The guard quickly explained the situation, causing my Aunt to furrow her brows.
Not many people dared to make trouble in this place. After all, it was common knowledge that I, a prince, was the owner of the auction house. Someone who dares to make trouble here is someone strong, or stupid.
But a fool would be kicked by the guards long ago, so he was clearly someone strong.
I already had an idea of what was happening, so I went to the entrance quickly. Aunt Dayana and Daisy still frowned, but they sighed and followed me.
Once there, I immediately found the source of the commotion. A young man shouted at the clerk while holding an antique vase in his hand. Two soldiers and an old man were standing behind him and a group of people had surrounded them and were muttering softly about the situation.
"I need an explanation!" The young man shouted with a mocking look. "I bought this vase here a few days ago and you told me it was real, but it was definitely fake. How are you going to explain it ?!"
"Tu-Master, relax. The rules say that once an object is removed from the auction house, then we are not responsible for it."
"Are you insinuating that I'm making it up ?! How dare you! guards, arrest this woman." The young man pointed at the woman and ordered the soldiers. Instantly, the soldiers stepped forward to retrieve the officer.
The woman's face was pale. He tried to stutter something, but he could not speak out of fear. But just as the two guards were about to capture the woman, I appeared.
"Stop!" I spoke in a cold tone. Instantly, all the voices around him fell silent. But the soldiers did not stop. They continued forward as if I wasn't there.
My expression turned dark instantly. Without hesitation, I unsheathed my sword and took a step forward.
Those two soldiers were only in the third layer of mana, so they paled when they saw my attack. However, the young man behind them grinned and ruled at the same time. "Don't stop, I want that woman dead!"
The soldiers obeyed and continued to attack the woman.
His sword flashed and confronted mine, but I sneered and repelled it, then, with a step forward, I slashed at the two soldiers.
"arghh "The two soldiers cried out in pain and fell two floors. I did not kill them, but their injuries were serious. If not treated immediately, they will die.
After the two armies were conquered, I saw the young man.
"Al, who do you think caught my men at my place?" I spoke coldly, making everyone around shiver.
The young man had a surprised expression. He couldn't believe that I defeated him so easily even though his mana layer was one level higher.
But that expression quickly turned ugly. He looked at me angrily and pointed at the army.
"You ... You hurt my men!"
"They attacked one of my clerks. Whahuh? Do you expect me to see me without doing anything when they kill him?"
"I punished him! I'm looking for an explanation of something I bought here, but these commoners dare to insult me, so I have the right to ask my people to arrest him!"
"Yes-Your Majesty, it's-it's not like that! She's wa–"
"Stop, I already know. Don't worry, I'll take care of the situation." I nodded towards the attendant to calm him down before staring coldly at the young man.
Al Riea was the niece of the empress. He was a young man of about 20 years old, the son of Carson Riea, a powerful general of the empire and the brother of Lilia Riea, the empress.
As you can imagine, our relationship was very bad. He always tried to find trouble with me at every turn, but he never succeeded.
Even so, however, he never dared to attack my men openly. Furthermore, he accused me of selling counterfeit goods. Although most people will understand that it is a lie, our reputation will be affected.
Obviously the reason he came was because of yesterday's announcement. It seems like some people can't wait to see me fall.
“Explain, what is the problem with the vase,” I frowned and ordered roughly. Al snorted in annoyance, but quickly spoke.
"you know, I bought this vase a few days ago, but when I observed it in detail this morning, I realized that it was fake. Imagine my surprise when I found it; after all, your auction has a reputation. I can't believe you dare sell a fake. Maybe that's the reason Clara won't marry you." He then smiled evilly.
Moreover, he mentioned my fiancee's name. It was clear that he wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to humiliate me.
I intensified my gaze and moved my mana to my body. Al retreated involuntarily, but he immediately realized his mistake and clenched his hands furiously.
"You know that once an item is taken outside the auction house, we are not responsible for it, right? Besides, you've had a vase for a few days. Why haven't you seen anything until now?"
"As I said, I just checked this morning. Besides, I'm sure you can make an exception for a family like mine" he replied mockingly. We both knew that it was just a hoax to ruin my business reputation. It's nothing more than a joke.
But I want to play with him.
"Are you sure the vase is fake?"
"Of course, you can check it out. Also, you should give me an explanation of my men's injuries" he replied confidently.
I took out a vase of flowers and watched it closely. Then, under the astonished gaze of the surroundings, I threw it to the ground.
The vase fell and broke into pieces. Everyone looked at me with frozen eyes, but I ignored them. With a calm expression, I grabbed a piece of the flower vase and showed it around.
"Layland is five hundred years old. It looks real to me. Whaddya think? I gave the piece to one of the clerks casually. The attendant put on a surprised expression but quickly accepted it." a-you're right, Your Excellency. "
"… Huh?" Al could not understand what was going on.
I gave a piece of clay to the old man behind him. The old man examined him and quickly, his face turned pale.
"tu-Young master, i-this is real."
"No way! I'm sure it's fake!" Answer Al. He looked at the piece of clay, but soon, his expression turned unsightly.
“I think you forgot to bring a fake and bring the real one, young master Al.” I laughed softly and mocked him. "Unfortunately, I destroyed it thinking it was fake. Well, you can't blame me for that, can you?"
Al looked at me with a dark expression, but then, he waved his hand.
"Let's go! Someone's bringing the wounded out!"
"Wait a minute!" cut it.
"What do you want?!" He asked .
"Do you think you can cause trouble here without consequences?"
Al's expression changed. But before he could react, my sword flashed.
In the next instant, the heads of the two soldiers fell to the ground. Then, the sword pierced the heart of the old man behind Al.
Finally, the tip of my sword stopped in front of the young man's neck.
Al's face turned pale. A terrified expression appeared on his face, but I just chuckled and pulled my sword. "How useless." I said.
I don't care about showing a power greater than the fourth layer. After all, my fight against the captain was witnessed for some people, so it won't be long before the nobles find out that I displayed strength equivalent to the sixth layer.
Maybe it'll give me some breathing room.
Al stepped back continuously with a terrified expression. Then, he turned around and fled quickly. I chuckled again and looked around. Coughing a few times, I raised my voice and spoke to the people watching the spectacle.
"Everything, this joke is over. Please don't block the entrance."
A few seconds later, almost everyone was gone.
