“Hah, I'll try again!” evelyn exclaimed and she started chanting the teleportation spell once again. Moreover, he did it while on my back.
I hummed in return and focused on the monsters that came. A raging monster that was hungry for food and thirsty for mana rushed towards us after sensing the large amount of mana Evelyn used in her spell.
From now onwards, my job is to keep Evelyn safe until she manages to cast a spell, or until she runs out of mana and we have to hide again.
I didn't even notice the first monster that came. Just a group of small monsters in the sixth, seventh, and eighth layers was not enough even as a warm-up. I moved around them dodging their slow attacks and carrying Evelyn on my back, completely calm.
However, the stronger monsters did not take long to arrive. Less than fifteen seconds later, a powerful wave of energy flew towards us from behind.
I narrowed my eyes. Without looking back, I stepped aside and dodged the attack like a breath. Then, I kicked one of the monsters that attacked us, smashed his head and used it to jump.
Just when I disappeared from my position, a tail-like attack destroyed where we were just a moment ago.
Looking behind me, a giant snake hissed bloodthirsty while its red pupils followed our movements.
Twelfth layer monster!
And that's just the first of many! A similar presence quickly approached our location!
At that moment, Evelyn opened her eyes.
"i'm ready!" With a shout, the magic circle under our feet lit up brightly and started the teleportation process!
But just like before, it was stopped by layers of energy attacking it!
Evelyn grunting. The barrier appeared again, stopping the energy. But as if to tell Evelyn that it was completely useless, that Energy shattered the barrier once again.
Evelyn smiled while blood dripped from her lips.
"Huh huh huh! i understand! I'm going the wrong way! Claus, I need a minute! I will modify the barrier into a spiral shape and use it to break through the layers of energy!
I smiled while dodging the attacks of the ape monsters. "Don't worry, you have all the time in the world."
Evelyn grinned and hugged my neck tighter. Then, he closed his eyes to modify his spell.
Since she had just modified it, the changes Evelyn needed to make were not too complicated. He simply changed some of the variables related to the shape and added other variables related to the movement. The goal is to turn the barrier into a drill that can break through layers of energy and allow teleportation spells to reach coordinates in our world.
Meanwhile, I continued to dodge the monster attacks.I remained focused on them to ensure that none of their attacks hit Evelyn while I used as little mana as possible to 'save' mana.
At this point, two other twelve layer monsters had arrived. What's more, the new monsters don't fight each other for the right to eat us and instead work together to bring me down. It seems they were thinking of killing us first before deciding how to split the loot.
A minute passed quickly under the monster attack. Evelyn once again opened her eyes and began chanting.
When the magic circle appeared, the monsters looked even crazier. It seems that one of the newcomer monsters managed to identify the spell function and knew we were planning to escape!
Evelyn bit her lip. He looked at my focused face with a guilty expression and sped up the recitation of his spell. In a split second, the magic circle lit up once again.
But this time, as layers of energy surged towards the teleportation spell, a drill-shaped barrier appeared around it, blocking the energy and at the same time drilling it to penetrate to the other side.
Sweat ran down Evelyn's forehead. He could feel the tension in his mental strength. Controlling the magic circle while at the same time resisting the energy was extremely draining.
But when she remembered I was struggling now to keep her safe, she gritted her teeth and endured the headaches.
“Aaaahhhh!!” With a shout, the energy layer was broken!
"Successful!" Evelyn beamed, but in the next moment, the mana in the teleportation spell was exhausted.
"Suckers! Breaking through the layer of energy using too much mana! Even if I can break through it, I won't be able to move us into our world. Instead, we will fall in the void of space!”
“Then we just need to cast another spell after that.” I smile.
Evelyn was stunned, then, her face brightened.
“I'm stupid!”
Without hesitation, he chanted again!
But suddenly, a powerful and ancient sounding voice came from the mouth of the monster, accompanied by an incredible pressure.
[So that's you.]
Instantly, my expression turned icy cold.
Evelyn paled feeling her presence, but she managed to continue chanting her spell. He knows our life and death can be determined by whether it can teleport or not.
“Of course, it's me.”
[Hahaha.I thought it was suspicious when I sensed the unusual fluctuations of space. But to think it was you.]
"Well, I came to visit." I shrugged my shoulders with a relaxed expression.
The monster carrying the immortal consciousness laughed out loud. His voice pierced through our eardrums, echoing in our bodies as a powerful attack.
I snorted in response. Opposite forces surged out from my body, clashing with Immortal attacks and stopping him from hurting us.
[Interesting. A very good opportunity.]
I shrugged indifferently. "you can try."
[Yes, I'll do it!]
Then, the monster roared.
Giant dark clouds emerged from the monster's mouth, nose, ears, and eyes; enveloping the monster and eating its blood and flesh.
Then, the dark clouds gathered into a sphere that quickly turned into a human form. It was the Avatar!
[Dead!] The Avatar Immortal shouted. A destructive energy spear appeared in his hand, piercing into my chest.
I took a step to the side, pressing down on the space above my feet and stepped hundreds of meters instantly. Then, I called out the runes in my mind.
(Render Reality)!
A translucent sword formed by space itself appeared in my hand, slashing towards the Immortal.
*BOOM!!!* Swords and spears collide, creating giant craters and destroying everything within a kilometer of us.
The monsters and creatures around us were instantly annihilated. Only Evelyn survived thanks to my protection.
But that was the first attack. A moment later, I attacked again, and again, and again. My sword and his spear clashed repeatedly!
But in the end, I was the real one.
Even if I am injured and even if I do not use all my strength, my strength is not something that a mere avatar can resist.
[CURRENTHHHH!!]
After the slash, the Immortal roared. Unknowingly, his body had split into two.
But I could not rejoice, for his body soon changed back, returning to normal.
[you will need more than that to destroy this avatar, brother!]
“Is that?” I smile. The next instant, a flash of light occurred, cutting the avatar into thousands of pieces.
At the same time, Evelyn shouted from behind me.
"i'm ready!" He then waved his hand, activating a teleportation spell.
The magic circle under our feet lit up. In an instant, space fluctuations surrounded us!
But the Eternal was not ready to give up.
Before we could teleport, a strong consciousness came towards us from afar. At the same time, the body that I just cut into pieces was formed again.
[Stay here!] The Immortal shouted and pressed his palm towards the teleportation circle.
I smiled and swung my sword. The space itself was cut into two, severing the immortal hand.
Then we disappeared from that world.
A few seconds later, hundreds of avatars arrived at the scene of the battle.
One of them, looking larger than the other, looked up following the path of spatial fluctuation.
[We will meet again.]
