The Eternal Debauchery's

The Eternal Debauchery's
perpetrator

When we entered the room, we saw a young man sitting on the bed looking down at the ground with a blank expression.

"Stevens?" Evelyn called out her name and prepared a spell. But contrary to our expectations, the boy did not show an expression of shock or surprise.

Instead, he raised his strange pale face with a terrified expression.

“K-Head School? you came to arrest me?”

"… yes, you killed a student, Steven. So I have to catch you.”

“Once... I killed him, yes. Ha... Hahaha.. Hahahaha.” The young man started laughing like a madman. "Yes I did!"

"Stevens?"

"Hmm?" Steven tilted his head towards Evelyn. “do you need anything, principal? Yeah, yeah, I remember.. It was about Abel, right?”

Steven then stood up and walked towards the drawer. Calmly, he picked up the knife and turned to face us with a sinister smile.

“Heh... Hehehehe..” At a certain point, tears appeared in his eyes.

Steven looked at the headmaster with a sad smile and opened his lips. "Please, tell my mom that I'm sorry!"

Then, he slashed with a knife into his own neck!

"Stop!" Evelyn shouted and chanted the spell she had prepared.

Sixth Layer Wind Spell, (Wind Prison)!

It was as if the wind inside the room had become heavy. Steven's movements stopped completely, and the knife in his hand stopped before cutting his neck.

Evelyn let out a sigh of relief. He then walked slowly towards the students with a frown.

"Why did you do it, Steven?"

“Why, yes.. I wonder why..” Steven smiled wryly. The tears in his eyes began to spill onto the ground.

Then, she started crying.

“Sorry.. Sorry, principal.. Sorry, Abel... I don't want to do it, I swear.. I don't know what happened... Sorry, sorry..”.

Tears after tears fell to the ground. Immediately, Steven wailed desperately inside the room.

Both Evelyn and I were shocked. But I'm sure of one thing.

Steven didn't lie from the start.

Steven took nearly twenty minutes to calm down. During that time, she cried and cried while repeating that she did not want to do so.

However, I managed to gather some things all along.

First, Steven didn't want to kill his classmate, Abel. Or at least, he regretted it.

And second, Steven only killed one man.

In other words, he was completely unrelated to the first murder.

As soon as Steven calmed down, the principal let go of his restraints. He took the knife in his hand and told him to sit on the bed.

"Are you okay?" ask Evelyn.

The young man nodded. "Sorry about that, principal .. It's just .. I don't know what happened."

Evelyn remained silent. He looked at the young man with a pensive expression and sighed.

"So you killed Abel, right?"

"… Yes. I do not want to do it, but I just.. I do not know what happened.”.

“How about Kerl? Did you kill him?”

Kerl was the name of the first student killed. A second year ordinary student. The two cases are very similar, the only difference being the weapon used to commit murder.

But as I expected, Steven had a surprised expression.

“Ker? Who's that?"

Evelyn frowned. I, on the other hand, had already gotten an idea of what was happening.

But to confirm my guess, I asked the young man something.

"Can you tell us about how it all happened?"

"… Yes, of course." Steven then started telling us his story.

According to Steven, he and Abel are very good friends. When he found out about the duel between the Club Committee and the OSIS/Student Guard, he came to the class to invite his friend to go see the duel.

While Steven was talking to Abel, he suddenly got a strange urge to kill him. It was as if something was whispering 'kill him, kill him' in his ear.

At first, Steven thought it was nothing. He shook his head and laughed at those strange thoughts.

However, they quickly became stronger.

And when they were about to leave the classroom, Steven went crazy.

"Everybody ran away at that time." Steven laughed bitterly. “When I reacted again, my sword had already pierced Abel's chest. The last thing I remember was Abel's gaze filled with disbelief, as if asking me why I did it..”.

Evelyn was deep in thought. Looking at the pale young man, he asked something.

“How about his soul?”

But Steven's answer was an expression of confusion.

"i understand." Evelyn sighed. “Steven, can I see your memory? There's something I need to confirm.”

Steven was startled, but perhaps being too shocked by the situation, he nodded.

Evelyn put a hand on her forehead and closed her eyes. With a thought, he searched within his mind for the memories related to the murder.

A few seconds later, he pulled his hand.

"Wait here for a minute and don't do anything crazy." Evelyn instructed Steven before looking at me. "Klaus, come with me."

He then left the room.

I followed him secretly.

Once outside, we looked at each other with serious expressions.

"Manipulation of the mind" Evelyn said.

I'm nodding. “It looks like the mastermind behind the murder is more dangerous than we thought.”

Steven had obviously been manipulated into doing something against his will. Everything in the story shows that.

However, manipulating one's mind is not easy. A person capable of doing such a thing was someone who was extremely dangerous.

"Did you find anything in his memory?"

Evelyn shook her head. "No. Furthermore, I did not find any trace of someone tampering with his mind. It was as if he did everything voluntarily.I also found nothing about the other murders. ”

I furrowed my eyebrows. I get confused with every second that goes by.

“.... Principal, can I try to search his mind as well?”

"Huh? you?"

"I have a little knowledge of that." I've explained. "Maybe I can find something."

Evelyn looked at me with a suspicious look, but maybe because she was out of options, she accepted it.

"Be careful, don't hurt him."

I'm nodding.

Looking for Steven's memories was easy.I just touched his forehead and looked into his soul.

This time, I found something.

However, my face darkened quickly.

"Suckhead." I nodded slowly and pulled my hand. I then looked towards Evelyn and shook my head.

"No."

"So that's it." Evelyn sighed. “Yeah, it's worth a try.”

I nodded and fell silent. Like I said before, I really found something.

In the depths of Steven's soul, I found traces of the man behind everything.

However, there is a small problem.

Those traces were hidden deep within his soul. So deep that I had to break his soul to get it.

In other words, I had to kill him.

And right now, I can't do it.

At least, not with Evelyn here.
