Alan's group performance was really sad. Their clothes were torn in pieces, and many of them were injured. In fact, Alan had several scars all over his body.
However, most of the students focused on the fact that Alan's group was much smaller than when they departed from this camp yesterday.
Other than Alan and Christine, the only students who were with him were Cole, Al, Kyle (a student who fought in a duel), and two other students whom I did not know his name.
A little over ten students had left with Alan yesterday, but including Alan, only seven returned; and the returning ones were not in the best condition.
Alan walked towards us with a calm expression. His face, however, was extremely pale, and the fact that he was clenching his fists betrayed his inner feelings.
“... Dina.”
Dina furrowed her brows when she heard him and spoke in an icy tone.
"Where are the others, brother?"
“…”
"Are you not going to answer me?"
"… Die."
When the students around heard that, their expressions changed.
"So that's it." Dina smiled mockingly. “So you told me that the student you brought died, yes.”
Alan clenched his hand. He could barely endure the humiliation now, but he knew he had to remain calm.
If not for the fact that this was his only option if he wanted to survive, he would have gone anywhere except here.
But now that Dina had found an opportunity to take Alan down and kick him the moment he fell, how could she let him off the hook?
“Tell me, what are you doing here? I think you decided to act separately from us. ”
"Dina, don't go too far!" Christine growls, but Alan stops her.
However, alan did not answer Dina's question.
Instead, alan looked at her and me with a very cold gaze.
It was as if he was warning us not to do something we would regret.
However, when I saw his gaze, I smiled.
Then, I walked towards one of the students behind him. A noble girl I don't know her name.
"Miss, can you tell us what happened?" ask me while smiling.
“Clause!”
“Silence, eldest brother,” I said in a voice full of authority that instantly silenced Alan. "I'm not talking to you."
After saying that, I used my aura to suppress him and stop him and others around him from speaking.
Then, I looked towards the girl again and used a thought manipulation spell discreetly.
"Now, can you tell us what happened?"
Under the spell, the girl began to cry and told her everything between her sobs.
How they were attacked last night by a very powerful daemon (me).
How they escaped but were soon discovered by more daemons chasing them restlessly.
How some of their comrades were hunted and captured by daemons.
How some men dressed in black sacrificed themselves in order for Alan to escape.
How Alan left some injured students and used them as bait to gain time.
How Alan finally decided to come to this camp and ask for our help when he couldn't take it anymore.
When the girl finished telling her story, everyone around her fell silent.
The gaze they used to see on Alan changed completely. Now they were filled with distrust, vigilance, ridicule, and anger.
“... So you came to seek protection, yes. Like a losing dog.”
Alan gritted his teeth with hatred.
“Dina!”
"What's? Are you angry? None of this will happen if you decide to follow my orders yesterday, ” said Dina coldly.
“Now not only are some students dying because of your stupid stubbornness, but you are even attracting more daemons to our positions! How can you be so stupid !? ” says dina again.
Alan closed his eyes and took a deep breath. However, I could feel anger and hatred boiling within him.
In fact, some students have retreated. They may realize that something is wrong with this conversation.
However, Dina ignored all of that and continued.
“To be honest, if not for the fact that you are the crown prince, I would have killed you myself.”
When these words rang out, a few breaths of fear rang out in the camp.
Many students and teachers looked at each other with pale expressions. This was a princess who declared she wanted to kill the crown prince.
Many students were afraid the situation was heating up and Alan or Dina attacked each other. If such a thing happens and one of them dies, they are like people who are at risk of losing their minds.
Fortunately, neither Dina nor Alan were so rash.
After Dina glared at Alan coldly for a few seconds, she spoke to Master Tear.
“Teacher Tear, send two teachers to watch over Alan and his friends. If they do something unwanted, you can use any means to hold them back. Just make sure they stay alive.”
“Dina! Do you think we are criminals!? ” Christine is the one who yells furiously.
But Dina remained indifferent.
“Some students died because of your mistake. To me, even if you're a crown prince, future empress, or heir to a famous noble, you're all worse off than criminals. ”
Then, Dina turned around and stopped paying attention to Alan.
Very good, brother.
I looked at Alan with a mocking look and turned around as well.
Mm, it's a great way to vent stress.
“Good, sister.” I whispered to my beloved sister.
Dina smiled forcefully. I could see him clenching his fists until he turned white.
Although she had just humiliated Alan, Dina actually also held back her anger and hatred.
“... How I want to kill that bastard now.” Dina growling.
I patted her on the shoulder and comforted her. “Don't worry, sister. He won't live long.”
Dina looked at me. His pitch-black eyes showed several complicated emotions at the same time.
"i hope so."
…
After the break, we continued our journey.
Surprisingly, things seemed to change for the better all of a sudden. Daemons stopped attacking us, and the students did their best to advance as quickly as possible. At some point, it looks like we can leave this forest without any more complications.
But the more like this, the more Dina's expression turned grim.
Not only Dina, but Master Tear, Katherine, Louise, Rose, and a few other disciples and teachers were like that as well. They looked as if they were about to face the greatest danger of their lives.
And their fears turned into reality.
When we were only a kilometer away from the forest exit, a daemon appeared in front of us.
And there were dozens of daemons behind it.
