The next three chapters are filled with explanations. Unfortunately, such an explanation is necessary for the plot, so be patient and sorry
…
I arrived at the spot Alice showed me a few minutes later.
It was a cafe located in the noble district. The restaurant is small, but comfortable and warm. And while it doesn't look fancy, someone with a good eye will notice that everything in a restaurant, from paintings on the walls to tableware, is very expensive.
As soon as I entered the cafe, I found Alice. He sat at the table in the corner, drinking a cup of tea elegantly.
As usual, she was followed by the knight girl and the butler. Hannah and Aaron if my memory isn't wrong.
I walked straight to Alice's table. As soon as she saw me, Alice stood up and bowed with a gentle smile.
"Prince Claus, it's been a long time since we last met."
"Alice." I returned the greeting with a nod. I then looked towards Hannah and Aaron and nodded as well. "Miss Hannah, Aaron's butler, how are you?"
“Thank you very much for Your Majesty's attention.” Aaron bowed slightly in response. As for Hannah, she just hummed in response.
After I finished with the greetings, I sat across from Alice and looked at her with an indifferent face.
"Then Miss Alice, why do I owe this honor?"
Alice smiled. "Didn't I want to see you?"
“Stop with the joke. Our relationship has never been that close.”
Alice smiled wryly.
In fact, our relationship can be described as an enemy. We didn't part well last time.
Besides, as I've said before, the seers are the type of people I dislike the most. They are manipulative, obsessed with control and plot. They like to have everyone on their fingers, manipulating the entire world from the shadows as the puppeteer moves the strings.
It's something in their instincts. They are born with the ability to see and manipulate the threads of destiny, so they instinctively seek out destiny in their favor.
Perhaps realizing that I wasn't too happy right now, Alice got straight to the point.
“You're right, Prince Claus, I called you here for a reason. More precisely, I want to ask you a question. ” said alice.
“Speak.”
“One of my men died yesterday in the academy. I wonder if prince Claus killed him and why.”
I narrowed my eyes. So the disciple who died yesterday was Alice's subordinate, huh.
But-the
"Why do you think I killed him?" I asked confusedly.
“... I think Prince Claus already knows my abilities, right?”
I'm nodding. I've been aware of it since the first time I met him.
Alice had expected that, so she was not surprised by my answer. He just started explaining the reason.
“My ability allows me to see (Fate) people and things around me. It is different from looking at the future, instead, more like looking at their possibilities. That (Fate) is more precise the sooner the destiny I see will happen. If I try to see fate too far in the future, the sheer number will likely overwhelm my brain.
“At the same time, the fate of strong people is very difficult to see. That's because the stronger you are, the more likely you are, and the harder it is to calculate. So, when one's strength surpasses a certain limit, I can't see anything. Right now, my limit is the thirteenth layer, but it increases as I become stronger and my control over my strength grows.
“However, I recently found a third-person type that I can't see. More precisely, I found two people, but I think both of them are the same person.you, Prince Claus, and the new leader of the Red Skull Gang, Clark.” Alice then looked at me deeply, as if trying to see all my secrets.
Alice shrugged as she looked at my expression. “In fact, it's easy to make a connection after I think about it. You used the same method to block my (Fate) reconnaissance with both of your identities, and after I saw the activity of the Red Skull Gang, you're using the same method, like protecting your business or spreading rumors against the crown prince, I believe you and him are the same person.”
Pretty smart deduction.
Alice continued. “Back to the topic, instead I can't see anything when I see you. Quite the contrary. When I look to your (Fate), I can see everything normally. Actually, I only realized the problem when I met you personally.
“I realized that everything I saw about you was a fake, a hoax, a lie. The possibility that I see is the one you want to show me. ” said complicated alice.
I'm nodding. "But that doesn't explain why you think I did it."
"That's easy. When I saw the death of my subordinates, I saw nothing. (Fate) just showed me that someone came in, killed him, and then left. Everything else does not exist. In other words, even though I could see that, (Fate), everything I saw was fake, just like when I saw you.” Alice narrowed her eyes.
Did ya?
Of course, it's suspicious.
Looking at Alice, I lifted the corner of my lips and spoke.
“.... What would you do if I really killed him?” my spoken.
Alice remained silent. He thought for a moment before finally sighing.
“... If you don't have a good enough reason, I will fight you.” said alice.
"Oh?"
“I know you are much stronger than me, and I may not be able to win, but I will do everything in my power to defeat you, even if I have to sell my soul to a god or a demon. That is my duty towards my subordinates. ” said alice firmly.
I'm a little surprised. Looks like this Alice girl isn't as cruel as I thought.
A smile of praise appeared on my face. To think he would go so far just for subordinates.
I then shook my head while smiling.
"Well, I didn't kill him, that's good news for you" I said casually.
Alice surprised. He then heaved a sigh of relief and collapsed in his chair, as if a huge burden had been lifted off his shoulders.
"I understand, it's good" he said thankfully.
I saw Alice's reaction with an amused expression. He seems to be more alert to me than I thought.
After a few seconds, Alice recovered enough to ask me another question.
“Prince Claus, do you have a clue about who was killed? He uses the same method to avoid (fate) like you. I'm sure it should ring a bell. ” said alice
I shook my head with a bitter smile. “I'm also curious about his identity, and a little worried.I know more about this than you do, and believe me when I tell you that the implications behind this murder are not something you like.”
Alice's face turned serious. Although he wasn't so sure about my true strength, the fact that I could injure a god was enough to speak. How strong is the enemy if someone as strong as me is worried?
Alice thought for a moment and decided to ask me directly.
"Prince Claus, if possible, can you tell me the situation."
I hold my chin in contemplation. Thinking about it, perhaps (Fate) Alice would help.
So, sighing, I began my explanation.
"How much do you know about the level of power in this world?"
