“Don't worry, there's a reason for that. Come with me, I'll introduce you to someone.”

I suppressed my curiosity and followed behind the headmaster. Meanwhile, I undo the spell that made my hair and eyes turn red.

The headmaster looked at me for a moment before sighing. “... Very beautiful spell. Where did you learn it?”

“From a book.” I lied without changing my expression. "More than magic spells, it's a magic trick, not enough to get into the headmaster's eyes."

The headmaster looked at me with eyes full of suspicion, but when he saw I wouldn't explain, he snorted and averted his gaze.

"… Peels." She whispered in an almost inaudible voice.I think it's better if I pretend I don't hear anything.

After walking for a few minutes, the mithril corridor ended and in front of us appeared a giant wooden door, also bewitched with some protective spells.

An elaborate magic circle appeared on the schoolmaster's right hand. It then lit up with a bright white light and entered into the door.

A second later, the door opened.

Inside, a room like a gigantic library appeared.

“Welcome to Secret Library. The place where all the knowledge that the academy had accumulated over hundreds of years had been gathered. ” The principal said elegantly and proudly.

I could only whistle in surprise. The number of books inside this place could be counted in the tens of thousands.

“Magic, martial arts, skills, spells, notes, and research. This library has everything. I assure you that this is the largest library in the whole world.”

"Very impressive."

"really? you're very lucky. Right now, only three people are eligible to enter here, you are the fourth. Now follow me to meet someone. Also, remember to show him respect.”

I'm nodding. Soon, we reached a smaller room that looked like someone's bedroom.

There, an old man sat down while holding a book in his hand.

"Teacher" The headmaster bowed deeply to the old man.

“... Teacher?” The school principal spoke again.

However, the old man continued without answering.

However, before long, we heard a soft and even breathing sound from him.

The headmaster's expression froze.

Gritting his teeth, he walked towards the old man and pulled his ears. "Mastering!"

"Huh? Huh huh? Little eva?” The old man woke up in shock. He then looked at the headmaster and rubbed his eyes sleepily. "What are you doing here?"

The headmaster tried his best to prevent his cheeks from twitching. "I brought someone here." Then he pointed at me.

Instantly, the old man's attitude changed.

His body was upright on the chair and his gaze turned sharp. When she noticed my hair and eyes, her expression became doubtful.

"Empire family?"

“Don't worry, sir, he can be trusted. He is not the heir to the throne at this time. Also, his relationship with the emperor was very bad.”

"Oh? Son of little Silna?” The old man immediately deduced my origin.

The principal was silent.

The old man furrowed his brows for a moment, before finally shaking his head. “Userah, you are the current principal. It's your decision who you bring here. ”

“Thank you very much, Guru.”

"However, does he have the qualifications to be here?" The old man asked with a serious expression.

"Check the cultivation." Answer the principal.

The old man wore a doubtful expression but followed the principal's advice.I frowned for a bit, but in the end, I decided to let the old man see it.

The next second, his expression changed.

"Imust be!"

“... Crazy, right?” The headmaster smiled wryly.

The old man's eyes were trembling. He quickly ran towards me and tried to grab my hand. I frowned and took a step back. Sorry, I don't want to be touched by an unknown parent.

The old man noticed my movements and froze in his steps. The next second, he laughed bitterly and returned to his chair.

"Sorry about that, I'm too happy to see a young practitioner outside of the twelfth layer."

I accepted his apology. “Do not worry about it.”

The old man looked at me again and sighed. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Samuel Barstool, twelfth-tier mage, and the previous principal of the imperial academy.”
